Scottie Ramone #4

Caught Bread Handed

Rate this book
Scottie Ramone couldn’t be happier with the way things are going in her new bakery. She has an amazing assistant, and the town locals flock to her shop every morning for their breakfast treats. If only life outside the bakery was going as smoothly. Scottie is still confused about her friendship with Cade Rafferty. In the meantime, Dalton Braddock, the town’s ranger and Scottie’s lifelong crush, has been rethinking his marriage to Crystal Miramont.

The discovery of a possibly rare, valuable coin throws the whole town into disarray, and when the owner of the coin is murdered, there are plenty of suspects to go around. Scottie puts her personal troubles aside and throws herself into the case. She soon learns that some pennies are lucky and some are most decidedly not.

Oh HO! Things are coming to a head with Scottie's potential romantic interests and it's only making it more confusing for poor Scottie. Plus, there's a dead body or two she needs to deal with. You know, as tends to happen when Scottie's around.

First, the mystery. A rare coin that could be very valuable is at the heart of it all. Well, a rare coin and a little rivalry between some coin collectors in the small town. Or maybe I should say the rivalry leads to a fair pool of suspects for Scottie to sort through. Add in the way the coin was obtained and there are PLENTY of suspects to go around this time.

On the romance front, things could be heating up with Cade, but Dalton still makes Scottie's heart skip a beat whenever she sees him. However, Dalton's upcoming wedding (to someone who is not her) has her trying to be realistic about those heart skipping moments. Then THINGS HAPPEN and somehow the brakes get put on all the potential romance all around. Which is a little off-putting, but maybe everyone just needs to step back and take a breath. Or something.

Anyway. A little danger, a little sting operation, pastries, kisses, coins, and Scottie right in the middle of it all. *thumbs up*

Drawn and Quartered

Scottie Ramone is such a Lady that has come to really start to know herself. Unfortunately she is pulled in four different directions, Cade Rafferty, Dalton Braddock, Nana, but most importantly her love and dreams of her own bakery. Jack has helped her become successful due to his skills. It seems no one had better mess with Scottie otherwise they will have to answer to Jack the Bear of a Man. I love how London leaves you hanging impelling you to continue the story, like you could feel Scotties heart break when Cade announces a month or longer tour of Europe to promote his book, what will Scottie do?

This book seemed to be a lot more about the personal life of Scottie than the mystery which was totally fine with me. And I did like the mystery overall it was interesting. Two things: Scottie is 40 years old. She is a Millennial, she knows technology better than any generation as she really grew up with it. Saying things about how her generation doesn't know or How to use it well is just false. Also, its 2024 , no more love triangle Scottie do a why choose as the very famous meme said why not both.

Scottie is back for a new adventure! I love the evolution of all the characters and seeing relationships evolve. I love seeing more of Nana; she's such a lovely, warm character. I always say this, but the imagery is beautiful. London has such a descriptive way with words and I can see such beautiful mental images based on the descriptions. This is the perfect book to cozy up to with a hot drink and blanket.

Great story. Miving right along with Scotties life. She's having trouble deciding which fella to chose. And of course there always another murder to solve. Keeps you guessing on both parts. Who will win Scotties love?

Wow, what a pickle, sorry what a burnt batch of cookies

Scottie is in the thick of things again. How does she manage to do so? She just wants to run her bakery, she is torn between her personal life and finding a murderer.

Really Quick Read!

All the Scottie Ramone books have been really good and keep me wanting to know what happens next in her life and in the small town.

A 1943 Lincoln copper penny is the reason men are killed in this story.

Cade or Dalton, which one is she going to choose?

There are no words!

Very mixed emotions. Figured out what was happening but it still kept me in suspense. I must agree with other loss fans. The story always has to end 😕

This is one if my favorite series by London Lovett!!! Scottie Ramone is such a fun character. Lots of suspense and mystery. Cade and Dalton have Scottie all mixed up in this one and what a closing paragraph!! It left me so ready for the next book. I love all the characters and the town. London is such an amazing storyteller. It is like being a kid at Christmas when I start one of her books!!
