Yuyuko Takemiya (竹宮 ゆゆこ Takemiya Yuyuko) is a Japanese writer of light novels. Takemiya debuted in September 2004 with her light novel series Watashitachi no Tamura-kun (Our Tamura-kun) which first appeared in the autumn 2004 issue of Dengeki hp Special, a special edition version of Dengeki hp. That same month, Takemiya worked on the scenario for the bishōjo game Noel by FlyingShine (also known for creating Cross Channel).
Following the completion of Watashitachi no Tamura-kun, Takemiya began her best-known series, Toradora!, which she declared to be complete in April 2010 after ten volumes and three spin-off books. The first book of her next series, Golden Time, was Dengeki Bunko's 2000th published light novel. Takemiya launched the manga series Evergreen with artist Akira Kasukabe on July 19, 2011 in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Daioh Genesis quarterly magazine.
Another fun entry in the romantic comedy series that finds Ryuuji, Taiga and the rest of their friends dealing with new student, Ami, who just so happens to be a popular teen model. Yuyuko Takemiya's story remains fun and heartfelt as usual, with plenty of humor dealing with Ami's snobbish nature while also finding layers of depth to her (even models have problems). Zekkyo's art remains nicely cartoony as well, making a perfect fit for the material. Honestly, one of the best high school comedies in recent memory.
It's tempting to say that this is just another harem manga, but there are some differences. The main characters, Ryuuji and Taiga, are each interested in someone else. Their crushes do not have a large role in the story (at least, so far). Volumes 2 and 3 added a harem member for Ryuuji, but the harem is still small. The main story is about Ryuuji and Taiga's relationship and the other characters seem to be prods to drive their story.
Vedremo...
This volume has a lot of development with one of the more polarizing characters. Ami is one of my favorite characters in the series and it’s super easy to hate on her for a lot of reason, but this volume is all about her coming to terms with who she really is. Overall enjoyed this volume.
This volume is a little bit slower and focuses heavily on Ami. Taiga has some good moments in this one that reveal her more sensitive side. We also learn more about Ami and she becomes a more dynamic character in this volume.
I’m surprised but yeah, I could also relate to Ami-chan. We just want people to like us, but when our true identity is lost it’s so easy to question whether people truly like the real us or not 🤔😭
