She may not have a horse, but she's got grit, a dream, and a coach willing to take a chance.
Laney’s life is upended when she's barred from the only stable she knows. Enter Drew, a trainer with an eye for talent and a heart for the underdog. In a world where dollars often dictate dominance, Laney – armed with resolve and a dream – must come to terms with what she’s lost and trust in the possibilities of the future." Catch Rider" is a story of overcoming the odds, chasing what seems impossible, and the power of a second chance. Will Laney seize the opportunity to redefine her destiny?
As a prequel, the story reads simply as an introduction to the series. Laney's parents don't want her to ride but she wants to be at the stables, travelling there predominantly by bike while her parents are often absent. The story follows the world of horse riding and the obstacles Laney needs to overcome if it means having a chance to ride. The book is written in the present tense so readers read the narrative in real-time. This is a personal pleasant way to read since nothing in the future can be foreseen and readers learn what happens at the same time as the characters. This is a cosy and casual read.
I received a free copy and am leaving a review voluntarily. Thank you to Hidden Gems Books and author.
Boom!! Start to finish, a great read. This talented author always, and I mean always, delivers a top flight story, and no fluff! Can't miss with this one.
At this point I think Tudor Robins is one of my favorite authors. Her books are so warm and cozy and feel like the softest blanket is wrapped around you on the couch. The way she writes horses and riders transports me back to my barn days when I lived and breathed every ride I could get my hands on. This prequel novella is no different. Laney is a girl after my own heart. If you love horses, and love comfort stories, pick this one up and give it a go. Then find your favorite barn, stable, or horse and go for a ride. Thank you endlessly to Tudor Robins for the advanced review copy. It was such a pleasure to enjoy this novella.
She has just lost everything and she knows without a horse she would not be able to race. One sees her talent so he takes her under his wing to help her get her dreams. How will she get on? Can she regain what she has lost? See if she can I received an advance copy from hidden gems and I want to review
Wonderful story about a gifted teenage rider and her search for a future with horses. Though she doesn’t own a horse she has grown up riding. She has a way of reaching difficult horses and gets some money “catch riding” other people’s horses for them. Read how she lives alone and through grit and determination she starts to build a reputation with other horse owners. Can she make it alone? When jealousy intervenes her chances are quickly becoming very slim.
Catch Rider tells the story of teenager Laney. She is a very capable rider and full of passion and enthusiasm for riding, but she doesn’t have a horse of her own. And since her aunt’s passing, Laney doesn’t even have a place she can comfortably come to and ride at.
Wonderful teen girl horse story. An only child whose parents often leave her to fend for herself hangs out at a stable. The owner feels threatened by her and tries to make her life difficult, but she finds that she has many allies.
Love Tudor Robins’ writing - and this one doesn’t disappoint. Great realism, excellent horse detail, and a heroine fighting against the odds. All the stuff I love. Looking forward to more.
