This sturdy board book features vivid photographic illustrations and simple text, showing how a mother responds to her son when he acts out by biting her. The book clearly explains that biting hurts and isn't the right way to handle your feelings, and it portrays alternate ways of dealing with anger. Even though the resolution felt too easy to me, this can be a helpful parenting tool for families with little kids who are struggling with this behavior.

Excellent photographs and a solid narrative. A bit much text for the intended age group, but overall a solid pick. Mixed feelings about a QR code on the back of the book that redirects readers to additional resources (and, I’m sure, the publisher’s retail arm).
