Chaos reigns in a world where elemental Fae grapple with the return of an oppressive regime. Following a vicious attack, Keegan and Calder are thrust into a perilous game of survival as they navigate the treacherous waters of political intrigue and familial betrayal. As they face the escalating threats, their fledgling passion ignites, drawing them ever closer.

While the Council convenes to address the imminent danger of the Chaos Faction, alliances are tested and secrets revealed. With darkness encroaching and the Fomori lurking, the Fae must rally together to defy expectations and forge a new path forward. A series of trials to reinstate The Fianna, an ancient band of warriors, is implemented, and members of the Aos Sí must compete for the right to lead their army. The stakes rise as they confront old prejudices, uncover hidden truths, and rekindle relationships—all while facing formidable enemies determined to extinguish their light. In a realm where love and loyalty are put to the ultimate test, the battle for survival becomes not just a fight against external foes, but a quest for acceptance and self-identity. The monsters are coming. Will the Aos Sí find the strength to confront their past and reshape their future, or will they be consumed by the chaos that threatens to unravel their world?

Hunted Elements: Book Two of The Dubailte Chronicles by M.A. Kilpatrick

Fantasy Adventure Romance

Set in a dual reality where modern day Earth is connected by portals to the fae realm.

Meet the FMC: Keegan is a feisty, Irish, redheaded fae with an explosion of curls and two elemental gifts: Fire and Air. She was raised on Earth by her mother with her best friend Cara and her familiar, Aine.

Meet the MMC: Calder is an Irish fae raised by his mother after her husband passed. He comes from a huge, well respected family in the Aos Si fae and spent much of his adult life primarily on Earth helping run the family's Earth based businesses. He weilds Earth and Water magic.

This book is told from the third person POV and follows the lives and adventures of multiple characters.

No spoilers, but a general synopsis: a deadly prophecy marks all fae with more than one elemental power abominations. Two such fae find each other and, with their families, must fight prejudice and prepare for literal monsters to save the Aos Si fae. This is a must for your TBR!

I have already read Hidden Elements, Book One, and I had the pleasure of being an ARC reader for Book Two Hunted Elements! This is a fun, romantic fantasy series with tons of humor! There's a large, warm Irish fae family, talking familiars, 🌶🌶, and elemental magic ✨️💖 What else does a girl need?!

In this book, the danger, intensity, and romance heats up, and we are introduced to an entire new faction of the fae. The world and character building doubles after our intro in the first book, and the stakes are HIGH.

I will certainly be back for the next book! I'm looking forward to seeing continued development in the multiple side characters. There are so many opportunities here for spin offs, twists, and turns! The book ends in such a way that you know there is more, but you don't get a cliffhanger migraine (as is often the case in this genre.)

Secrets revealed open possibilities but also offer more threats

Keegan and Calder are no longer hiding who they are nor are they hiding their relationship. They have proved that they will choose their destiny and that when so much looms ahead love is worth having.

With all the secrets out in the open it also gives old flames a chance go blossom into something more.

Follow as a competition begins to decide who will lead the troops in the battles to come.

Learn about the mysterious voice and the new threats the Aos Si will be facing in the coming battles.

Meeting the Fomori is a new adventure. They are a race divided into two very different factions. Those who have tapped info the Chaos magic are going mad and physically changing into something unimaginable. The Shadow faction refuse to give into the Chaos magic and are dealing with an internal battle that is slowly wiping out the good they have left. What will they be willing to do to ensure their survival in the coming battle?

On top of this the familiars have a secret that has been lost o er the years and they need to decide if it will make difference or if there is anything else they can offer. With so many new familiars around you are bound to find some new bonds happening.

Don't worry there is still plenty of antics from the crazy phoenix and goat. There are dance numbers, songs, crowns and even a hysterical bit of dirty limericks that offer a lightness within all the chaos.

Buckle up for this ride. There is a lot of new information and relationships to be worked out. Of course there is plenty of drama.

I can't wait to see what will happen next.

Irish mythology, check; elemental magic, check; different realms, check; and spice, check.

Hunted Elements<\i> is book 2 in The Dúbailte Chronicles, and it continues the story surrounding Keegan, Calder and their families and the fight that is yet to come. The more I read in this series, the more I fall in love with all the characters. Kilpatrick knocks it out of the park with her writing. She makes me feel so involved and invested, that you can't help but feel like you're a part of the family. ‘Family is life!’

I also cannot explain how much I love the familiars, especially Áine. She fucking kills me. I constantly cackling like an old witch at the words that come out of her mouth. She is honestly one of my favourite characters ever!

I also have to shout out to Calder cause DAMN! He is *chef’s kiss.* A cute cinnamon roll, who is so sweet and will do what he can for you and wants to protect you, BUT holy shit, once he is in the bedroom he turns into a kinky DOM and I am here for it! He can make a bed in the forest for me anytime! 😉

I will end this with my favourite mottos from booth books:

Book 1: “Chin up, tits out.” - Áine

Book 2: “Fuck my life.” - Keegan

After reading book one and enjoying my first deep dive into the world of Fae, I quickly moved on to this one!

After learning that Calder and Keegan are not viewed positively because of just being born, we quickly learn why Family is Life is the theme.

Keegan and her small family have hidden on Earth but return to the home world due to her mom's illness. They are instantly accepted by Calder's family....ALL of them.

But things take a nasty turn when it is discovered that they are different. They must prove that they are not what the fae society has deemed them to be.

Throw in an incomplete prophecy, betrayal, some monsters, and absolutely brilliant familiars.. and you have yourself a truly entertaining ride.

The Irish folklore sprinkled in with the fantasy, banter, a little spice, and a whole lot of family taking care of their own left me smiling, giggling, and sometimes a little teary eyed.

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from M.A. Kilpatrick, especially if it involves more fae and their familiars...until next time.

Damn this book was heavy! I gotta admit, this book has one of the most interesting story lines and the fact that its irish lore as well is a new read for me.
I struggled a bit in the beginning to understand what was going on especially with the huge number of characters and the unique names of each person as well as the back and forth POVs but as i got through each chapter i got HOOKED!!! The world building and character description is insane and i have to admit this is one the most unique series ive read!

Let me just say this MISS THANG is EVERYTHING to me!! Shes HILARIOUS😂💚

What to expect:
💚High fantasy
💚Irish lore
💚Animal companians
💚Elemental & shadow magic
💚Romantic relationships

I have enjoyed this series a lot more than I expected to! It is the first fantasy book with Irish lore I have read. Therefore, it was hard to understand the language and terms as I had to keep going back to the glossary. However, the story line hooked me!

Essentially, a grim prophecy marks all Fae with dual powers. This leads to a prejudice among their world, but when two such Fae come together, others must learn to change old ways of thinking as they will soon learn there are far more dangerous things heading their way.

This fantasy includes romance, strong family bonds, animal companions (familiars) elemental magic, shadow magic, and a whole lot of 🌶️

My favorite character is definitely miss thang 🦜 Her humor is the best!! 😂

I will definitely be back for book 3! I can’t wait to see what happens!

Hunted Elements was just as good as Hidden Elements. All I had to do was read the prologue, and I was immediately hooked. When Kilpatrick says that Hunted Elements is darker than Hidden Elements, she wasn't kidding. Anyone who wants to read Hunted Elements, be sure to read the trigger warnings at the beginning. The way Kilpatrick continues the story in Hunted Elements is absolutely flawless and really ties the story together. The concept of second chances and having strong family ties and relationships is truly inspiring. Overall, I absolutely loved this book, and I literally couldn't put it down.

So my number one reason to recommend this book is Aine 😂 she is everything and you need her in your life!! This was such a unique world,I love books with fae, but I also loved the exposure I got to Irish lore. In my opinion, Maire had the best character development, and I can't wait to read more about these unique characters. The characters really pulled me into their world and kept me intrigued with the story, especially miss "Thang".

There were lots of relationships in this one, but they each had some development, so it was good. There was tension, and gasp inducing moments where I yelled. Aine is definitely my favorite character! I love her personality 🤣. I laughed, I was grossed out, I was shocked. A couple of ends got tied up, and new things were started.
