300,000 years ago a planet called Mars is dying, once a rich planet full of life, now it's quickly heading towards extinction as the magnetic field fails hundreds of feet above the planet. To restore Mars' core to how it once was a rare material called Raidem must be found, because it's the only element that can jumpstart Mars' core and reignite its atmosphere to help save all life on Mars.
Captain Franz (Mar) Leir will have to pilot his starship through dangers in deep space to attempt to get the resources that could save Mars. If he can get back in time it's possible that the planet could be saved, or at least give the humans time to evacuate the planet. But he only has three years to do so, since the atmosphere is expected to completely dissipate by then.
On his voyage he will travel the galaxy to find the Raidem, and encounter allies, as well as enemies as he races to complete his mission in time. For the fate of life on Mars hangs in the balance.
Come along for the adventure of a lifetime in a new science fiction thriller.
This science fiction novel is about the making of Mars habitable for us. The narrative is well paced, neither too slow or too fast It isn’t full of battles and violence and I liked that too.
I am definitely going to download book 2 in the series.
In Mars Adventure 3000 (Part One), readers are quickly given a clear picture of the threat hanging over Mars. Essentially, if they can't restore the planet's core, their atmosphere will be lost, forcing them to leave their home and migrate to earth.
The author provides detailed explanations regarding his novel's technical/scientific information and story background. His world building is complex. Women have a very limited presence, and the predominance of male characters suggests they are the target readership.
The story is told in first-person writing style mixed with omniscient. Because of the extensive explanations and details of actions taken out by the characters, often in dialogue, the third-person point of view might have been more effective. The immediacy and pace of the first-person writing style is diminished by the large volume of information being relayed.
Initially the author places most dialogue tags BEFORE the dialogue (in some cases tagging dialogue before and after). This also reduced immediacy and pace. As the story progresses, more variety of dialogue tagging is introduced, but remains balanced toward the initial style. Timeline and continuity issues exist, along with formatting concerns such as sentences broken in the middle to form new paragraphs.
The age range is shown as 8-18, but this story may not appeal to readers in the lower range. That said, I read classic authors such as Clarke, Heinlein, and Norton at a young age and encourage kids to challenge themselves.
I believe Mars Adventure 3000 (Part One) has good potential, but the meticulous detail bogged down the story for me. More variety in dialogue tagging, paragraph length and resolution of continuity issues would also enhance readability. Nonetheless, this was an ambitious story to tell and should appeal to many in the target readership.
Good science fiction This fantastic story is interesting for its plot and its main character, Captain Mar, who is entrusted with the critical mission of saving his planet, Mars. Mars is facing difficult times for the survival of humanity. They have two options: either fly to Earth and suffer from a climate that is completely different from that of Mars, or find the Raiden that is necessary for the core of Mars. They only have three years to save themselves. This book contains a lot of scientific explanations of how everything happens and functions, so it's not just light reading; you have to follow the author's train of thought, and I like that.
Science fiction rooted in a realistic narrative. A desperate pilot undertakes a crucial mission to save his people as Mars, their home planet, faces certain destruction. The story follows his journey to create a new world where they can rebuild their lives, and it explores a familiar yet gripping sci-fi premise with a grounded and realistic tone. The narrative conveys a strong sense of urgency and weaves in detailed, science-based aspects of space travel, exploration into the unknown, fighting and conquering new frontiers and survival on a new planet. The challenges of establishing life in a hostile and unfamiliar environment add depth and intensity to the characters' struggles.
This fast-paced space story throws you right into the action! Mars is falling apart, and Captain Leir has just three years to find a rare element that might save it. With starships, danger, and strange planets, it’s got all the cool sci-fi stuff kids and teens will love. A great pick for readers who enjoy thrilling missions, wild space journeys, and heroes who won’t give up.
Raidem: The Last Spark of Mars captivated me with its vivid world-building and unrelenting sense of urgency. The author’s prose is both elegant and kinetic, painting Mars’s decline and the vastness of space with equal clarity. At its heart, this novel celebrates resilience and hope—every chapter pulses with the belief that even the smallest spark can reignite a dying world. A deeply inspiring, page-turning adventure that stayed with me long after the last page.
Space adventure with drama Space movie in book form: saving Mars against a backdrop of timers, space battles, risk and hope. Sometimes it feels like there's too much detail, about sensors, about ship designs. But overall the idea of saving an entire planet is riveting. At times the characters sound too mechanical, but it doesn't get in the way. The world and universe are built so seamlessly: not only the plot, but also the logic and technology seem real.
This feels like the beginning of a massive series, and I’m here for it. The world-building is exciting, the danger is intense, and the mission has me dying to know what comes next. I loved how each encounter added to the suspense, making it impossible to predict where things would go. It has the energy of a classic sci-fi epic but with a fresh voice. If this is part one, I’ll be grabbing part two immediately.
This book is a thrilling start to what promises to be an epic series. The author does a fantastic job of blending futuristic technology, suspense, and human emotion. The story pulls you in from the start, blending science, mystery, and survival as the search for the rare element Raidem becomes humanity’s last hope. The world-building is vivid and the stakes feel real, making it hard to put down. A thrilling read for fans of classic space exploration and high-stakes adventure.
Fans of hard science fiction, space opera, and stories centered on humanity's resilience in the face of overwhelming odds will likely find much to enjoy in Mars Adventure 3000. It appears poised to deliver a classic tale of exploration, survival, and the enduring human spirit against the backdrop of the cosmos.
I’ve been looking for something in this niche, so I was really excited to stumble across this book. The concept is super cool, a race against time to save Mars? Yes please. The plot kept me engaged, and I had fun following the main character through his space journey. There’s a good mix of adventure and scifi world building, and the stakes felt real enough to keep me flipping pages.
I have started this book and, differently than with most sci-fi that lose my attention very quickly, this has sparked my interest and I'll get to the end of it, also as I assume it'll be part of a series. There are some editing details that could be improved, but perhaps this edition will be slightly modified and that will make the reading experience even better.
This book blends strong science and world building with a fast paced mission to save Mars. Though pacing and character depth need refinement, it’s an engaging read for fans of The Martian and Interstellar.
