My first Super Frank's book.

This book is similar to its author managerial career: lot of materials with lack of arrangement and strategy. Magic world, football, ancient kingdom, and all combine! Unfortunately, Frank Lampard didn't explore much these potentials. If he did, maybe we could feel the well-executed football story. Or probably because writing books is a new thing for him? Remember that Frank won manager of the month then his results just became worse after he bought (too many) new players.

I believe what people say about trust the process. And as I trusted Frank's managerial career, I know he can do his stories better after this book. Practice makes perfect, right?

After all I didn't expect much. Maybe he made books just for fun. So my expectation doesn't disappoint me. Anyway, he was a legendary footballer (and coach), not really a writer.

Trenslet:

Ingat bahwa Frank pernah menang manager of the month tapi performanya turun setelah belanja (terlalu banyak) pemain baru.

Ingat kata orang-orang: percaya proses.

Lagipula ekspektasi saya gak tinggi. Barang kali Frank memang menulis buku for fun aja. Jadi saya gak kecewa.

Frang Freng Frang Freng kaya dah bro aja gua. Biarin lah. Sekian.

Frankie, a young footballer has fallen out with his brother. He also has a magic football. Him and some of his friends are sent back in time. They need to play football against some medieval knights to get back to the present. I really enjoyed this, more than I thought I would. It is very fast moving, and fun to read, mixing football, history and mythology. The characters are basic - the structure and language used is cliched - but it avoids a simple winner takes all resolution. It mixes the moral story of good versus evil with sibling rivalry, and encourages trying hard. I can see how some kids who don't enjoy reading very much might be attracted to this.
