For Qshauna Hampton, love doesn’t carry the same clutch on her heart that it once did. She thought she’d formed an unbreakable bond with a man who’d tied her soul to the kind of happiness she had no idea even existed. Noah Calavarie came into her life and seduced her so deep into a whirlwind erotic romance to the point that she didn’t know where he ended and she began. He loved on and catered to her effortlessly, constantly making her desire for him that much more urgent and intense. The anticipation for Noah alone could set her ablaze for days at a time, leaving her reeling in a high that left her drowning in pleasure. Noah could make the cheeks on her face and the ones below the waist of her plus-sized body blush and cause both sets of her lips to smile at any given moment. So when Noah blindsides Qshauna with heartbreak, stealing the only real relationship that ever fed her heart, she wants nothing else to do with Noah nor his charming, seductive ways. And changing her mind on the subject becomes next to impossible regardless of how badly Noah wants to right his wrongs and restore her faith in everything that used to make her smile. Will Qshauna give Noah the chance to redeem himself and restore her views on what being loved right truly means? Or has he damaged her heart so far beyond repair that unraveling the past becomes too much to handle, leaving her convinced that real love never existed in the first place?
From the moment Noah Calavarie met Qshauna Hampton, he knew she had been created just for him. She was his soul’s mate. She was everything he never knew he wanted. Or needed. Having never been a fan of love until she walked into his life, making her his became his only priority. Properly handling her heart, protecting her, and learning her love languages became second nature to him, and so had catering to her in ways that made her thighs clench and made her gushiness speak to him in a language that only he could understand. When instant, intense chemistry and intoxicating pleasure in and out of the bedroom leads to Noah and Qshauna jumping the broom, he is convinced they will thrive for years to come. But what happens when Noah’s predicted longevity suddenly comes to a screeching halt, and his untraditional path to happiness is suddenly destroyed by unhealed traumas and the exposed hidden jealousy of others? Will Noah be able to win back Qshauna’s heart and show her the love she deserves? Will he be able to reignite the undeniable passion that used to burn between them? Or will the love Noah once believed would untimely stand the test of time crumble right before his eyes as he loses the most phenomenal love he’d ever known?
I strongly suggest whoever’s interested in reading It’s Always Been Gushy follow the author’s note at the beginning and read Backshot Ready and Arched & Waiting. Reading those two books will help you better understand what’s happening in It’s Always Been Gushy. Even though I didn’t abide by the author’s note, I still enjoyed the book. I rate this a 4.5⭐️
Noah and Qshauna had a whirlwind romance and a forever kind of love. Noah believed someone else over his wife and caused a rift he couldn't repair. But he's determined to find a way. Because he can't live without his wife, and try as she might, she feels the same way.
Okay, so Noah is unhinged. Out of his mind. He is unwell... and probably my favorite. He broke in and posted up at his ex-wife's house to enjoy himself in her bed, watching a tape of them. I mean... sir, please! He wanted his wife and was not going to et her forget it. I did love the way Q pushed back and made it clear that he hurt her, and the hurt wasn't going to disappear just because he was ready. i loved that he still took care of the house and her. I loved the way they moved with each other, even though there was hurt and disappointment. Q pulling away because she saw Chauncey made me frown--I saw that coming. But she realized she could lean on Noah and he solved the problem.
They were passionate and very sexy and I love seeing them restoke the fire. Loved this one.
I waited for this book like a feen 😂 let’s just say my girl never fails me. I absolutely love this book. It’s second chance with a freak nasty twist to it. It’s black love
Let me start by saying this: the spice was my favorite part 🌶️😮💨 — but what really made this book hit was how well the spice, romance, and actual plot were balanced. Nothing felt thrown in just for shock value. It all made sense within the story, and I really appreciated that.
This is one of those connected series where each book focuses on a different brother. You can read them out of order, but honestly, if you read them in order, you’ll probably catch more of the emotional depth and backstory. I read out of order (don’t do what I did 😭), but I still followed along just fine.
I had mixed feelings at times — but in a good way. This story felt very realistic, and that’s something urban romance does so well. The back-and-forth between Noah and Q felt necessary because of their history. I was rooting for Noah the whole time, like, "Sir… please get it together 😩💔."
What I loved most? This is a true second-chance romance. They weren’t playing pretend — they were really divorced. Q stood on business, and I loved seeing a female lead who meant what she said and didn’t fold easily 👏🏽💅🏽.
There’s a lot of sex, a lot of romance, a lot of chaos, and yes — the story does get dark in places 🖤. But that just added to the realism for me. Urban romance hits different, and this book is a perfect example of that.
So far in the series, this one is my favorite. I still need to read Arched and Waiting (Book 2), but It’s Always Been Gushy really did its thing.
I’m so disappointed in this book. I almost took it personally because I was so excited to break my reading slump with this quick read. The plot DEFINITELY came second to the s*x. This seems to be a theme with the erotica books I’ve read this month. I still need a good story to devour. The nasty s*x should be the side item, not the main course meal. Because of this, I quickly lost interest in the book. Typically, I love a good descriptive s*x scene, but this book had so many long, drawn-out scenes that I found them repetitive and boring. I could only read about Qshauna’s leaky kewchie so many times before I started skipping pages altogether.
It also bothered me that the story went nowhere slowww- not fast. The main characters’ thoughts and direct dialogue were redundant. When they weren’t having s*x, they were talking in circles about the same thing. Qshauna and Noah had the same back-and-forth going on throughout the book, which drove me crazy. It didn’t create angst between the characters because they remained in some form of contact from the beginning of the story. What was the reason? They did all that to reconcile at the 80% mark.
The grammatical errors and misuse of words further ruined the experience for me. I’ll give this author’s work another try but this book definitely disappointed me.
Noah being the oldest took on a lot of responsibility, but he was nothing to play with. After discovering how his best friend from diapers set him up by showing fake evidence so that he would divorce his wife all because she rejected his advances, and since divorcing her without allowing her to defend herself he now knew he was made.a.fool of and did any and everything to get his wife back but she was not making things easy for him; Noah had to really put in that work. Too bad they didn't get the closure they needed from their mom but with strong women beside them they would survive. Happy she was able to tell them about their sister and since their dad got his closure he was now opening up to dating again. Great read.
I liked this story the best. That damn Noah was unhinged!!! They say love will make you do crazy things and Noah showed that and more!!! I loved how all the brothers were about their women but honey…NOAH!!! He went to space and beyond!!! After some bs happened and he had to make up for it…he showed up and showed out. He might have been stalkerish but baby I loved it lol Shauna didn’t give in easy either. She made his ass work for that shit! She knew her worth and wasn’t accepting anything less!! I loved how they were able to work through their issues and let the past go
Lawd! The back & forth here was somewhat necessary due to the history of Noah & Q!!!! The fact that punk azz Chauncey was able to say one word of baffling to me! EVERYONE told Noah about this man & he waited til he costed his heart in human form to see the person he was. Honestly when Mira popping up he should’ve expected ole boy! Now I felt where Q was coming from & I loved how she made Noah work for them to come back. I respected him for working for it. I’m ready to meet Rainbow officially!!!
Oh Lord.... Noah is off the chain and man his mom did a job on all of them but how he let a friend put in his head about his wife was not cool, but with the issues he ha from his mom I see it. Q didn't want to hear it cause she loved Noah with her whole heart and for him believe that she would betray him and he divorce her because of a lie was a lot but he was determined to get her back at all cost, I can't wait for the sister's story
Noah is definitely the most unhinged man I've read about ! But I just didn't like how he always said Q ussy was too good to let anyone else have it. Instead of love you and I can't live without you. Yes he still tended to yard and had always had her favorite snacks or items that she needed when they went away. It's like he also forced himself on her and he kidnapped her lol. But overall I love them as a family
I'm going to keep this simple... The level of freaking spice in this book I can't even. The amount of f****** these 2 did was astronomical.... Noah is crazy's hell his comebacks or top here.... I'm sitting over here I'd be a cycle just like Shauna if Noah popped up on my a** I do what he asked me to do as well.
Them Calvorie men are something else.....I love how they cater to their women. Dutchess, Brea and Q have the kind of sisterhood every female needs and the way the author weaved it into the storyline was awesome. I love everything about this book from cover to cover. Definitely a five star read and I would recommend it to everyone who enjoys this genre.
Noah Calavarie….fckin CERTIFIABLE bro!! He messed up and face AWLLLL the consequences and fought like hell to get his wife back!! I love his crazy! The way he popped up and kept getting his brothers to help him…whole family mental! 🤣🤣🤣 He and Q were meant to be together! Both need therapy but deflee meant to be!
Chileeee when they forget, we gotta remind em! When they let it go and want it back, make em sweat! Q did not come to play. She stood on her word and didn't back down til dem knees gave out... lol
The writing it’s my that good, but it gave what it was supposed to give and a lot of it was steaming hot. I’m glad Q and Noah got the stuff together after the whole Chauncey debacle.
Not your typical second chance romance. Lots of sex, romance, and crazy. Towards the end it got real dark for a moment. Wasn’t expecting that… but was happy for reconciliation!
The segg scenes are everything. India T Norfleet is the queen of erotica! I am so happy that Noah was able to right his wrong and give her exactly what she deserves.
This story had me questioning my own sanity. I laughed so hard at events I know should’ve disturbed me. Noah is a nutcase and I loved his character way too much.
I’m so happy that Noah and Qshauna go their happy ending. But baby Noah and Q stayed jumping each other bones every chance they got I’m surprised she didn’t pop up pregnant somewhere in the book.
