Perfect for fans of the Anita Blake and Sookie Stackhouse series, as well as the Bitten TV series. This is Book Three in the Lilith Mercury Series.Lilith's reputation as the best in the business has spread, and not just to the lycanthrope population. She's been hired to find the original vampire. The vamps want what everyone else wants, equality. However, she will soon realize that the original vampire isn't simply out for blood, or the return of rights to his people ... he wants Lilith This book contains violence, mature content, and a version of Dracula that will make you want to keep your window open at night.
I write what I enjoy in the hopes that others will enjoy it as well. I've always been drawn to the macabre. Vampires, werewolves, you name it.
I've never written about the paranormal because it's popular. I do it because that's what I'm interested in. If the vampire fad ever passes, I'll still be sitting here in my Dracula cape, getting my fang on.
"The Dread Moon" received 4 stars from my star-checklist.
The novel gained *STARS* for these items:
* gained for: "The book caught my interest in first five pages."
* gained for: "I thought about the book when I was forced to set it down and re-enter society."
* gained for: "There were no info dumps, poor writing, or copy edit mistakes that jerked me out of the story." (This one had the double punctuation again, but I was so swept into the story that I was able to whistle past most of them.)
* gained for: "I was sad when the book ended. I want more!"
The novel failed to gain stars for these items:
NO STAR gained for: "That's it. I'm hooked on this author I will automatically buy anything s/he writes." (Not yet. :) Although I am reading the next in the series already.)
I'm getting really tired of every man she meets falling in love with her and her being so gratuitously flirty. I get she's the seducer but just make this a reverse harem already. I'm tired of reading about her depressing so many men in her life with these gentle rejections. The book editing got better but I'm pretty bummed that we aren't getting more about the politics of these big world changes. Werewolves come out of the closet and there's nothing in the book about hate groups or the issues the wolves are facing being public. And then vampires come out and the world generically doesn't much care? That really kinda killed it for me. I binged 3 books in one day because it had such a unique storyline and high ratings but I just can't get on board.

Well, this is the third installment of this series and finally Lilith quit deny and lying to herself about her feeling for Marco! (Yay! I think I finally did a happy dance)
However, I’m still NOT fond of her she gives me whiplash with her musings and attraction to all the Hot men in her life - I get that she is a complex person with loads of contradictions. However, this random Randiness does nothin to endear her to me.
But Marco is who keeps pulling me back into this series - I’m so ready for some sexy times with him!
I will be continuing this series - just really want to see some maturity and personality growth form Lilith.
I can't get enough of these books. They are extremely well written and absolutely enthralling. They are completely captivating. The characters are phenomenal and I can't get enough of them.
I really love these stories, the plots are believable, and the characters are real. Except for the f word the work is well written. Looking forward to the next installment.
The Dread Moon (Lilith Mercury Werewolf Hunter) Tracey H Kitts
Well, book three in the Lilith Mercury series is now out and it is a great follow on from books one and two with some sad experiences for poor Lilith and some great steamy sex scenes for her too.
Lilith's reputation has spread, she's become head of H.A.V.O.C. and the vampires want her to trace the Original vampire – the one from whom they were all created. No one has seen him for a while but they want him to spear head their campaign for recognition as Marco did for the Werewolves. Lilith finds him – and finds he's more than she bargained for!
The book carries the following warning from the author: This book contains graphic violence, graphic language, and sex with BDSM (how odd – my spellcheck wants to replace this with Batsman – could be worse, could suggest Batman!!) elements including auto-erotic asphyxiation. Personally I enjoyed all the scenes and feel they fit well within the story, but for those who may be offended take note of the warning :) Tracey writes these scenes well, its not just a quick “wham bam thank you ma'am” but a very descriptive process slowly built up and drawn out over many pages.
I really felt for poor Lilith when she was devastated to find out about someone close to her had betrayed her on such a way, her emotions over it were very real and I felt close to tears myself...but then the consolation was so so delectable – and of course there's the yummy Marco still hanging out waiting for Lilith. Marco is a real treat – loyal and loving and so understanding of Liliths position. He's opened a new club in this book – its called The Dread Moon of course – and quite a few major plots revolve around it.
As usual by now from Tracey little clues to later parts are laid throughout the book and the action carries through really well. Its always clear what’s happening and why, no strange odd parts or blanks in the plots, so the reader can crack on with just enjoying a great story. Of course now I want to read next book – tracey leaves clues to what’s coming next but thankfully is not one of those authors who leave a book on a huge cliffhanger – I HATE those type of endings and find they really put me off buying a series. As Tracey is gradually revamping (!!) these books from the original I'm hoping next one doesn't take too long :) waiting for a sequel is always soo soo frustrating for readers.
At 484 KB (close to 300 pages I think) for just £1.92 its excellent value for money, and as with the first two books it's well edited with few errors. I really enjoyed it and look forward to continuing reading more of the series as they are released.
Stars; five – again an excellent book and I simply can't fault it – I was gripped in the story from start to finish and am desperate to read more of Lilith's story.
Alfred is terrible but I'm glad Marco is there to help her. I can't wait for her to be in charge of the new division. Dracula is an interesting part of the whole thing.
I really like the collection and find myself staying up too late, reading MORE than I have time for, because I want to see how Lilith will manage her never ending encounters with werewolves, vampires, wizards and hateful, nosey former high school classmates. Subtly steamy and lustful scenes raise the heart rate very tastefully.
The only thing I don't like is what seems like page after page of descriptions of buildings, scenarios that add no value to the plot or conversations between characters. I read on my Kindle and when I come across those sections of the book, I swipe ahead to the next scene of conversation. I don't feel as though I've missed anything critical by doing this yet!
Haha, I did enjoy reading this one, more so than all the others. Things blended in well and while I am a bit sorry to see Alfred go, he needed to, for he betrayed Lilith in one of the worst ways possible. I like the whole Bade and Marco thing though. Dracula, Alek and Luther are pretty hot to trot as well.
