At 23, Colt doesn't have many complaints. He has an apartment, a steady restaurant job, a plan for his art career, and he is preparing for his first gallery exhibit with his best friend, Becca. But a chance meeting with a mysterious girl at a bar throws everything he knew about the world into disturbing chaos.

It's been twenty years since Danielle's life was destroyed by the Kryrie. Now a Lapsi, in addition to grief and guilt, she bears the weight of forced loneliness—a side effect of the Lapsi curse. On an impulsive visit to her hometown, she stumbles across something she thought she lost all those years ago: family. Her nephew, who should have died, is alive and grown, and an artist, like her.

Unable to stay away, Danielle seizes on the chance to know Colt, hoping it will appease some of her survivor's guilt and allow her old wounds to finally close. But Colt's best friend, Becca, is abducted by Kryrie and his life is once again shredded by these torture-loving demons.

Now, alongside some old and new faces, Danielle and Colt are in a race against a clock to do the impossible: find the Kryries' lair, save Becca, and manage to kill these new Kryrie without sacrificing any more friends.

Amelia Rose has a BA in English and Classical Humanities, but barely remembers any Latin. She lives in Ohio with her husband, and fills every moment of her free time with writing, drawing, making beaded jewelry, or constructing cardboard sculptures. She loves dancing shamelessly to all kinds of music, obsessing over musicals, devouring horror movies-the gorier the better--and going to concerts. She never passes up the chance to ride a rollercoaster or get kisses from a dog.

Fallen Idols is Amelia's debut novel, and the first in an ever expanding series called The Fallen Favorites.

At the beginning I was a bit confused because there was a large jump from boom one to book two with 20 years between books. I feel like there was not much of a transition so it took me a bit. But then I really got into it. I'm loving the new characters.

Fallen Foes starts 20 years after the end of Fallen Idols. Danielle made a choice to be able to stay with her beloved Felkyn. After 20 years she turns back to her hometown and discovers a living family member where she shought there was no one left.

Colt discovers he shares a connection with Danielle through his art. His best friend Becca and he are days away from their first art show when he meets Danielle. As they get to know eachother and the strange connection they have Becca gets kidnapped by Kryrie. In their search for Becca they return to the place where it all began for Danielle. They're joined by some old and new characters, each with their own story.
During their attempts to find the Kryrie and rescue Becca Danielle discovers a new truth about the connection between the Kryrie and Lapsi. A truth that makes her rethink the decison she made. An old Foe comes back for revenge and Danielle finds out she has an important role in getting rid of the Kryrie.

My own thoughts:
I liked book 2 better than book 1, it started of with a mindtwist because of Colts story. From there a lot happend which kept speed in the storyline.
Once everyone was back in Italy it did feel a bit repetitous. Again someone gets kidnapped, again they're back in Rome and again they hunt the Kryrie. Fortunately the story does pick up speed again and i liked the plottwist at the end very much.
I did feel sorry for Riley for yet again having to lose someone he cares about but at the same time was glad both Danielle and Felkyn got their happy end.

I loved this book! It honestly took my brain a few pages to realize what was going on, and then it was like an OMG moment lol. And from there, the story took off and was full of twists to the very end. The author really did a fantastic job of writing a 20 year jump in time perfectly, with plenty of the gaps filled in with either character dialogue or Colt’s unique gift. You didn’t feel yourself wondering what had happened. The new character additions seemed to fit seamlessly into the story, and I loved how the relationship between Colt and Libby grew. Danielle, Felkyn and Riley all returned which made me really happy as well; although I will admit the different dynamic between them from the first book was a change. But I loved the private moments with Felkyn and Danielle. I found myself heartbroken, yet again, with Riley and Adam. WHY??? Why did you do that to us lol? And Riley! And the final twist at the end I never saw coming. She wrapped up the story really well. Definitely check it out!!

After getting hooked in at the end of the last book, this follow-up was hugely anticipated for me! The first (brilliant & huuuge) twist drew me right back into the world, and I loved how the dual POVs merged. These voices were so strong, and I loved the addition of Colt here. He's so charismatic, so in his head, and so strong-willed.

Amelia Rose not only crafted a compelling, fast-paced plot that kept me turning the (digital) page, but strong arcs for both of the main characters. They each had their flaws and their passions, and used them to their advantages in hunting down and overpowering the Kryrie.

The very last twist left my mouth agape. AGAPE. One of those where you look up from the book and glance around to see if anyone else just witnessed what you did. It was so smart and such a good setup for book 3. Which I need to read, like, yesterday.

As we continue the story 20 years later, only for Danielle to discover that her nephew survived and grew up in the system. With her now being Lapsi, and past enemies catching up to them causing more complicated situations, will they survive through this while trying to save His friend and hopefully others?
Prophecies told and timelines linked and bound set in place, the blood that contributed to Cain's (yes the same Cain from the beginning of time) becoming , also ends up being the key to his undoing... But is Danielle strong enough as a 20year old Lapsi to take on a millennial old original. "The original." Read to find out more as we wrap up Danielle's story, but more books to come in this series.

This is a voluntary review after receiving an ARC from the author. I highly recommend reading book 1 (Fallen Idols) first to enhance your enjoyment of this one. It takes place 20 years after Book 1. The pace of the book was a bit slow at the beginning but picked up in the middle and ended with an epic action scene that was both thrilling and satisfying. Interestingly, the two main characters were an aunt( Danielle) and her nephew (Colt). Their separate love stories were actually secondary to the main plot, which held my attention. We read the beginning of Danielle's love story with Felkyn in book 1 and we get Colt's story with Libby in this book. Character development, concepts and storyline captivated this reader. An easy and satisfying read. Also, even though we get a happy conclusion in this book there are hints of a book 3 that I would definitely read.

I'm really enjoying this series! I love how it is quite different from other popular book themes at the moment.

Fallen Foes starts 20 years from book 1, which really surprised me. Considering book 1 left off with a little cliff hanger as far as Danielle meeting her Irish family. I felt like the jump from book 1 to book 2 lacked more of a transition since it starts with Colt's perspective. Granted, I started book 2 immediately after reading book 1 without reading the synopsis, so I was confused for a while.

I received this book as an ARC for free from the author. This book was not as fast paced as the first book and I at first was in shock but I loved the book and the characters, even the new ones were great. I absolutely found the ending to be so good, I ended up crying. I have found both this book and the first to be amazing and I love everything about them. I finished both of them in two days because I couldn't set them down.

I enjoyed the first one but this one was so much better. It starts 20 years after the first one which can be difficult to pull off but Amelia pulls it off so well. The new characters develop smoothly without forcing it on the readers. There’s a few twists and of course more hunting Kryrie. Definitely a must read especially if you lived the first book.

Outstanding would be an understatement! Love and deep friendships added with turmoil to reach the ultimate goal. I highly recommend reading both book one and two! It is an easy read and well written. Amelia Rose knocked this one out of the park!

Not as good as book 1, but I still really enjoyed this one. I wish there was more on her turning since it kinda just starts with her already turned. I was worried it would be cheesy with her finding her family but it definitely wasn't. Really enjoyed this and can't wait to read book 3!

It has a time jump but very beautifully done.
I only have to say that there is a character that deserves better and I hope they get a better story in book 3.
For the rest? Awesome much better than the first

this book is ᴄᴀɪɴ ᴀɴᴅ ᴀʙᴇʟ (yes, that cain and abel) meets ᴠᴀᴍᴘɪʀᴇꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅᴇᴍᴏɴꜱ. need i say more?

… but i will! in the first book, while visiting rome with her best friend, danielle is abducted and held by the kryrie, a group of demons who have only evil intentions. she is tortured for weeks on end, with the kryrie repeatedly healing her only to torture her all over again. she is eventually taken from them by four men: felkyn, riley, colin, and jeremy. these four are lapsi, vampires descended from cain. danielle and the four lapsi are determined to make the kryrie pay for what they did to her and all their other victims, but when they’re betrayed by one of their own, danielle wonders if they will ever be rid of the kryrie. book 2 is a continuation of that story, with both old and new beloved characters, and twists and turns that i didn’t see coming! i loved the addition of colt, i think he was such a loveable character and i appreciated the twist he brought to the storyline. i definitely recommend this one.

Picking up 20 years after the events of Fallen idols, Danielle is now a Lapsi.

Feeling the Lapsi curse and struggling with the itch, Danielle is currently away from Felkyn, when she accidently feeds on a family member she wasn't aware had survived the Kryrie attack back when she was first taken.

Old enemies appear, leaving Danielle and Colton fighting to survive while trying to save Becca.

A fantastic continuation of our badass FMCs story while introducing new characters, Colton, Adam, and Libby. This story is epic, with secrets, prophecy, revenge, liberation, and love with a little added spice 😍

If you love paranormal, supernatural edge of your seat stories, this series is definitely for you 🥰

Oh wow ok Amelia Rose has done it again. From the moment I started this book, I was so invested in the characters. It's hard to do a 20 year time jump but it was executed beautifully.

With Colt's visions, we get a view of Dani's life as a Lapsus and insight into Colt's emotions. Dani struggles with Cain's curse to be seperate while still craving time with her man. This book has so much character development and world building.

Can't wait for book 3 🔥

** I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review**

An interesting take on the lore of vampires! I enjoyed Colton's perspective (as I am also a former foster youth), I also enjoyed the found family vibe in this story! Captivating and tragic, with a side of hope!
