She didn’t want a mate but fate has decided she needs two!
Forced into a world she never chose, Adriana, a witch turned against her will, has found purpose with the Shadow Sisters—warriors dedicated to rescuing women from dire situations. Having vowed never to be chained by a bond again, Adriana's world is upended when fate introduces not one, but two fated mates into her fiercely guarded life.
Greg, the doctor from a pack in the Hamptons, offers a haven of warmth and security with his caring and gentle nature. In stark contrast, Decker, the brooding commander of the guard, stirs a wild desire in Adriana with his fierce protectiveness and dominance. Torn between the comfort of a healer and the passion of a warrior, Adriana finds herself at a crossroads of the heart.
But shadows from her past linger menacingly. The wolf who turned her still lives, maintaining a dark connection that Adriana is desperate to sever. Resolved to end his reign of terror, she embarks on a perilous mission that goes awry, forcing Greg and Decker to put aside their rivalry and combine their strengths in a race against time.
As danger escalates and old enemies resurface, Adriana’s choices will have lasting consequences. Will the combined love of her mates be enough to save her? Or will the power of her own heart lead her to a future she never imagined possible?

The fight with the Shadow League continues in this epic story. Adriana, Greg, and Decker are bound by a fate they never expected. To continue the fight, they must claim each other as fated mates. It was interesting to have three mates bound together. I loved the relationship between them and how unique their bond was with each other. I was touched by their connection and how this found family accepted their fate.

When starting this ARC I got the feeling that I was missing a bit of information. I think this series comes after the Mystic river series, which I haven't read yet. I have a feeling that when you read the series in order, a lot will fall into place. The story took some getting into but was easy to follow. While I'm not a fan of multiple partners in a story, Delta had written this situation in a way that makes it understandable and acceptable. I do feel that the acceptance of both males about their triangle, came too easy. Especially since Decker is a full on Alpha male, I expected him to fight the bond, maybe even try to fight Gage for real. And to have to have a big revelation before accepting. All and all the story isn't a complete stand alone as a series starter in my opinion and it could have been a bit deeper and more detailed, however it is about fate, acceptance and overcoming things. Which makes it a 3,5 starts for me.
As usual Delta’s books never fail to totally satisfy. This one had some interesting twists with the 2 fated mates. All of the the main characters are strong and intricate. I love the interaction between the three of them. The 2 males are so different but complimentary to each other. They think they will be able to control Adrianne but little do they know. And the addition of Erin makes their family just that much richer.

Awesome!! I love this series! Adriana’s story was amazing. I loved her with Decker and Greg. Such good plot lines continue to deepen this story. Spicy intimacy and doors left open for what could come next. I cannot wait.

Set in the same universe is the Mystic River, Otter Cove and Winged Warriors series, this book begins a new series about the Shadow Sisters. Of these, I have only read the Winged Warriors, and I have a feeling that it would have been better to have read at least Shadow Mate from the Mystic River series before this one, is the beginning of the book was a bit obscure without the backstory. However, even without the background, it was possible to follow the story and enjoy the book.
This book focuses on Adriana and her two fated mates, Greg and Decker, and how they must combine to defeat Eoghan, the evil wolf warlock who turned Adriana against her will. The story is exciting, and the little girl that Adriana rescues is a nice character, wise beyond her years. I did feel that the triad snapped into place too easily, and Greg and Decker went from rivals to friends too quickly and with insufficient development. And of course Adriana, like all of Delta James’ heroines, insists in running off into danger by herself. I don’t blame Greg and Decker for wanting to spank her. If she were my daughter, I’d want to spank her too, for such a blatant disregard for security and the chain of command.

This is the first book of Delta's I was not positive, even before picking it up, that I would absolutely love. I'm simply not a menage fan at heart. Let me be clear that I owe her a truly heartfelt apology for my momentary lack of faith. This book was fabulous! It's the start of a new series, yet the arc from the Mystic River and Otter Cove series is yet again put into play. For that reason, i suggest reading those series prior, but its not absolutely necessary. This book focuses more on solving Adriana's predicament than anything else. The dual MMC characters, Greg and Decker, each play a significant part in that, as well as in helping Adriana heal. Following as these three came to terms with Fate, despite themselves, provided for some steamy and exciting reading. Oh, of course this review would not be complete without including young Erin, especially with the adorable role she played with the MMCs.
I apologize for my hesitation to jump into this story with both feet (I should know better than to doubt Queen James)! The gift copy of this book was appreciated and this review was voluntary. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

After a heated kiss between thr two, realization sets in that she is his fated mate. Adrianna is not feeling too good and thr good doctor greg helps her only to realize he has the same symptoms...input from Colby says they are mates....but how can 2 wolves and a she-wolf witch br mates? Adrianna goes into town and rescues a young witch from thr clutches of bad people to learn the girls coven was all but destroyed by Eoghan. They will keep her safe...but who will keep Adrianna safe from the evil clutches and from herself.
Two wolf shifters and a witch! This was wild! Adriana was part of a destiny that she had no clue about. So Greg, who is a doctor and a wolf shifter versus Decker, who is a commander and alpha. They both have the same symptoms whenever they're around her. Which means she has two faded mates! Blows your mind. But there's a reason that is so in depth in this story even though it's not as long as some of Mrs. James's other stories. It is absolutely a great read. Suspense, sassy, hard headed female! Plus, found the audiobook. Hold your applause, because you can get either one and enjoy the story. You're welcome! Solid start to a new (spin-off) series. Adriana is has a unique background and it was cool to see her come into her power. I liked how she, Decker, and Greg worked out their dynamic. I also really enjoyed the dynamic between the guys and Erin. It was sweet to see how quickly they took to her, and her to them, especially considering how much that girl went through. The story had good suspense, and it was goo's to see Colby, Brie, and the rest of the gang.
Shadow Spirit Shadow Sisters: Book 1 by Delta James Adriana is a witch who ends up having two fate mates, one gentle and kind and one strong-willed guy. This story is about The shadow sisters who help a woman who is in a bad relationship or situation get out of it. I loved this book and had read about the Sisterhood in an Otter series. This is well written and easy to follow along the story. I can not wait to read the second book in the series. It is a page-turner and I highly recommend this story. I really liked this book. It was a quick read but had so much substance to it. Adriana is a witch by birth, but is hunted by a nefarious shifter of some sort. Taking refuge in a safe house, the witch who did not want a mate, finds herself in an unusual spot. I loved the way Adriana and her mate(s) figured out their situation and what would be best for them… as well as how loving they were to Erin, the littlest witch.
Awesome story. It was action packed of love story between these characters. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. The chemistry and physical attraction between them were spicy hot and steamy of passion. It was between loyalty and a forbidden relationship and fate mate.
I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Trina Jones
Shadow spirit, where to begin. Although not required, I’d definitely recommend reading the previous series to get the full history of the characters. I felt lost in a few parts, especially the beginning, but nothing major that ruined the overall plot. There were a few scenes that seemed to drag on but then ending scene felt a bit anti-climactic to me. I do like that there were POVs for the three main characters. It was a good read, just not memorable for me.
I absolutely loved the meet/cute when she nailed him in his balls! And then to figure out she had not one but two fated mates. It was interesting how they figured out how to handle the logistics of a threesome. And of course, she gets taken again, but this time she has her men coming for her. Even though the bad guy got away (hoping this will be resolved in the next book) they get their HEA.
This book will take you into so many incredible scenarios yo won’t want it to stop. I totally enjoyed all the tension, chemistry, and complex characters. I loved how they all made sacrifices to keep you immersed. This book will take you places you won’t expect.

I wasn't sure I was going to like it. But I really did, I wasn't expecting werewolves and witches to get along. I liked the story and the chemistry between the main characters and it was very well written. I binged reading this and I could not put it down. I am looking forward to the second book.

Okay, Delta James, this Shadow Spirit: A Steamy Paranormal Romance (Shadow Sisters Book 1)was mesmerizing, with a side of romance, some parts terrifying. But you sure know how to keep us readers reading. Can’t wait for Book 2!!
Delta James, you never disappoint. I have fun reading every book I have come across and never been disappointed. It is thrilling anticipating what is coming next. I can't wait for the next Shadow Sister to fall.
Tragedy turned to Something Beautiful. This is a love story that is intriguing. I enjoyed getting to know the characters, as each one has a place and a purpose. Adriana, decker, and Greg are perfect match. And just with the evil needs to be defeated.
First time reading anything from Delta James. I like how she did her storytelling. It was suspenseful and also still didn't feel rushed or like I was dying inside from all the stress. I love the interactions between the main characters and they were able to bring to life the story well!
I enjoyed the characters and the story lines of this story. I would definitely recommend that it is to be read along with the other books in the series.
More like Ms. James writing of old. Shadow Spirit, the first in the of the two books that make up the Shadow Sisters set. This book is 182- pages long and an easy, entertaining and thought provoking read. I enjoyed this book more than a lot of Ms. James books I've recently read. I did not feel like this was one of her formulaic and repetitive recent books that have shown a quality decline. I think Ms. James wove the triad of mates well into the story but the story itself felt like the solution to the problem pertaining exclusively to Adriana but not to the problem of the evil the Resistance is fighting against. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book Silent Shadows. I recommend it. I received this book as an ARC and am freely leaving my honest opinion.
A fascinating beginning of a new series. A very fast paced, high emotion, intense heat, and a few surprises along the way. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’m not a big fan of triads as love interests. The fact she had two mates, and there was a lot of animacy that I just wasn’t all that distracted a little bit from the story, but not terribly. I like all the characters I was excited about the addition of Erin. I will be glad in the future to read her story.
