In 2024, his sci-fi horror novel *Horizon* won AudiobookReviewer.com's award for Best Dystopian Novel, thanks in part to the gripping narration by frequent collaborator Brandon J. Peterson.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

⭐ "Resurrection" by David W. Adams is a stunning addition to the Dark Corner Universe, and I'm delighted to award it a well-deserved 5 stars!

⭐ From the very beginning, this book had me completely invested. The character of Molly is an absolute standout, and her journey is filled with twists and turns that kept me eagerly turning the pages.

⭐ While I've enjoyed every book in the series, "Resurrection" quickly became my favourite (until "The Land Beyond,"). It's a testament to Adams' storytelling abilities that he can continually raise the bar with each instalment.

⭐ I've heard that some readers may not hold this book in as high regard as others in the series, but I found it to be immensely enjoyable. It marks Adams' first foray into science fiction, and I believe he absolutely nailed it. The seamless integration of references to beloved sci-fi shows added an extra layer of delight for fans of the genre.

⭐ "Resurrection" is not only an easy read but also highly entertaining. It's a book that effortlessly blends suspense, science fiction, and memorable characters into a compelling narrative.

Aftermath starts ten years after Resurrection. The clones are starting to disintegrate mentally. Molly is back, Jaxx is back and they are facing the result of ten years of Decimator attacks on worlds around the galaxy. If the first book was Star Wars a New Hope, then this is definitely the Empire Strikes Back. It's a quick read, and answers the questions raised in the first book, whilst setting up for a climatic finale. Aftermath rattles along at a cracking pace, with never a dull moment. After the destruction of the big doomsday machine in the first book, Molly is hunting down her clones, but the Decimators are always one step ahead of everybody else.

There's a huge cast of characters, with all the main cast from the first book returning, but feeling the pain of the last ten years. As a trilogy, it needs to be read in order, but it is worth it, setting up for the finale in which I'm expecting a Return of the Jedi, but there is a chance the evil Decimator empire could win this one. They have the impetus on their side, and they outnumber, outgun and out think our heroes.

This is a series I'll definitely be finishing.

When David told me this was ready to be proofread, I was so, so excited! Get ready for a thrilling third installment to the Resurrection trilogy! We see elements from David's other books here tying the Dark Corner Literary Universe together - doorways, aliens, the supernatural, unethical military experimentation, insane individuals, and of course, character deaths... but also the bonds between unlikely friends and family even when linear time wouldn't normally allow it. Exciting, emotional, and satisying in it's conclusion, I can't wait to see some of these characters again in The Darkest Corner and Wealdstone: Awakening when they come out!

Wow… I did not expect that! Having read the previous two, my thoughts had turned to a plucky band of survivors taking down the evil, universe spanning empire in a Return of the Jedi fashion. Nope. Complete left turn straight out of the gate, and the entire cast utilise some of David’s previously established dimensional gateways to head back in time and stop the whole shebang before it started. There’s only one word for that approach: masterful. Time travel is tricky. Do you take the multiverse approach? Or the erase the future timeline from Back to the Future route? Or a mix? David has tracked one set of characters with the approach of “It’s their future regardless of how it all works, so they have to deal with that”. With the circuitous and complicated path required to navigate the dimension gateways, David has imaginatively avoided the conundrum of how to stop them simply travelling through time again and again until they get it right. There are some stand out scenes that made me smile in appreciation in this book. All three weave into the overall fabric of David’s universe, pulling together threads I didn’t even know were loose. I was already a fan of his writing before, but now I’m an eager fan, waiting for the next in the Horizon series so I can dive back into another of his timelines.

It is impossible to give this author anything less than 5 stars.
Yet again he has knocked it out of the park with the 2nd in the resurrection trilogy.

If Star Trek, Firefly and Babylon 5 got together and wrote a YA sci-fi fanfic, David’s Resurrection would be the result. This is a good thing. The book rattles along at a cracking pace, building to a wonderful, unexpected twist that answered every question I had.

Milly is driven by incidents in her past. She is trying to find an alien called Torath who has dedicated his life to bringing back extinct species. Like humanity. Humanity is almost extinct. Milly is the last human in the universe after Decimators destroyed the Earth. Not for an interstellar bypass, but for much more nefarious reasons. With a special set of skills, Milly is a strong main character with clear motivations, if murky intentions. She almost abducts Jaxx, a member of a species genetically engineered by humans for exploring space. Together, they hunt for a way to return humanity to the galaxy. Others also want the technology to bring people back from the dead, leading to a cat-and-mouse game on several planets.

Written in a straightforward style, the alien names are easy to pronounce, something of a welcome rarity in sci-fi. Clever use of flashbacks fills in details where required, without detracting from the main storyline. A lot of the book takes place onboard spacecraft, most of which have a Star Trek feel to them. The aliens may be a little too human in how they refer and react to the world around them, but it makes the story easier to follow.

In summary, it’s a nice, easy read. If you’re after hard sci-fi, this isn’t it. If you’re after entertainment on the level of Star Trek, then this is definitely for you.

The authors first go at science fiction - and a welcome one. The characters are easily to follow along with, no complicated jargon or names. There are twists and turns throughout the book that come to a beautiful conclusion at the end. Not hard core sci-fi, but a fun and easy read none-the-less. I'd definitely recommend.

Molly is the last human in the galaxy, and she's on a mission to resurrect humanity - seemingly at any cost.

This is a quick read with plenty of twists and turns plus a satisfying ending, but also enough intrigue to make me immediately pick up the next book!

I really enjoyed this book and would unquestionably recommend it to any sci-fi fans.

I loved this so much, I finished it at 1am!

Aftermath follows on from Resurrection, and you do really need to read them in order to truly appreciate where the characters have come from. However, the events take place way after book one and more than enough happens to make this novella fly by!

No spoilers, just read it for yourself. Book 3 is about to come out, and I'm sooo ready for the end of this fantastic trilogy!

Will the decimators win or can the galaxy survive??

Brilliant story..love his books. So without revealing too much, everything in the galaxy is dead or dying. The only way to save the future is to mend the past...what caused it and how to fix it ? You will have to read the story to find out. I loved the story and the characters. None of them are perfect and it's just these qualities that make the story so good. You will need to get your own copy to find out what's next

Was this where I thought this trilogy was going to go? No.
Did I enjoy it anyway? Absolutely.
The first two books are much more space opera sci-fi, this book masterfully weaves in time travel to save all - well, maybe not all...

Follow on from resurrection. This picks up the story 10 years later.
You need to have read the 1st to be able to understand this one. But it's worth it.
Yet another amazing addition to this authors catalogue and definitely a worthy addition to any sci-fi geeks tbr
