This is a book of short stories where the terrors and the demons arrive one by one and I exercise each in turn. This is the most personal book of shorts I have put together thus far. The stories in here again span my entire writing career, the oldest being more than fifteen years and the newest being only a few months. Contrary to what people might expect, these stories are not horror, they are more science fiction than anything else. The monsters that arrive here are more interesting and fun than the usual blood and guts. In here I play with fairytales and do some retellings of popular pieces. In this anthology I make my first foray into zombies… it’s not what you think. I play with werewolves as well… they might be what you think. I enjoy the concept of the Devil and really like how he is exercised in some films. Actors and writers that understand the complexity of the Devil really seem to have fun with it when they can. Twice I invoke the character of Satan in stories here and both are a lot of fun and give you something to think about. The center piece to all of this is the Shovel stories which are almost indescribable as well as extremely personal to me.
