Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
Kailee Lipshitz accepted long term substitute teaching job as a pastry and baking teacher at the local high school. There she met her one night stand from a couple of months back, Officer Chase Barnett, temporarily working there as the school resource officer.
She couldn’t forget about him and it seems that he has the same problem. When another teacher tries to get it on with Kailee, Chase shows just how much she affects him. He wants her and will do anything to make her his. I loved their chemistry and passion between. They were made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a workplace, accidental pregnancy, romantic comedy then you’re going to love it.

I was very blessed to receive an ARC of Baked and Burned by Tori Ross!
This is book number 2 in the Contact High series and let me tell you, no disappointment here whatsoever!
B&B takes us back to the setting and characters from Contact High but switches around the main characters.
Chase is swoon-worthy in this story and really shows the emotion and abilities of a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go for it.
The complex emotions that Kailee goes through portrays very well what any young female or even middle aged female would be experiencing during the life changes she is about to go through.
Together the story is equipped with great banter and an emotional rollercoaster of will-she won't-she with Kailee's decisions, all the while Chase is giving the support that's needed even is she can't see it at first.
This was a great follow up to the story in Contact High and the character development was above par for me.
I loved that this story touched on real life situations and the struggles that both parties involved have to go through while still keeping the romantic comedy vibe about things.
I cannot wait to read what Tori Ross comes up with next!!!

This is book 2 with author Ross taking us readers back to the lives and loves we were introduced to in Contact High, but this book can easily be read as a standalone. Our main characters are cop and hero extraordinaire Chase and floundering to find her place in life and looking amazing while doing it, Kailee. These two meet as their best friends have come together in Contact High and now these two meet and the chemistry is definitely there. I loved Ross' ability to not just bring the heat but also plenty of sweet and the laughs made it all the better. Plenty of ups and downs due to insecurities and lack of good communication but ultimately love just can't be denied. Well written with captivatingly fun characters. Great dual point of view and smooth flowing storyline I couldn't get enough of! A great read and I can't wait for more from Ross!!!

This is the second book in this impressive series and this is Kailee and Chase’s story.
Kailee accepts a long-term substitute teaching job as a pastry and baking teacher at the local high school, and the last things she expects is to cross paths with Officer Chase Barnett, who is temporarily at the school as a resource officer, and whom she had a one night stand with a few months previously.
This is a well written easy to read story, with friendships, emotions, drama, insecurities, self-esteem issues, misunderstandings, secrets, humor, witty banter, workplace romance, accidental pregnancy, and love, which leads to a spicy and entertaining, captivating page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Real Talk, Real Life, Real Romance
Kailee and Chase hook up one explosive night… and they’re left with a “memento of their time together”, a new relationship is tatters, and a whole lot of talking to do. I laughed out loud one moment and welled up with tears the next, this book has me in such an emotional grip. The rants about the injustices of societal judgement of women in the situation of having unplanned pregnancy was a real rallying call for me, as well as a real eye-opener. On the flip side, that peanut butter scene - wow, that just took things to a whole new level. Above all, I loved this book, I just want to take Kailee and Chase in my arms and huge them. A terrific, joyfully-emotional read.

Now its months later. Kailee accepted a substitute job as the pastry and baking teacher at a local high school, and who does she run into but her one night stand, Officer Chase Barnett who is also working temporary as a school resource officer.
Both of these two couldn’t stop thinking about each other. From the moment they met they had amazing chemistry. Lots of drama, lots of emotion, lots of spice and an easy quick read 😊

I was so excited to get an advance copy of this book from the author as I have been waiting impatiently for this sequel to Contact High. This book DID NOT disappoint! It may be even better than the first one. I can't decide. I LOVE them both. Kailee and Chase are so wonderful, and the character development is top-notch. The decisions and struggles that Kailee, Chase, and their friends go through in this book are real and raw. Check content warnings on this one, and then read it because it is SO WELL DONE. Love love love!!

I really enjoyed this story. I haven't read many books with a police officer as the main male character and I totally swooned over Chase! He is the tall, broad shouldered hunk of cop who falls head over heels for Kailee. She is a long term substitute teacher at the school that Chase is currently the resource officer at. Before they started working together they had a one night stand and their attraction to each other was explosive. This story is a rom com, there are so many funny parts in it that had me laughing. Especially the peanut butter scene, it was sexy and hilarious!

Some of the one liners in this novel are hilarious! While the author doesn’t market this as a rom-com it has plenty of LOL moments! There are a few spicy scenes but this novel does have a serious side. With the current climate around women’s reproductive rights I think that the novel takes a close look at what women with surprise pregnancies face and the impact it can have on someone’s entire life. I thought this was a great novel but make sure that the trigger warnings are reviewed!

A few months after their one night stand, Kailee and Chase meet again when Kailee becomes a substitute teacher at the school where Chase is working.
I really enjoyed the banter between these two. Chase is definitely swoonworthy throughout the entire book.
I’ve already added the first book in the series to my tbr. This one can be read as a standalone, but there are some references that made me curious for the first book.

This is by far the BEST most REAL book I’ve ever read. I didn’t think book could compare to Contact High (Book 1 in the series) and it doesn’t, it’s on a whole different level. While Contact High is what I would consider a 5 star emotional romcom, this book is straight real life for many (although, maybe not the peanut butter). If I could only recommend one book for everyone to read it would absolutely be this book. It’s real, it’s dirty, and oh so peanut buttery delicious!

Great read!
Loved that this story continued from Contact High. Didn’t love the ending, didn’t feel complete with it. Would have liked it to have just a tad more details. But overall, great storyline.

This is the second book in this series. They can be read as standalone books. Kailee is moving forward with her life. She is going to be a long term sub and the local high school for the baking teacher. Chase saved his partner's life on the job and is now working as a resource officer at the local high school while is partner is recovering. He could have done a desk job but that isn't his thing. Kailee and Chase had a one night stand after a friend's wedding. The pair never expected to run into each other especially at the school but here they are. Chase always wondered why she ran. He was hoping for more with Kailee. Kailee can't believe her luck. She never has had good luck with men. She feels like there could be more with Chase but what if things go wrong. He is her best friend's fiance's best friend. It would be so uncomfortable. Life has other plans for them though. Kailee wants more with Chase but keeps him at a distance as well. Chase can't figure Kailee out. But he knows what he wants. He is going to show her how good it could be between them and that he isn't going anywhere. How will Chase react when he learns Kailee's secret? This book was a fantastic read. I have added the first one to my TBR list. Great job Tori.
