Eine relativ gute Auflösung für eine ganz nette Reihe. 🤷♀️
Die Geschichte basiert auf einem Buch , welches ich aber nicht gelesen habe. Der Zeichenstil ist aber wirklich gut.
Die Reihe war generell recht unterhaltsam , aber ich wusste sehr schnell wer der Mörder war.
(Kleiner Spoiler! )Ich fand es auch ein bisschen unsinnig, dass so lange alle gestorben sind, bis es nur noch zwei Leute gab die übrig waren, von denen aber nur einer ein wirkliches Motiv hatte. Dadurch war es ziemlich offensichtlich wer der Täter war. Man hätte lieber nur ein Mordopfer haben können und alle anderen als Verdächtigen.
Die Auflösung wie der finale Plan des Mörders war , war aber ziemlich spannend.
Ich würde die Reihe Insgesamt vielleicht empfehlen, aber nicht unbedingt. Bei vielen Thriller/Crime Mangas gibt es deutlich bessere Storys.

Sorry but for such an incredible build up and surmounting suspense the ending fucking sucked. I saw it coming from miles away so I feel robbed off of my time and mental work and feel utterly dissatisfied. (not the way I had envisioned my 2024 starting off as....)

And then there were none… With Decagon House apparently rid of occupants, it’s left to the police and our stalwart land-based sleuths to pick up the pieces and figure out what happened. But things can be very tricky with murder, including justice…
Okay, let’s jump right to the important part - does this story stick the landing? It does! The ending is classic murder mystery, hinging on a reveal that truly couldn’t work in any other medium besides print, with all the convoluted preparation and split-second timing that has to go off precisely to make it work.
What does not work are the staggered release dates for these collected volumes, none of which included a plot recap or a cast summary. Do not read this story except back to back if you can at all help it, as my own enjoyment was throttled trying to remember who everybody was and where things were left months ago.
There isn’t much surprise here, minus the reveal itself, which was quite solid once I realized what was going on (again, no recap). I liked the elaborate wrap-up, since it begins to show how incredibly easy it is to just let yourself justify evil with minimal effort. Yes, this also recaps the plot, but I want to remember who people are before they reveal the killer, not after.
I particularly liked the way the story twists itself around one last time as well, which you can kind of see coming, but did make things much more sympathetic across the board too. Assumption is a hell of a drug and would dramatically change a second reading of the series.
Still, this isn’t the ultimate mystery story and I would genuinely rather see Kodansha get off their butt and drown me in Kindaichi Case Files reprints, but it’s a definite net positive that won’t leave you feeling underwhelmed; it just isn’t perfect.
But I am also a very, very picky person when it comes to my mystery stories and this one does a good job with a classic set-up, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a classic set-up and if you have genre familiarity there isn’t a lot by way of new ideas. Your experiences will shape how you see this one, even more than usual.
And there’s also a big old ding for directly cribbing the denouement from And Then There Were None…. No matter how much you circumvent going all the way with it, obvious homage is a little too obvious. Without the context of the original story, the use makes zero sense in this context.

Habiendo dicho eso, no se cómo me siento con respecto al final jsjssj pero bueno, los 4 volumenes anteriores estuvieron muy buenos y el dibujo fue hermoso mal. Así que está aprobado, me gustó ;)

No me ha terminado de gustar el último tomo. La resolución y el motivo me han convencido, pero lo que pasa después de eso no. Creo que a perdido un poco de fuerza al final.
Son 5 tomos y no he visto una clara evolución de los personajes.

An absolutely phenomenal twist. A brilliantly genius use of the manga art medium that fooled me quite shockingly for someone so well-versed in mystery stories.
Once the murder plan is laid out for us to bear witness to it we can see just how easy it is to slip into madness, but equally how difficult and the level of hard work was required to consistently pull it off. And for that reason, and despite the ending, I do not feel a shred of sympathy for the murderer. It’s doubly interesting because I can appreciate the layers of complexity of the story by trying to make me feel sympathetic towards the murderer at the end, but I also find the suggestion in the narration from the author’s choice to make Conan cry for the murderer in one of the very last scenes and the murderer’s confession in the end, that we should feel sorry for them quite abhorrent. But then again that could just be my bias against them for what they did to Ellery. Or it could just as easily be the natural predilection of any reader who witnesses this entire vol’s breakdown of the elaborate ruse the murderer pulled off with their premeditated thoughts.
The twists were stellar. Some of the best I’ve ever seen and unbelievably creative. There’s a note from the author at the end where they state that sadly the story couldn’t work as a TV show due to the style of the twist, but I disagree, I think this story would be brilliant as an anime. I would personally love to watch that!
I loved that the story dedicated a whole vol to the reveal after ending the previous vol on a semi-cliffhanger. So it’s surprising that the ending still felt a little rushed in the sense that there was no time left to see justice being served on the murderer. Though that’s not necessarily a failing of the manga, it’s more of a personal preference that a confession alone is never enough for me. Leaving the story on the cliff edge of justice (quite literally!) is a stylistic choice that actually works very well for this story and complimented the last minute twist well.
The stylistic choices in general for this manga series are so well-crafted. The series as a whole is an ode to the classic murder mystery and everything from giving the characters mystery writers’ names to the setting of the Decagon House reminded the reader of this again and again. What we ended up with was a fantastic blend of old school murder mystery and new age suspense all rolled into one and the different aspects can speak to different readers making the audience for this manga wider than if the author had just stuck to one style of mystery. And it doesn’t hurt that the art is beautiful on every single page.
As an aside from my gushing praise for this arguable masterpiece, I am sadly not satisfied to leave the Decagon House as it is. Did they really all end there? I know it happened and yet I don’t want to believe it so. It’s a testament to the depth of the character portrayals that for me they all felt very real and their endings feel more raw than I could really convey. It will be hard to move on from the fantastic premise and even more brilliant execution of this manga and it will likely stick in my mind to be recalled whenever I need to remind myself of a perfect murder mystery done absolutely right.

¡Llega el último tomo de Los asesinatos de la mansión decagonal! Esta es una reseña SIN spoilers de este manga de misterio de 5 tomos en el que un grupo de 7 estudiantes universitarios, miembros del club de misterio, van a la isla de Tsunojima atraídos por un enigma sin resolver. Sin embargo, tras su llegada, pronto comenzarán a percibir una presencia amenazadora que los acecha y será evidente que alguien quiere acabar con ellos de la forma más retorcida posible.
Este manga comienza con una premisa de misterio relativamente clásica, a mí me recordó al libro de Y no quedó ninguno de Agatha Christie, ya que es la misma premisa de un grupo atrapado en una isla y un asesino misterioso que acecha. El giro que hace un poco diferente este manga es que al mismo tiempo tenemos a Kawaminami y Shimada tratando de resolver otro misterio, relacionado con lo que está ocurriendo en la isla, pero sin saber nada de lo que está ocurriendo. Así, tenemos dos tramas misteriosas entrelazadas que consiguen mantener la tensión a lo largo de toda la historia.
Los personajes son muy carismáticos y, aunque alguno queda un poco más descafeinado, en general son interesantes, inteligentes y con personalidad, destacando sobre todo Leroux. Estos personajes, la interesante historia y un dibujo espectacular, hacen que en conjunto este manga sea muy disfrutable y recomendable. Además, la resolución final del misterio en el último tomo me ha sorprendido y gustado mucho, es un giro que no me veía venir, pero que cobra sentido con todo lo que te cuentan y cuando conectas todos los puntos.
En definitiva, Los asesinatos de la mansión decagonal es una serie manga cortita, muy disfrutable para los amantes del misterio y para las personas que quieran meterse en este mundo. Con una historia interesante y un dibujo increíble, pienso que cualquier lectore puede disfrutar de esta obra.

Meno, lecturita de festivo.
Un buen misterio adaptado por el propio autor y un ilustrador con el que ya había trabajado (En Another por si alguien quería el dato. Anime interesante, aún no me leo la novela de la que viene). En general esta bien, el misterio alrededor de los asesinatos en la casa y el trabajo por descubrir el culpable esta muy bien trabajado y la revelación del culpable es super satisfactoria.
Entiendo un poco el porqué de los comentarios que lei por ahi que decian que la novela original era inadaptable a un medio visual, pero el manga trabaja muy bien haciendo que, incluso en animo de intentar resolver el misterio, sea muy dificil cerrarlo hasta que las pistas van llegando a uno.

Ehmmmm simplemente brutal. ¿Los giros de este manga? brutales. ¿La construcción de los personajes? brutales. ¿la trama? brutal.
Si os ha gustado Diez negritos tenéis que leer esta readaptación japonesa. Es increíble cómo el ambiente de la isla, la inquietud de los personajes, la lluvia, el pasado oscuro de la mansión decagonal te envuelven constantemente. Me he leído un libro tras otro en 3 días, y porque tenía que trabajar. Si hubiese estado en casa habrían caído los cinco de un tirón.
Os la recomiendo muchísimo.

La fin est quelques peu attendue. J'aurai aimé être prise de court et surprise plus grandement. J'ai trouvé ce dernier tome en deçà des autres, mais j'ai tout de même apprécié mon moment de lecture. Je recommande aussi aux lecteurs du manga de se plonger dans le roman duquel il a été adapté, puisqu'il y aurait quelques différences entre les deux œuvres.

Il y a eu plusieurs mois entre la lecture du tome 4 et du tome 5 et je ne le conseille à personne ; j’étais duper.
En vrai, c’est un polar très « classique », très « Ils étaient dix », on ne hésite pas trop longtemps sur l’identité réelle du meurtrier, le dénouement fait très infodump de grand méchant, il manque que le rire diabolique (ou la musique triste, tout dépend dans quel camp on est).
Mais ! en vrai, je suis curieuse du vrai bouquin, quelle adaptation réelle et quels changements (l’auteur du roman original laisse d’ailleurs un mot à ce propos) – le dessin est très joli, compréhensible, accessible également, c’est vraiment un gros plus de l’œuvre.

Overall I enjoyed this manga adaptation but I thought the identity of the killer was so obvious from the beginning. This volume felt somewhat less enjoyable due to the large amount of info dumping in the final chapters, which actually might work better in the novel? Looking forward to comparing this series to the book sometime.

I love how much more fleshed-out the characters are in the manga than the original novel. The 4-koma theaters at the end of each volume are pure gold. Also I could probably write a whole dissertation about how devastating the changes made to Chiori’s death are here, ESPECIALLY in the last chapter.

Creo que es en el cuarto donde hay un dibujo de Ellery y el resto con sus caras en cartas de poker y yo como: uy, que raro, ¿por qué no está Morisu pero sí están Shimada y Kawaminami? Meh, será porque no sale tanto.

Encima todo tiene sentido. Y me encanta que expliquen todo desde su perspectiva, me ahorra tener que releer todo para saber cómo y dónde estaba en cada asesinato.
Y LO HACE TODO PARA NADA. Es que aunque Chiori ya hubiese estado muerta, joder, los otros pobres no tenían la culpa de que Ellery hubiera decidido quitarle el chaleco. Estoy segura de que no sabía si estaba viva o muerta, osea que él sí que podría haberse culpado hasta que le dijeron que ya había muerto. ¿Pero el resto? Pobres, no hicieron nada.
Qué bueno, me ha encantado.

Y es que en realidad podría haberlo al menos sospechado si hubiera reflexionado más. Creo que es en el cuarto donde hay un dibujo de Ellery y el resto con sus caras en cartas de poker y yo como: uy, que raro, ¿por qué no está Morisu pero sí están Shimada y Kawaminami? Meh, será porque no sale tanto.
IDIOTA. ERA PORQUE YA ESTABA VAN AHÍ, SON LA MISMA PERSONA.
Encima todo tiene sentido. Y me encanta que expliquen todo desde su perspectiva, me ahorra tener que releer todo para saber cómo y dónde estaba en cada asesinato.
Y LO HACE TODO PARA NADA. Es que aunque Chiori ya hubiese estado muerta, joder, los otros pobres no tenían la culpa de que Ellery hubiera decidido quitarle el chaleco. Estoy segura de que no sabía si estaba viva o muerta, osea que él sí que podría haberse culpado hasta que le dijeron que ya había muerto. ¿Pero el resto? Pobres, no hicieron nada.

I largely enjoyed this. I thought the art was good, and thought they adapted it well.
There are some changes, some I like better, some that doesn't really matter and one big one I don't really care for.
If you don't want to be spoiled, just know that I recommend it, and I really recommend the novel.

Mamma mia, che thriller! Ben scritto e ben disegnato.
Come ho già scritto nel commento al primo volume, questa è la mia seconda esperienza con i manga e sono molto contenta di avergli dato un'altra chance: un'ottimo prodotto, non c'è che dire.
La trama intriga dalla prima pagina e la storia è avvincente, senza ombra di dubbio posso definire quest'opera un page-turner: non si riesce a posare sul comodino finché non l'hai finita.
I personaggi sono affascinanti e misteriosi e anche se sono tanti non è difficile seguirli (meno male che la maggior parte non usa nomi giapponesi, altrimenti sarebbe stato un casino star loro dietro per me :D).
Il plot-twist è sempre dietro l'angolo.
Il finale mi ha lasciato un po' in sospeso, come se la storia non fosse davvero finita e lasciasse una porta aperta per un eventuale seguito. Ma questa è una mia supposizione :)

Ça y est, voici le tome de résolution où enfin on comprend tout ! Avec un modus operandi comme on en rencontre dans la série « Columbo ». C'est parfois un peu tiré par les cheveux, mais comme l'explique elle-même la personne responsable de tous ces meurtres, le succès de son plan dépendait en grande partie de la chance, outre son ingéniosité et ses connaissances. Et si elle nous révèle directement ses actions, sachez que quelqu'un découvre tout de même ses méfaits, comme dans toute bonne detective story.
J'ai trouvé la toute fin un peu abrupte voire confuse (entre réalité et hallucination), mais les explications la précédant élucident tous les meurtres.
L'auteur du roman original et scénariste du manga a écrit un petit texte à propos de cette adaptation, et c'est vrai qu'il aurait été très difficile de transposer le roman en film ou série, et que le dessinateur a très bien su jouer avec les représentations ; l'avantage de la BD sur la vidéo.

Wow enserio me ha encantado.
Jamás sospeche, lo que puede hacer un rencor. y lo peor es que al final al saberse lo de Chiori, nos damos cuenta de todo lo perdido, que distintas serian las cosas.
una gran obra, que me dejo con los sentimientos a flor de piel. son una sensación de desasosiego y una tristeza enorme. Lo que pudo haber sido si hubiera hablado y no dominado por la ira y la venganza.
En cuanto a la edición de esta obre me gusto la calidad por parte de Distrito Manga y que en este ultimo tomo incluyera la caja para hacer tu boxset. algo que aprecio mucho y que me encantaría que otras editoriales hicieran.
Buenísima obra al igual que Another, su autor no defrauda al igual que el mangaka. Mega recomendable si es que te gusta este genero.

Plot twist upon plot twist upon plot twist. Seven murder mystery club friends travel to an isolated island for a week. After a week, only one of them returns home alive. When the college student wake up, they find tablets labled Murderer, Detective, and victims. They quickly realize that their lives are in danger but they have no way to contact anyone. The murder mystery fanatics discuss potential suspects and motives for murder within and outside the group. After several deaths, the group begins to realize that maybe they are being held accountable from the death of a former murder mystery club member a year before. As the story unravels, there are plot twists at every turn.

Okay, mit dieser Auflösung hab ich echt absolut nicht gerechnet! Richtig gut durchdacht und umgesetzt! Mega! Und als wär das nicht schon total faszinierend, wurde noch ein weiterer Twist eingebaut! 🔥
Optisch einfach mega gezeichnet, sowohl die Charaktere, als auch Hintergründe. Auch die Emotionen kamen so gut zur Geltung! Die Idee und Darstellung von allem ist richtig nice! Ich kann's nicht anders erklären, haha 😂
Anfangs zog es sich ein wenig.. aber spätestens ab dem ersten Mord wurde es dann so richtig interessant und spannend!
Wenn man also auf Krimi steht, dann unbedingt mal reinlesen! Es ist übrigens eine Roman-Adaption (die mich jetzt auch sehr interessieren würde... 👀)

👉 I can’t say I didn’t expect the criminal to be who he was, because I did. 👀 but I didn’t know his motive.
👉 In this final volume I found out how everything took place, how he acted and why he did everything in that certain manner.
👉 And I said before, I’d have liked if two of the characters had a bigger presence in the story. 🥺
👉 I’m sad that it ended this way, but I’m glad I read such a great story. 👀
👉 Got I book hangover and now idk what to read to put me in the mood 🥲

A visual adaptation of this story seems impossible, and in most parts it is, if you have a sharp eye. If you don't know the narrative then this adaptation might still be a mystery. It's a fairly honest 1 for 1 with the original story. While I did appreciate several changes made to the story (Kawaminami being a woman instead of a man, the final revelation, etc.) a few hurt the impact of the deaths, especially how they change the inciting incident which ultimately changes the original ending into an inferior ending (in my opinion).
