I've been following this author for awhile now. She writes books I like to read. I like how she writes about the past and ties the characters to the present. This book starts in the present time and drug addiction. The middle of the book is set during WW2 and you will see how the characters are related and were introduced in the previous book. The end wraps up in present time and knowing the story will be continued to the next book. This is a good series..well worth the time to read.
Loved this book, as well as the first of this series. It was fascinating to read the stories about the women building airplanes during WWII. I like historical novels and this novel really drew me into the story line. It was interesting how the author switched from the present to the past, then tied it all together by going to the present again. I recommend this book.
Love this book, heartbreaking story of a family dealing with current day addiction with their one son and flashbacks to life during World War II, the wives and children left behind and the brave men who fought and the link between the past and the present time and the answer to how a woman badly injured in the war efforts found love and established a beautiful family.
It was so good to get back to get back to lavender bay and its wonderful characters. The storyline was brilliant and tastefully woven into the story. The characters are loyal, strong and great family values. I can't wait to read book 3. A must read. Enjoy
I found this book enjoyable, but a little disjointed. I kept waiting for " the whole story" about the St. Christopher and the great grandmother! I will read the next one, as I like the family story, and the character development of each new member, as it comes to life.
This book was amazing with all of the situations all of the families in the town worked through. Each case showed how a family can stick together and make it. I like hoe Michele goes back in time. I am looking forward to reading the next one.
I read the first book in this series and I was hooked. The reading is realistic. The characters are well developed. This 2nd book in the series jumps ahead a couple of generations but they get blended together. I will go on to book 3.
This was such a good book! It touches on many difficult situations, both modern and those common in the 1930's. But despite that, the storyline was hopeful and just really good.
I loved this story of two families that endure some of the most difficult times of their lives and how they come through it stronger and closer to each other.
Addictions reach well beyond the people experiencing them. This story quietly chronicled how a family experienced a member's addiction and coped. I highly recommend it.
This book is the 2nd book in this series and is a continuation of the characters lives introduced in the first book. Enjoy the dual time lines with interesting character development, and how the author connected these time lines. A great read and you will have a hard time putting this book down.
