When I picked up “Practical Anger Management for Parents,” I was excited about how it would help transform my parental experience. My six-year-old's emotional development is a top priority for me, and I wanted to gain the skills to communicate effectively and traverse the emotional minefield. Thus, I had high hopes with this selection in hand.
"Practical Anger Management for Parents" serves as a compass for caregivers navigating parent-child relationships. This is especially critical when dealing with a complex sea of emotions. This book, in particular, focuses on anger management. The author, Krissa Laine, methodically constructs a roadmap for growth by first laying down the sturdy groundwork. Only after this foundation is set does she unveil a treasure trove of strategies and techniques designed to aid parents in fostering meaningful connections with their children.
What a wealth of information this book provided! I gained a better understanding of who I am and how various internal and external factors influence how I may react or overreact to my child. Thanks to Laine, I have a lot to ponder and more tools in my arsenal to be more successful. This book is a blessing because it brings to light ideas and viewpoints that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
Unresolved anger can feel like an internal volcano about to explode. Anger management is often an overlooked aspect of parenting. Here is a book I can use raising two teenagers.
Life is different now than from when I grew up. As a parent, I must adapt. Kids are exposed to things that I was never exposed to. That exposure creates rapid development changes in kids. It is up to me to create a more supportive environment for my kids’ growth. The author discusses anger’s root causes, triggers, and potential impacts on the family.
Laine is very compassionate and encouraging. I recommend this book to all parents and caregivers who are striving to foster healthy relationships with the kids in their life.
Raising children can be a blessing, but it can also be infuriating sometimes. Your child might be rambunctious and misbehave, but you love them, and it’s easy to feel conflicted. Also, regardless of how much they drive you crazy, the medical community in modern times frowns on you using physical punishment on a child. Accordingly, you must find other, healthier ways to discipline them.
This book teaches you about some alternate methods that will make sure your relationship with your child remains intact and loving while you raise them. You will learn how to calm yourself and to act reasonably, even on occasions when your children are causing you the most distress.
I am a dad of a one year and six months old little boy and although he is very young, as the months go by I am starting to notice his personality even more. He is in those moments where he wants everything he points to or wants to be done or given to him. Laine's work has given me fantastic tools to put into practice with my little one. As I have been reading, I have been applying them more rigorously and I am indeed starting to notice results. My son increasingly understands that his angry outbursts are not taking him away and I see that his attitude has changed when a whim is not granted.
This is a book to create better dynamics handling the anger.
Only a parent who knows how to manage their own emotions will know how to teach their children to have control over themselves and this book is perfect for all those who are committed to respectful parenting and to being the best guides for their children's life journey.
In this book, you will find theory, methodologies and practical exercises that will allow you to go through the anger leading you to implement dynamics that will favor the family environment and the relationship with your children.
I recommend to read this book and always have it with you to consult whenever you need it!

I love that Krissa Laine reminds us early on that emotions are part of the human experience. One of the biggest lessons that I learned from this book is about adaptability. If we don’t adapt to our kids’ changes as they develop, we won’t be able to prevent rigid approaches that could cause conflicts. We have to adjust our parenting appropriately. This mindset has made a world of difference in my parenting style. Even things like negotiating different boundaries can make a huge difference in everyone’s lives. Definitely recommend to all of the parents out there.

It’s a vital resource for any parent seeking to cultivate a nurturing and harmonious home environment. A must-read for parents committed to raising happy, well-adjusted children.
I was drawn to it because a list of 44 techniques seemed like a concise way to take in information as I don’t like to read the same thing said in 3 different ways. It was a short book with great reminders. It was validating to feel that I didn’t learn anything groundbreakingly new. I’m definitely hit or miss on parenting books and this one was good, but it just wasn’t what I was looking for. I am looking for books about deepening the parent-child relationship in early to middle childhood, so I guess I’ll keep looking and stay open to suggestions.
That said, I am giving it a good rating because I think there’s good content, even if it wasn’t what I wanted at this time.
Although I bought this one thinking about a family member, it intrigued me because I rarely see a guide like this. I was pleasantly surprised with the insights on how parents should work when anger takes over them, and also, it helps them find things that may be triggering that and help strengthen the relationship with their children.
Wow! As a parent of three, I highly recommend this resource to every parent out there. It really helped me see where I can make improvements because the information is so relatable. The bonus worksheets and download material are also incredibly useful, so don't forget to download them!
Honestly not sure why I picked this book up. But I did find some useful and practical tips although the book seemed repetitive, the content was organized well.
