The Haunting of Hill House meets The Only One Left in this chilling psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last twist...
Georgia Harris was eight years old when her mother tried to kill her. For twenty years she’s been haunted by one question…Why? Why would a mother want to erase her only child from this world? It’s been nearly a decade since Georgia walked the haunted halls of her childhood home–vowing to hold onto the one promise she made herself. A promise to never return. Until her father falls ill, and Crane Manor comes calling–and she can’t refuse the summons. Not when there’s a chance to see him again. Ian Foster, the boy who stole her heart and destroyed it. But Georgia has secrets of her own, and she’ll stop at nothing to keep her daughter safe from the ghosts of her past that she thought Crane Manor buried years ago.
Danielle Morris has been an avid reader her whole life and always dreamed of one day writing her own novels. She loves reading and writing about complex and flawed, but highly relatable characters that make you laugh, cry, and feel all the things. If she’s not reading or writing she’s likely spending quality time with her husband and two kids. She loves starting her day with a good cup of coffee, traveling, and being creative in other areas.
Maybe I'm biased, but I think this is the greatest thing I've ever written.
Things you can expect in IN ALL MY DREAMS:
🪻A romantic thriller with paranormal twists 🪻Hill House meets Riley Sager *vibes* 🪻Creepy ghosts with tortured secrets 🪻Second chance at love 🪻Eerie manor house setting 🪻Secret love child 🪻A dash of open door spice 🪻Lies, betrayal, revenge, murder 🪻And as in all my books, a sassy orange tabby cat named Horton.
Thank you to narrator Dana Morris for providing an audio review copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is very much *my type* of book and I was really enjoying it up until the very end. I think the narrator did an amazing job with the audiobook. I'm sorry for spoilers, but I have to rant about the ending because it kind of ruined the book for me.
Content Warnings: child death, loss of a child, loss of a parent, murder, ill parent, miscarriage (mentioned)
Narration: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed Dana Morris's narration. She does a fantastic job bringing the characters to life (I thought Auden's voice was particularly fitting). The sound production is really cleanly edited. The only critical notes I have is that throughout the book there are unnaturally long pauses between words in the same sentence and unusually brief pauses between sentences. The pause lengths caught my attention just because that is something I listen for, but I don't think the majority of readers will find them disruptive to the book's pacing.
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ In general, this is very much the type of story I naturally gravitate towards. Gothic "manor," reunited lovers, ghosts, haunting secrets. For the most part, I found the book really engaging. The story and writing style reminded me a bit of Brenda Novak, whose Gothic novels I love. I agree that the comparison to The Haunting of Hill House is fitting, but the TV show version, not Shirley Jackson's novel. However, two things bothered me--one forgivable, one less so. Sorry in advance for spoilers, but I have to rant here.
The Forgivable:
The Unforgivable:
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Except for the "unforgivable" plot point I mentioned above, this would have been an enjoyable book if not a standout original. However, because of that issue, I cannot recommend the book.
In All My Dreams comes out tomorrow (!!!) October 2nd and sweet Danielle let me read it as an ARC. As previously stated many times, I very rarely sign up for ARCs, but this is the second of Danielle’s that I’ve read and I loved this one even more than the first.
What a cool, creepy story that is absolutely perfect for this time of year!! Danielle promised Hill House vibes and that turned out to be so true that I was picturing some of the characters as Hill House (show) actors. Loved it.
Obviously, my #1 favorite part was the cat Horton, a big orange tabby not unlike my own little menace whose main job was cuddling, eating, and protecting. But a close second was the STORY!! Captivating, dark, twisty and romantic. I predicted a thing or two but Danielle kept me questioning and second guessing my predictions left and right. The “I KNEW IT!!!” I got to scream at the end was sooooo satisfying.
I highly recommend adding this sweet and spooky story to your TBR lists for this Halloween season. And tell my friend Horton I say hi!! 👻♥️
This book came at JUST the right time and hit me in the best way!
I loved it so much.
From the character development to the constant guessing as to what the eff is going on, Morris really put her soul into this book.
Georgia is living her life in California with her daughter when she finds out her father is sick. They travel back to Crane Manor, where she grew up, and she is immediately faced with her mother's ghost and the many secrets left to be revealed (and there are a lot).
The writing style is easy to follow and the pacing has you wanting to keep turning the pages late into the night when you should be sleeping. I devoured this book and the ride it took me on!
Highly recommend if you love: +A binge-able thriller +Ghosts +Haunted house +Spiiiiice +So many secrets
Thank you, Danielle, for giving me another chance at reading your books early. I am always so happy to beta read for you and so thankful for the opportunity <3
In All My Dreams follows Georgia as she’s called back home to see her ailing father. With her, she brings her daughter and her cat Horton (my fave). When she arrives back at the manor, nervous about confronting her past, she has to stare it right in the face.
Georgia has to gripe with seeing her childhood best friend and love again for the first time in six years, while dealing with the return of her nightmares and seeing her mother’s ghost.
The way that Danielle tells this story is both romantic and chilling. Ian is so sweet, all he wants is to spend time with and care for Georgia and Auden. The poor guy really got put through the wringer his whole life and just wants to be happy. Meanwhile poor Georgia has sleep paralysis and horrific nightmares, plus she sees the ghost of her mother as she died in a gruesome way.
This book had me spooked so bad in parts but I could not put it down, I NEEDED to know what was going to happen!
In All My Dreams comes out October 2nd, add to your TBRs and preorder now!
In her latest novel, IN ALL MY DREAMS, Morris takes us on a haunting, harrowing tale of romantic suspense when Georgia Harris and her daughter are forced to return to Georgia’s gothic, childhood home after receiving word her father is ill. Georgia knows that in doing so, she’ll be forced to deal with the ghosts of her past—both literally and figuratively—all while trying to protect her daughter.
The stakes are raised at every corner, and as a reader, I felt every ounce of Georgia’s fear and pain. The web Morris has spunneth is one I’m still trying to wrap my brain around. THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE truly meets Riley Sager in this jaw-dropping thriller!
Read if you like: 🪻 Romantic suspense 👻 Ghost stories 📖 Plot twists you didn’t see coming 💓 Childhood friends to lovers 🌙 Gothic setting
If Danielle can do one thing, it is dark and twisty. BUT she does more than one thing right, and does them well, let’s be honest. This book is great, and probably my favorite of hers so far. From sobbing, to being on the edge of my seat, from shouting in Danielle’s DMs. In All My Dreams made me feel so many emotions. I normally don’t care for second chance romance or friends to lovers, but this one really got me. This is such a beautifully complex story. You walk into it expecting just a creepy ghost story, and trust me Danielle delivered on this front. But you get so much more than that. You get to see the main characters navigate their past and everything that has happened to them to get us to this point. The ghosts of the past and the present don’t stop for nothing. I was SCREAMING over Georgia and Ian the entire time, they drove me crazy in the best way. And oh, i am a sucker for their always being a pesky lovable cat in every single Danielle book. (PS, please name one after my cat someday so it can make my life.)
I had a few theories on the ending because I’m good with catching sneaky clues, but it did not take away from the end at all, and it was so much more complex than just the “who”. I was also pleasantly surprised that some dual POV was tossed in there, my other weakness. I couldn’t put this book down, and that is always the best feeling.
Thank you for trusting me with your newest book baby (and thanks for the book hangover.) I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and i have the video of me sobbing at that ending to prove it.
In All My Dreams is out October 2nd, just in time for spooky season. 👻🖤
Danielle came in swinging with this one and really kept us on our toes the entire damn book!
The beginning of the book is the definition of “bitch what the fuck?!”. I was immediately invested in this story and the characters. In Georgia backstory and what all happened to her.
There was an immaculate balance between the spooky & creepy, the who and/or why did it, and the beautiful second chance romance between Georgia and Ian.
Auden was such a breath of fresh air. That kid was absolutely hilarious and spunky as hell.
I loved that although I had my suspicions and was ultimately right in my theories of the who and why it was still such a great journey to finding out the truth of everything that unfolded 20 years prior. I second guessed myself so much because she did such a good job of throwing you off track and planting seeds of doubt at every turn!
The ending was wrapped up so freaking well! I was on the edge of my seat during those final moments.
This book is perfect for anyone who loves their romance books but wants a little thrill sprinkled in between! 👏🏼
I devoured this book. No, seriously. I started on it in the afternoon, and finished late in the evening. I was so mad every time I had to put it down!
This book has so many elements that I love in a spooky tale. There is tension, there is drama, there is murder and mystery. Add in a secret child, possible second chance love (third chance?), and a dash of family secrets, and it gets better. And then there is Horton. The cat. He doesn't do much, but he lives his best cat guardian life and we love him for it.
If you like Gothic, romantic mysteries, friends to lovers to enemies to ???, secrets and lies, and paranormal encounters, give this book a shot! It publishes October 2, and I promise you will not be disappointed. And Danielle, thank you for trusting me with an ARC of this. I will forever be a fan!
I just want to thank Danielle for sending me an advanced reader copy of In All My Dreams! This book was absolutely amazing. I finished this in 24 hours because I could not put it down and I just had to know what would happen next. There were so many twists and turns that had me shocked and had me feeling so many different emotions. Every character in this book went through something so traumatic and heartbreaking. The ending had me in tears, but in a good way. This is the perfect spooky, second chance Fall romance and it was beautifully written. 🖤
This was SOOO GOOD! Talk about sucking me in and a page turner. From chapter 1 I just had to keep going and know what happened next. [full review to come later]
I really enjoyed In All My Dreams by Danielle Morris. It’s such a great mix of romance and paranormal thriller, with beautiful, emotional characters that felt so real.
Georgia and her daughter travel back home after hearing about her father's illness. But when she gets there, she's haunted by the presence of her past and her mother's ghost. Someone's trying to hurt her, but who? I kept thinking I had it figured out, but I was so wrong, and honestly, that made it even better!
The ending was incredibly satisfying and emotional in a way that left me smiling.
Danielle’s writing style is beautiful and so full of heart; she knows exactly how to pull you into the story and make you care deeply.
If you’re looking for a heartfelt read with suspense and surprises, this one is a must!
First, I’m so thankful to have been chosen as an ARC reader.
This book put me THROUGH IT!!! I have no words. No thoughts. I cried (a lot lol), I laughed, I audibly said “what the hell” multiple times. I wasn’t ready for it to end.
From beginning to end, she had me hooked. The love and passion between Georgia and Ian. The instant connection between Ian and Auden. From kicking my feet giggling to being distraught the literal next page. I loved every second!
Danielle, this was beautiful. I wish I could go back and read it again for the first time. Your best yet. I can’t wait for the next!

I was so grateful to receive this ARC in exchange for an honest review! No spoilers, but hints at the storyline ahead.
3.5 🌟 In All My Dreams was a fast-paced psychological thriller with hints of horror and a romantic storyline.
I really enjoyed the pacing of the book, the different POVs and the way the story came together at the end. I will say that I guessed the twist about 75% of my way into the book, but it didn’t make it any less enjoyable.
I thought the writing was very well done and kept me turning the page. I finished the book in one sitting! I think that some of the story could have been fleshed out a bit more, but I loved everything on the page. I also wish we would’ve seen a little bit more conflict between Ian and Georgia in present-time throughout the book. Overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing what Morris writes next!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. First, I had a lot of fun reading this book. It was cool to predict what was gonna happen and find out the truth behind it all. I loved Ian and Georgia! I'm a sucker for childhood friends to lovers and second chance romance so I devoured this book! I loved their dynamic, how Ian was always there for her, and how Auden was Ian's daughter from the moment he saw her even if he didn't know it yet. They were some wholesome, and I adored reading about them. Next, the plot twists! I won't spoil anything, but they were crazy. I was able to pick up on the small details of who and what everything and everyone was, but it was executed really well. Just enough details to give you clues yet not too many to give it away. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and thank you to Danielle Morris for choosing me to be part of your ARC team!!!
I received an advanced reader copy of In All My Dreams and here is my honest review:
DANIELLE!!! You put me through it. I had the hardest time putting this down (and I had to because #momlife). When I saw the description as The Haunting of Hill House meets The Only One Left, i knew I was in for a treat! This is the perfect book for this time of year, the release date couldn’t be more perfect.
When she left Crane Manor ten years ago, Georgia Harris vowed she would never return. She had lost too much to that house, first her best friend and then her mother. After learning her father had fallen ill, she has no choice but to be by his side. Haunted by her past by both the living and the dead, Georgia makes her way back home to uncover the secrets of Crane Manor and the only love she’s ever known, Ian. Georgia goes on a learning journey of love and loss to find that things are more than they appear.
This book caught my attention from the start. As a new mother, the story of Georgia and Caroline grabbed a hold of my heart. I could see a bit of myself and my own little love written on the pages. Morris’ story read so smoothly. The occasional alternate points of view and flashbacks added so much more to the main character and her storyline. While I found myself intrigued and curious about the side characters; wanting to learn more, Georgia’s point of view was my favorite. I loved this book from start to finish, I didn’t see the twist coming!
If you’re looking for a spooky fall read with a second chance romance, definitely grab this one!! This is going to be my entire personality for weeks! Thoughts and prayers for my family.
I had the wonderful opportunity to receive an ARC by Danielle Morris. A captivating journey awaits in Danielle Morris's latest work (In All My Dreams) This is an engrossing read with vivid imagery, this ARC by Danielle Morris captivated me from the first chapter. It was a cinematic experience, weaving dark twists/plot twists with elements of love and compassion✨🖤 A must-read for fans of atmospheric thrillers. Highly recommended for those who appreciate intricate storytelling and deep emotional journeys🥹❤️ I really enjoyed the MFC & MMC & my favorite little firecracker✨Danielle created so much!!🩷🩷 Most definitely read this book if you’re a big fan of The Haunting of Hill House series you will find a thrilling read that most definitely lingers long after the last page! Still thinking about it while writing this!!! Loved the book tropes!! that was written beautifully🥰❤️ 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Romantic thriller with paranormal twists. Hill house meets riley sager vibes. Second chance romance. Eerie manor house setting. Lies betrayal revenge murder. Secret love child. Creepy ghosts with secret child. Ahhh loved every second of those tropes❤️ Danielle lastly book. In All My Dreams🪻 Will be available October 2nd✨🖤 Or Definitely Preorder it today!! which you can do in the Author’s bio on social media @Daniellemorriswrites on instagram🤩🤩
Georgia’s mother tries to kill her when she’s only eight years old. Twenty years later she’s still wondering why.
If that isn’t a great hook to make you want more I don’t know what is. Pitched as a romantic thriller with comps to Haunting of Hill House and Riley Sager I had an idea what I was getting into tone-wise and I’d say that’s pretty accurate.
Danielle Morris has written a truly beautiful love story layered with complicated emotions and even more secrets. Lies are walls that keep two fated people apart and those walls come down in pieces as the plot thickens.
The writing is strong throughout and I’m obsessed with the skill that Morris possesses with her character’s voices as the story unfolds. From page-to-page the introspection, inner monologues, reactions to the moments, all of it was so deep and I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed this.
This isn’t just a good romance or thriller, it’s just a great story. While there are ghostly aspects to this thought, I wouldn’t say it makes it scary in any way. The paranormal aspect is used in a way that doesn’t seem cheesy or over the top while also managing not to be pointless.
Morris writes strong characters and reveals secrets at a great pace in this thriller that will have your heart rooting for this love story to work out.
Great job with this one Danielle! So glad I read this one.
Danielle had me at “Hill House vibes” when she began marketing this story. Hill House is one of my all-time favorite shows, and Danielle DELIVERED. You will be hooked!
It’s the perfect blend of tension, eerie, and suspense for an emotional, thriller second chance romance. Grief is a tricky demon. There is lots of unpacked trauma and grief making you sit on edge, waiting and wondering, when everything will come to light. It all makes for a tangled web of secrets that leads to lies, betrayal, revenge, and murder.
I adored Georgia’s relationship with Auden, but I LOVED Ian’s relationship with Auden even more. They had such an easy, wholesome friendship right off the bat. Ian was loyal and protective of them both.
This is definitely a book you should be reading this month for any spooky fix!
🪻 a romantic thriller with paranormal twists 🌙 creepy ghosts with tortured secrets 🪻 second chance 🌙 secret love child 🪻 lies, betrayal, revenge, + murder 🌙 a dash of open door spice
First I wanna start off by saying thank you Danielle for letting me read your book before it came out.
In all my dreams was my first arc book I’ve read and I’m so glad it was. With it being close to spooky season, it all had all the factors that go into a good suspense/thriller book. Again I always like trying to predict the book ending while reading it and I was so wrong .
Very well written, the plot was awesome the ending was like putting the last piece of a puzzle, it all fit together so well.
Please if you have the opportunity to read this book as an arc or when it comes out please do. Set a reminder if you too In All my Dreams comes out 10/02/2024 just in time to read or get added to your own spooky season TBR list…
I absolutely loved and adored this book! It is truly one of my most favorite reads! From the ups and downs, keeping us on our toes! I kept waiting for the secret to be told, and it ended up being told in a beautiful way! I loved the character development, the description of the setting in each scene, the feelings portrayed by everyone! Just everything about this book fit together very well and just flowed wonderfully! I can't wait to acquire a physical copy for my own bookshelf!
Thank you, Danielle, for the advanced review copy!
It took me four days to read it since I literally didn’t want it to end. From the first page it had its hooks in me and it never let go. I found myself occupied with thoughts of this book when I was supposed to be doing adult things like raising children/housework. I had so much fun trying to guess the twist and the turns. Definitely pulled me out of my reading slump and made me excited about books again. Danielle Morris has definitely reignited my love for spooky and my love for romance.
I am one of the lucky people to read In All My Dreams early & WOW! I was completely blown away. Danielle Morris is a phenomenal writer— a natural story-teller. I was hooked from the very beginning… wanting to uncover every single detail of Georgia and Ian’s story.
I have to say, the relationship between Georgia and Auden is the sweetest. It made my heart melt. Danielle has a beautiful way of building connections between her characters.
Hauntingly beautiful. AND THE TWIST. A must read!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book!
If you enjoy unsolved mysteries, romance, thrillers, plot twists, & multi-POV this book is for you!
I was hooked from the beginning of this book. The entire time I was flying through the pages wondering when the other shoe was going to drop- and I was NOT disappointed! I loved that though there were plot twists, the ending gave resolution. I highly recommend reading this book upon its release in October!
This book got me in the spooky mood, I am so glad this is my first book of October! This book was so good. I read it in one sitting. I quite literally couldn’t the book down and when I had to I like stressed my self out.. lol
Anyways this book was so good. It had everything I love, spooky haunted house, murder, mystery, lies, betrayal, secret love child, second chance.
I loved the story I love the twist I loved all the lies and how the truth was unfolded I loved every minute of this book! And i will be rereading multiple times!!
If Georgia could only read for herself or Ian could read a little bit quicker, this book would’ve been 75 pages long 🤣
Danielle Morris spins a twisty tale of love, intrigue, and suspense in her second romantic thriller. This book, like her first, deals with heavy themes (i.e. loss of a child) and can for so many reasons not be for everyone due to these themes. Please check content warnings before reading!
The way I NEEDED to know what was happening in this one. What a ride! I always suggest reading Danielle’s books, but this one was really fun for me and I loved every second of it!
I love a book that begins with an author's acknowledgment and includes trigger warnings at the start, as it shows thoughtfulness and respect for sensitive readers.
This hauntingly beautiful story weaves together elements of psychological horror, romance, and tantalizing mysteries, creating a multidimensional narrative that keeps the reader engaged. As the author stated, “I hope you find yourself scattered through this story,” and I can confirm I got thoroughly lost in this short, yet immersive, narrative journey, feeling both captivated and unsettled by the vivid scenes and complex characters.
This is the perfect book if you’re feeling slumpy! I was hooked within a few chapters. I binged the book in two days which rarely happens! If you’re a fan of Verity, I definitely recommend this book! It combined my two favorite genres, thriller & romance! I will say, I did guess whodunnit but I was still super invested in the story. It definitely creeped me out at times but I couldn’t put it down! This book deserves more hype because it was SO GOOD!
Such a perfect fall/spooky read! This book lives up to the Haunting of Hill House comparison! Family trauma, secret baby, coming back to your hometown, twist and turns this book has EVERY THING. I cannot wait to read what Danielle writes next!
When I saw that this book was compared to one of my favorite TV shows, "The Haunting of Hill House", I knew I had to read this book!
This story hooked me from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. I loved how this spooky story also incorporated a love story as well.
The characters, settings and everything else were described in so much detail you could really picture it all in your head.
I do highly recommend you read this. You'll be shocked, heartbroken, spooked and brought to joy during this story. You definitely won't be disappointed you picked this one up.
