4.5 stars. I wish that ending had a little more oomph to it, but otherwise this was such a good book. It had me totally losing it and making a complete mess of my face for a good minute. But it was so worth it. I really adore when the characters in why choose books just accept the multiplied love and don’t let That be the reason they have problems. There’s always plenty more problems to choose from and that’s the least interesting one anyway😂
The mental gymnastics they must do to make women virginal yet she took 3 penises in one night her first time… after she just met them that night… she had a baby… it’s 6 years later. She hasn’t been with another man since… not even a kiss?!?… I can only suspend my belief so much.
Write women with a healthy sex life!!! We will still root for the MC’s!!!
Seriously?! No grovel at all, they leave her and her son for a month with no messages nothing to her and almost instantly she forgives them and is back with them? Like seriously? It was a great book up until that point…ugh
I loved it🤣 also not what I expected from a RH. I thought they would be less "love" and more bc they enjoyed fu**ing her lol happy to be surprised 🤣 definitely a cute story IMO
Violet met three SEAL's at a bar one night, when her friends abandoned her, and she had a one night stand. After that, she tried to find them again, even leaving a note at the cabin, but to no avail. Violet got pregnant, had the baby and six years later returned to the same town she met the SEAL's in, only to discover the house she was renting belonged to them. Once all four reconnected, it took a few bumps in the road for them, and Violet's little boy Forrest, to gel as a family. Violet was insecure about a lot of things, and that made her constantly wonder why these three incredible men would want her. Justin, Ben and Mason were patient though, and slowly proved to Violet that they loved her, and only her, and would be there for her and Forrest no matter what.
Justin, Ben and Mason were such distinct characters, different personalities and temperaments and different ways of loving Violet. Each was so incredibly vested in her and Forrest though, and that was so touching. Violet had a lot of worries, how Forrest would react, how they would all come together as a family, what happened when the guys had to leave on missions for their security company. She jumped to conclusions a lot and they had to reassure her of how much she and Forrest meant to them.
The supporting characters, and dogs, were great fun. The elderly ladies who sort of ran the town were a real hoot. Feisty, and fun and such good people. Justin, Ben and Mason's dogs were hilarious. One was a giant, one was tiny and they both were good natured troublemakers. It gave the book a lot of humor.
First off I just really love this series. It’s just so fun and who doesn’t love Harmony Valley!! I wanna live there seriously. it’s like a more sexual Stars Hollow lol
The only thing I didn’t really like, and I didn’t think was believable at all was the reason for them breaking up. And no, I’m not spoiling anything in all these books. There’s a break up. That’s just a fact, not a spoiler.
I feel like it was just so out there and not believable that it would happen at all that I just felt like it was a little weird. I know the author had to come up with some thing, but that was just not the right thing in my opinion . I mean to say two days and then it be a month is just way out there.
It had a little less humor than it normally does. And for those two reasons, it doesn’t get five stars. But otherwise it was very enjoyable and I highly recommend.
I like the characters a lot. I'll definitely be looking if there's other books to this fun lil town :) spicy scenes were good except I feel like the last one was a let down.. it was the first DP moment, and the writing basically skipped over the good parts.. like, 'they were on the couch then they were goin at it' kind of scene.. that was a let down a little bit but not enough to ruin the book... also, if you hate random typos this may not be your book lol
If the author reads this, I'll he your editor/proof reader? Whatever lol
A short and sweet read, where there’s insta love and so you never find out why the three men like to share or experience how the connection between the four of them is formed. Which is a shame because there is such potential! Summer Haze is an author I’m going to keep my eye on because Lilyvalley is a fun place I’d happily visit again.
Well, the gaslighting these men did to her was outstanding, I mean, it wasn't her fault, but they twisted the truth to their convenience, I mean, either the author truly believes that, or she has experienced this kind of gaslighting and is a normal way to her. This book is huge nope for me...
Not sure I would call this a military romance since they aren't in the military. They were before, but you have no idea what they were a part of, they never talk about, they don't wear uniforms, literally anything to make it hot.
I would have rated it higher except for three things: 1. There were simple solutions to everything, and everything was super easy for 80% of the book 2. Once you hit the climax, it went from fluff to extreme emotional damage. 3. I still know nothing about the MMCs except that they lust for the FMC and are dumb.
I get that you have to have the big climax and you need to want the MCs to win. But this problem was a giant emotional problem that not only got resolved way faster than it would have in real life, but ALL of the characters gaslighted the FMC. She was under EXTREME emotional and physical stress for over a month and when everyone was on the MMCs sides. Her parents, her friends, and the guys were like "Yeah, you suffered for a month and felt like dying, but get over it." So, she does. She cries in front of them then gets carried to the car and sexy stuff happens and it's all magically forgiven.
Here's what happened.
And all of that happened after the book had been happy go lucky the entire time. Guy flirts with her, sees the guys, stops flirting with her. She wants to move, three guys offer free room and board as long as she walks their dogs (which she never does). Her son is perfect at school. The guys love her again instantly and want to be dads. Her parents apologize and do a 180. Literally nothing bad happens or builds angst until the one big thing and it's irritating. You went from fluff to WTH in a second.
Other than that, I liked the book. The female characters were funny and the hidden women's only club was amazing. The guys were sweet, especially Mason. They never cooked her dinner, brought her flowers, told her she didn't need to work, or...well...anything other than look hot and bone her. Huh. Now that I think about it, they didn't even date her. They never had deep conversations, watched a movie, or anything. In fact, they keep saying they know nothing about each other. Just that they KNOW they belong together.
Well, if you want smut with three hot guys then this does the trick. If you want drama, romance, or anything like that you'll have to go elsewhere.
I had some serious issues with Second Chance SEALs Next Door by Summer Haze. While the writing itself is fine, the story is riddled with hidden misogyny, double standards, and a lack of basic responsibility from the male leads.
The backstory is already a red flag: the FMC, a virgin, gets stranded in a small town, meets three military men, and ends up having sex with all of them the same night—apparently without any discussion of protection or consequences. By morning, they leave for work, and she leaves them a note with her number. But, surprise, surprise, they never see it and never really try to find her.
When she discovers she’s pregnant, she returns to the town but can’t track them down. Fast forward six years, they finally reunite, and instead of apologizing for their part, the men blame her for leaving the cabin. Seriously? They walked out on her first, with no way to contact them, but somehow, it’s all on her?
Then comes one of the most frustrating moments—one of the guys demands to know how many men she’s slept with in the past six years. It’s framed as romantic possessiveness, but it’s really just toxic and entitled. Of course, the FMC hasn’t been with anyone else, while these men have been sleeping around. No one calls out this blatant double standard.
And once again, when they all inevitably get together, there’s zero discussion of protection or testing. They just go at it like before, as if the last time didn’t already result in a surprise baby. At this point, I was just wondering how many other women these guys had unknowingly knocked up over the years.
While the story does have its steamy and emotional moments, the lack of accountability, the way the FMC is constantly blamed, and the one-sided expectations from the men made this a frustrating read. If you can turn your brain off and just enjoy the fantasy, maybe it works, but if you prefer romance with actual equality and responsibility, this one is hard to recommend.

It’s a 3 1/2. ⭐️ So I’m glad I read these books out of order. I loved the last 2 books. The first 2 books not as much. I know there are just little things that bother me and maybe they don’t bother other people. But come on she had a kid and for 6 years she’s never been with anyone else. You know the men had been out sleeping around without a care that they love her so much. 1 guy asks how many people she’s been with since then and she says none. And they sported around so why would it matter. Then after they find that out they keep saying they are so turned on and happy that she only had slept with them and just keep saying that shit. Like it would be a slap In My face if this was said to me but they were out there man whoring for the last 6 years. And they just take her raw again, like if I was her I’d ask if they do that with all women and if they are clean. I’d feel they meant more to me than I meant to them. And with all the social media out there and there background come on they could have found her. I didn’t even finish it and it’s sad because I love the authors writing and the town. But please authors stop putting so much into a woman being a virgin or into her waiting for 6 years and never bring with anyone else when it’s ok for the men to what they want. Ugh I hate that I couldn’t finish it because every time they said shit about how special it wasn’t with anyone else I wanted to punch my someone.
Second Chance SEALs Next Door was such a fun, steamy, and emotional ride! Summer Hazemore really knows how to deliver the kind of romance that keeps you hooked from page one. The combination of forbidden romance, second chances, and ex-SEALs as next-door neighbors? Absolutely irresistible. This book had me sneaking in chapters whenever I could, because I just had to see how everything played out.
The setup pulled me in right away. The whole “returning to your past, only to find it waiting in the form of three ridiculously attractive SEALs” gave the story this delicious tension that never let up. Each of the guys had distinct personalities—broody, protective, playful—and I loved how they each offered something different in the heroine’s life. The group dynamic was both steamy and heartfelt, which isn’t always easy to pull off in reverse harems, but Hazemore managed it well.
The heroine herself was one of my favorite parts of the book. She felt authentic—vulnerable yet strong, and very relatable in her insecurities and desires. Watching her rediscover herself, take risks, and embrace the complicated but exhilarating relationships gave the story a lot of depth. It wasn’t just about the heat (though, trust me, the spice was plenty and well done); it was also about healing, acceptance, and opening your heart again after loss and fear.
That said, the reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that at times, the pacing felt a little uneven. Some sections dragged with more internal monologue than I needed, while others rushed through conflicts I wanted more of. There were a few moments where I felt like the emotional stakes could have been pushed further, especially given the “forbidden” aspect of the relationships. A little more time exploring those complications would have made the ending hit even harder.
Still, the positives far outweigh the small issues. The chemistry was fantastic, the banter made me smile, and the emotional beats gave the book a staying power beyond just its steamy scenes. By the end, I felt invested in the whole group dynamic and curious about what Harmony Valley will bring in future installments.
Overall, Second Chance SEALs Next Door was a sexy, heartfelt, and entertaining start to the series. It’s the kind of reverse harem romance that balances spice with story, leaving you satisfied but also eager for more. Four shining stars—and I’ll definitely be back for book two!
So, this was my first book from Summer Haze. I had no idea what to expect from this story. I guess I wanted to find out which one was Forrest's daddy but all 3 of them saying they were the father... I didn't expect that to happen! I thought it was absolutely wonderful they all wanted to take care of Violet and Forrest once they found out. I loved that they gave as good as they got from Violet. One of my favorite lines from the book was when Mason was explaining why they took up for Violet against her own parents. I'm attaching that little snip below. It is literally my favorite!
“Honey?” I cringed. “Yes?” “Relax.” She smiled at how floored I looked before turning her gaze back to Mason. “I hated it. I realize now that I hated it so much because you were defending Violet from me, the way I should’ve been defending her from others all this time. It was hard to swallow that awful pill. You did what I couldn’t, or wouldn’t. All three of you did. Without hesitation, you were all three ready to fight for my daughter.”
Mason swallowed the bite he was chewing and sat back in his chair. “Ma’am. We’ve gone to war for beliefs that weren’t our own. Imagine what we’d do for a woman we believe in whole-heartedly.”
If you want a spicy good-time, this book is for you. There is a story to go with the spice, but be prepared for a lot of spicy time too. Not a lot is known about the MMC's except they are ex-military and run a security firm. I do not like the way they handle some aspects of their relationship, like leaving at the drop of a hat for a job, but I also know that is part of their job. I think they should have sat down and had an honest conversation before jumping into a relationship about that though.
The thing that DROVE ME CRAZY about this book actually had nothing to do with the actual story really. Hah. There was a continuity issue and while it might not bother some people it really bothered me. The MMC's have two dogs. A huge, slobbery one named Captain and then a smaller one that can be picked up named General. Through out the entire story, the names were constantly mixed up. Sometimes they were correct, but at least 80% of the time they weren't. This knocked off a whole star for me.
I will still read more by this author, especially because I want to see where the Joanie/Chase storyline goes.
Good, quick easy read with a nice plot line and HEA, although the spice is a little on the low side. The characters are all likable and the town is amazing! I wish it was real! Definitely looking forward to reading more of the series. A couple things I would’ve liked better is the issues between the FMC and her parents, the FMC and 3 MMC’s, and the FMC and her child all resolve rather quickly and easily. They could’ve been expanded on for a little more drama. Also, the towns battle of the sexes sounded like it would’ve been hilarious. I feel like it was put into the story and forgot about so it wasn’t really resolved which was disappointing. I would also like to know more about the 3 MMC’s. How did they get to where they wanted to share a woman? What happened to their families? There wasn’t much on their history. I wish the book had been longer in general because I really like the characters and town but overall I give the book 5 stars. Will definitely recommend to friends and read again.
This second chance military brothers small town charming read was fun and engaging. It walked the line between rom-com vibes and such heartfelt moments that made it oh so satisfying. I loved how each SEAL brought a different dynamic that was intense, protective and so deeply emotional. The steamy scenes and the bond between a mother and son was the perfect touch I wasn't expecting to fall in love with. If you love military heroes that bring the heat and heart to your life, this is the book for you.

Entertaining second chance read....

This book had some outstanding lines that made me chuckle. "Plans sound like I need to move states." There were parts of this book that made my heart hurt, but with different kinds of hurt. Hurt at not feeling like you are important enough to have people in your life stick up for you, and hurt in terms of you aren't important enough, so much so that they would put you on the back burner. Adding insult to injury, a mother's worst feeling is when your children tell you that they dislike you, whether it be in anger or frustration. I am glad her parents, more like her mother, finally came around and saw the error in her ways.
I loved the mystery, intrigue, romance , drama especially after her parents show up and the emotions flew fast and frenzied. Margaret was my favorite followed by Forrest. When they left before telling Forrest and then we're gone for a month. Then when they finally came back and Forrest was a jerk and found out the guys were his dads. Oh my goodness the tears they did flow. One draw back for me..that's why only four stars... he spit on her lady part! The spitting is not appreciated! (I hope my review isn't rejected due to that last line)
Violet struggles being a single parent, attempting to deal with the understanding her child was a product of three different but loving strong men. I don't quite understand this type of relationship but Male character ,Ben,Justin, and Mason are all part of Violet & Forrest 's life. However, I do understand the fears a child Feel, when they get attached to a male role model. I understand a woman 💘 loving a man & being fearful of losing him due to the nature of their hazardous career.
A sometimes funny but Somewhat serious Book that I enjoyed
I enjoyed this book for the funny parts and the not so funny parts as well. There were some editing errors which needs to be looked at more closely But even with those I still enjoyed this book. Of the Of the characters were seemingly open and honest And said things that I probably couldn't say. Then again you had the parents or grandparents as they were that realized their mistakes so it was nice to see them make up with their daughter.
3.5 ⭐️. Quick easy light read. Not deep relationship building. My biggest pet peeve was that the reader never found out about the note. She left a note. They never found a note. Why? I hate when little things like that are thrown into a story but not resolved. I would have liked the book to be just a bit longer and to see actual relationship building instead of just “your ours” and to see how they dealt with the pregnancy, birth, and baby.

It’s a good read if you enjoy secret baby, possessive alpha, reverse harem (MFMM no crossed swords). I’m a fan of all of it and enjoyed this one!
A very quick read and being she’s a new author to me, I’ll definitely be checking out more of her titles, especially in this series. The RH subgenre is intriguing and she’s done a great job here!
I enjoyed the story of these four, their son, and the very interesting town. Looking forward to more!
Well written story and well developed characters! I was totally engrossed from the very first! She is a single woman and a parent. She never heard from the fathers even though she left them her phone number! Fathers?? Them?? Yep! You read that right! Now she is moving. Maybe she can get away from judgemental people and have a better life!
Summer Haze is a new author to me, but all I can say is, she writes a cracking story.
This book had all the feels and I mean ALL THE FEELS.
The chemistry between Violet, Mason, Ben and Justin was off the scales and there was a great storyline too. I had a tear or two for how Vi was treated by Forrest, but an all round great story.
This is a good, well written, RH romance with lots of feelings. The characters’s personalities are so full, you feel like you know them personally. The are a few editing errors but they did not affect the story. Violet has moved to a town she visited 7 years ago. She fell in love with the town and now also the friends she is making. She has a 6 year old son and he had three fathers. It gets complicated, worth it for the feels and heat.
Second Chance SEALS next Door is a book in the series Forbidden Reverse Harems of Harmony Valley. Summer Haze is a new author to me. I enjoyed her book so much. This was a captivating book. The characters of the story were all so big. There are stories within the story that draw you in.,
Quick read without going into much at all. It wasn’t terrible, actually the writing was decent. It just didn’t go into much. Taboo relationship but never really talked about they just all love each other without anyone blinking an eye. Gone for 6 years comes back with a kid instantly happy family it just. It was like a rainbows and sunshine reverse harem style, lol. Just ok for me.
