Terry Johnson was born and raised in Los Angeles. He studied history at the University of Southern California and also studied at Trinity College, Bristol, England, and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, before earning his D. Min in 2008 from Erskine Theological Seminary.

I enjoyed the advice and gravity of this book. But its Southern Presbyterian prescriptions are strong but often asserted without nuance or argumentation.

A wonderful resource gifted to me by a friend. I will not only return to it as a reference in the future, but will likely reread it again. My only dissatisfaction with the book is that it is so short.

Could have been more. Just was lacking and far too prescriptive...
