Tabitha shares a depth and vulnerability that makes you want to lean into your own story with Jesus more. “We let his compassion for us inform the compassion we should have for ourselves and for others. We let it become the framework in which we can befriend ourselves—treating our bodies and souls as people to be loved, instead of hated and always pressed to be more.”

Tabitha is an excellent writer and truly has a grasp on healing hurts with God’s truth. I enjoyed the breath prayers at the beginning of each chapter. I would recommend this to everyone

I have read many books on rejection and abandonment, and this one was the best. It was amazing. Not only is Tabitha a very gifted writer, but the content was incredible. My parents divorced when I was very young, and the emotional wounds the author so vividly expressed were authentic and relatable. I also experienced a significant friendship betrayal last summer that led me to surrender my life (again) to God, and the healing I've experienced through finding my perfect Heavenly Father has transformed me. I've joined a church that is full of caring people that value each other and serve the community with love and dignity. Tabitha's experience was so similar to mine and that is why I loved this book. Even if that were not the case, this book has so many meaningful messages of hope and resilience to offer it could help anyone who is ready to accept Christ's invitation to become new and begin healing through the power of His unconditional love. The imagery and word flow in the book was poetic. I hope Tabitha will write more books. I plan to use this for a small group study at my church because healed people (with the help of the Holy Spirit) can help broken people heal. Thank you Tabitha!

If there’s a better book on the subject of rejection, I’m unaware of it.
In LIHL, Tabitha Panariso bravely shares her own experiences of rejection, how deeply they have affected her, and how she chooses to address them with her eye on healing. Present tense. Tabitha does not write as one who has fully achieved the victory, but as one who is still running her race diligently and intentionally. She writes as one further down the track than some (read: me). Graciously, Tabitha points out some of the hazards that may be encountered as we run our own race and guides us through them with her hard-earned wisdom. Along the way, she continually points our gaze back to what matters most…Christ.
Though Tabitha is a licensed counselor, this is not your typical self-help book. There aren’t ten steps to overcoming rejection…check each one off and you’re done…but there are practical tips, helpful points to ponder, and questions to ask to go deeper into who and what has affected us, is still affecting us, and why. Hers is a kindly curious way, eager to get at the root of the issue in order to promote healing rather than continuously having to apply band-aids.
No one will manage to make it through this life without feeling the sting of rejection. Even Jesus was not immune. Yet, He overcame, and through Him, we can as well. Tabitha’s words help in this journey to addressing the issues in our heart, forgiving ourselves and others, and they serve to lead us further down the path we are journeying, running with more assurance as the next step comes.

This book is such an encouraging and gentle reminder of God's love for His children. I came across Tabitha Panariso on Instagram during a season of heartbreak, and her book ministered to my heart within the very first pages.
Tabitha gently and lovingly discusses the hurts we endure at the hands of others: betrayal, rejection, death of relationships. While making us feel seen and understood, she kindly reminds us of the Gospel and the truth of God's faithful love for His children. The times when we feel rejected and alone are opportunities to be pushed back into God's loving arms.
Not only does He love us, but He understands us. As Tabitha puts it, His compassion is not pity, but understanding. He, too, was rejected and betrayed while on earth. He relates and empathizes with our pain and promises to sit in our pain with us.
Thankfully, we have a Savior who does not abandon or reject us. Instead, He showers His love and blessings on us, sending reminders of His presence and making beauty out of ashes.
For anyone who's experienced the sting of rejection or the tragedy of betrayal, this book is for you! Healing balm for the soul.
