I just received access to the book. Just the information was relatable in various situations, yet perspectives. Honestly, I thought I was reading Chapter 1, yet I was only in the Introduction content. This book has so much reflection of his upbringing to now his present life. I can say just by the Introduction and Chapter 1, this truly a good read!
As a seasoned veteran of the "self-help" genre, l've read my fair share of books aimed at guiding personal growth. What sets Take Your Seat at the Table by Anthony O'Neal apart is its unique focus on reclaiming control over your life spiritually, emotionally, and practically.
O'Neal draws on his personal journey, including his experience working with Dave Ramsey, to craft a guide that's less about financial strategies and more about building the foundation to make better life decisions. The book challenges readers to examine who occupies a seat at their metaphorical table, encouraging a reevaluation of influences and relationships that shape their choices.
The content is divided into nine digestible chapters, each offering relatable insights and practical steps. O'Neal's conversational tone and real life examples make the material engaging and actionable. While it isn't groundbreaking in a literary sense, the book shines in its ability to connect with readers and inspire meaningful change.
This isn't just a guide to improving finances or relationships it's about transforming the way you see yourself and your purpose. For those seeking clarity, direction, or simply a nudge toward a more fulfilling life, Take Your Seat at the Table delivers wisdom that's both empowering and actionable.
A solid 4 star read that I would recommend to anyone ready to reassess their priorities and take ownership of their life.
Take Your Seat at the Table is undeniably a page turner! Anthony dissects six major areas of life inspiring readers to dig deep, reassess your seat, and fulfill your God-given assignment. Without this shared experience and guidance, some areas in my own life would still be stagnant. Anthony’s easy read is a compelling story about creating abundance, wellness and freedom. I’ve read it and am ready to water these seeds so I can blossom. If you’re ready to grow, grab a copy—or maybe grab two. I guarantee you won’t regret this book because a space is reserved at the head of the table for you! 🔥🔥🔥
As an educator following in my late grandfather’s footsteps to become an entrepreneur, Take Your Seat at the Table by Anthony O’Neal really spoke to me. The way O’Neal uses the idea of the table to talk about life, goals, and purpose is powerful. It reminded me of the lessons my grandfather shared about leadership and financial freedom.
This book offers simple, clear advice on making better decisions in areas like finances, career, and relationships. What stood out to me most is O’Neal’s focus on building a balanced life—one that’s not just about money but also about emotional and spiritual well-being. His encouragement to take charge of your dreams and not let fear hold you back is exactly the push I needed.
As I work on growing my nonprofit, Money Mindset Makeover, his tips on finding the right people to support your goals really hit home. This book is a great read for anyone who wants to live a fuller, more intentional life and take charge of their future.
More devotional with tips and reflective questions than a step-by-step guide, “Take Your Seat at the Table” was a good read. I’ve seen multiple videos of Anthony’s podcast online, so I was interested to delve deeper into his story and see how I could relate to it. He was easily relatable and the mix of his life experiences and reflective moments the book prompted from me set this apart from other books in a similar category I’ve read. While it might seem a little surface to some (if you’ve read a ton of self-help or finance books), I think it’s a great intro to the genre of personal growth. It is also great for fans of his work to learn more about him and be guided through rethinking our lives/circumstances through the different sections.

For 2025 my word of the year is "stewardship". This book has been a confirmation on the importance of appreciation and stewarding what you have been blessed with including gifts and talents to not just add/build someone else's table, but to be the head of your own table.
I usually avoid self-help but this one was nice. The advice felt authentic and the author held himself accountable and challenged me to do the same. Felt less like inspiration/motivation and more like advice from a wise God-fearing big brother.
While the story begins with him talking about his family history how he moved some guidance from both his stepparents and his real parents. He states how challenging it was for him. When transition from teen to adult the jobs were stressful.
I throughly enjoyed this book. It was a quick read and great reminder of who should be speaking into your life and how— not just from a financial standpoint, but in any situation we face. Great read!
Excellent book. This book teaches you to watch some of the tricks that people play in order to have a seat at your table, even though they didn't earn it. This book is well written and the personal story helps the book.
