Matteo’s

What a lovely story!
Matt is your typical poor little rich boy (but really not!). He spends his time partying and playing around. He has a complicated relationship with his parents, and to be honest, he has a complicated relationship with himself.
When he's given the choice to go to Italy or return to nothing, he takes the chance to get away. There, he meets Giuliana. Who's everything he's not. She's hardworking, loves where she's at, and knows what she wants. He really becomes smitten, lol, but he doesn't go about it in the best way.
It's totally from Matt's POV. He is a really conflicted man. There were times I wanted to smack him through the book! But he's really a lost soul!
I thought the setting was really cool. I don't know if I've ever read a book set on an olive farm.
I really enjoyed it! We see Matt's growth and how he finally took control over his own life.

I THINK OLIVE YOU is an immersive reading experience. Tristen gives us heat of the sun, sweat from exertion, dust in the air, and aches of the heart. Summer radiates off the page as the perfect backdrop to Giuliana & Matteo falling in love.
In addition, we get to experience Matteo's intrusive thoughts on page as he struggles with grief and trauma. And they are very loud and dangerously pervasive. It's gutwrenching to experience how difficult his own brain makes it to do much else than self-sabotage. There might be an actual side character bad guy, but its Matteo’s impacted ability to process grief that is the real villain.
Matteo himself is disaster child and romantic baby boy all at once. We meet him when his means of processing grief is excess in all things (mostly vices) and numbing the pain away. He escapes the epicenter of his trauma - NYC society - for Italy where he's meant to be salvaging a business interest. Instead, he finds opportunity. To be himself, to be part of a family, to fall in love, to build rather than destroy, to forgive his past and chose his own possibilities.
Giuliana is a joy to read as she faces the hardship of inheriting a failing business with resiliency. Matteo may have been taken by her beauty and charm but its her hard work, passion, and devotion to her family and land that he craves. Further, Giuliana gives him the land to focus his hands and let's him do the work. She is not the "fix" to his problems, she is the heart you hope to build your home in.
The romance has a preheat set to scorching, with instructions to let their tension simmer as both Matteo & Giuliana need time to proof. Incorporate yearning into the romance, knead with pain train intensity, then set to bake.
And with all that baking silliness out of the way, let me offer my recommendation to keep a glass of water on hand while reading. The focaccia baking scene will cause intense thirst.
Pick up I THINK OLIVE YOU for your Summer TBR. You'll be immersed in vacation & heart healing vibes. Highly recommend!

It's a second book of Tristen Crone that I have read. I absolutely loved the first one, "Playing For Keeps", so expectations were high. And you know what, I loved this one even more!
"I think Olive You" is unique in its point of view. Usually, you get to see a love story unfold first, and only later on do you find out the big secret, something someone is hiding. But in this story you know the secret from early days, yet it doesn't feel like you know what to expect. It builds tension, and you just wait for the other shoe to drop. It gives a false sense of security that keeps you intrigued all the way through.
I have never been to Italy, but this story created this home type of feeling towards the country. I just could imagine Abundantia, walking through the grove and eating with the family. I do think, me and Isabella would get a long so well.
I can't tell you much about the story without spoiling too much. But one thing that I can say is that Matt character growth was so satisfying and relatable. And the love story was so simple in the most beautiful way.
I don't know how to properly describe this book, what it made me feel. But once I finished it , I was sad it was over. Reading it was comfortable, easy, and felt like home. But now I can easily say that I'm adding Tristen Crone to my favourite romance author list 🖤

I’m going to be honest: I didn’t have much expectations for this book but the cover was really pretty and it got me.
I’m glad I gave this a chance.
Not only is an Italian filled book, it’s about about grief and self-discovery. It’s focused on romance, sure, but the constant presence of a mental illness and unattended grief are real topics that I wish were addressed more often in THIS manner.
I identified a lot with Matteo and “the voices in his head”. I felt heard and seen and I can’t explain to you enough how depressing it is to have those constant voices in your head, bringing you down.
Anyway,
I think the author did it splendid job at portraying it and I’m surprised it didn’t get as much traction on the online book community. It’s such a shame.
The romance is really well written, although I wish the book was longer with more scenes between Matteo and Giuliana – the author wrote them so well, their dynamic and their bond but some were short and I wish it explored more of the growing love between them – which is probably the reason it didn’t get a higher score.
I also wish the conflict wasn’t played out as it was. I think it was a bit of an excuse to create a long-term tension and to make them part ways without having to explain a big deal. Not saying it was badly written, it was just insufficient for me.
Regardless, I absolutely loved this book up until the conflict (third-act-break-up) and I’m looking forward to explore more of this author’s works, past and future.
I recommend this book to anyone who has dealt or is dealing with grief, mental illness, “voices in their heads that tell them they’re not good enough” and anyone who loves a sexy time in Italy.

This is a beautiful, intense story of Matteo (Matt) and Guiliana.
Since his father’s death, Matt has lost himself in unrealized grief. The festering anger overflows into negative thoughts which lead to spiraling into bad decisions. His blinding inability to handle his anxiety and depression speaks to my soul in a painful reminder of how it feels to think you’ll never be good enough; never measure up. His entire life in New York is plagued with the knowledge that he was - is - a disappointment to his family. Almost a year after his father’s passing, he is spurred into action, and flies to Italy.
Giuliana is a treasure, blinding in her wit and intelligence, as well as her heartfelt love for the farm her father left her when he passed. She’s determined to succeed in her quest to reinvigorate the place and of course, men are there to question her processes and try to ruin her. Matteo understands the pressure Guiliana is under with everything on her shoulders, and Guiliana embraces stubbornness with a tightness only someone desperate to prove her worth can. Her earnestness is foreign to Matt, and he can’t stop the fall. Wouldn’t if he could.
Matteo’s inner battle to take what isn’t his, or to protect Giuliana gives the story its depth. Growth is painful and difficult, but necessary. Having the space to grow is a gift and one that Nonna bestows upon him until a few things click into place for him. Truly can anyone fool an “old woman”? Of course not 😉
The emotional turmoil of loss, grief masquerading as anxiety and depression, feeling unworthy, and loss of beloved family brought me deep into my feelings. I cried so much in a therapeutic way. It is a beautiful story.
Last but most definitely not least. the absolute deliciousness of these two and their chemistry 🥵 Tristan writes spicy scenes off the CHARTS and I ate it UP. This two are hot and I have an entirely new appreciation for focaccia bread making.
This is a definite new favorite and will be making its way to my comfort read shelf. I want to cuddle up with these characters all the time. So obsessed.
A couple of favorite quotes:
“Birds are assholes everywhere”. Yes, yes they are.
“The sunset paints the sky like a bruise, purple and red that melt into flame.” MY HEART

Having a one-night stand with the first person you meet in a new country sounds like a great idea since you won't bump into them again, right? Right! But add to the mix finding out they are the person you're coming to work against? Wrong.
Tristen gave it her all with I Think Olive You. Thank you, Tristen for gifting me an arc, I'm so grateful to have gotten one and even happier it became a book I needed to read when I did. Happy release day! <3
Matteo and Giuliana are my babies. I adore them so much. A whole book filled with the mmc pov, love love love. I need more romance books like this. Getting every single thought from the mmc is what I long because of their neediness.
Matteo, my lovely man who just needed a little love. This man is everything to me. I wanted to cherish him and give him all the love he never got. The way Tristen wrote him coming to term with things. The emotions. The love. The forgiveness. On my knees needing a physical copy of this book. I need to go back and read her first book, Playing for Keeps, because if the writing was anything like this, I will need CPR.
Giuliana, my darling eldest daughter twin. Girlie needed a hug and I wanted to engulf her with one and let her know I got her back. I loved seeing her from the eyes of Matteo because truly, it was beautiful, she is beautiful.

When I saw that Tristen was releasing a new book soon, I knew I absolutely had to get my hands on it as soon as I could and I was not disappointed! She knows how to write characters that really make you fall in love with them!
The way that Matteo and Giuliana met was fantastic and I loved their chemistry from the very beginning. I was surprised to see the whole book in Matteo’s POV but I really enjoyed it because Tristen also focused on his mental health a lot and she did so well writing about it! I loved how we were able to see him grow so much throughout the story. And Giuliana was such a fun FMC! She was sassy from the very beginning and the love she had for her family just made my heart happy!
Also, the spicy scenes we get with these two?! I mean, you’re just gonna have to read them for yourself but trust me they are fantastic!
It really doesn’t get any better than a story set in Italy does it? I promise you’re going to love this one!!

no spoilers as the book is not yet released. Out July 2nd!!
This was the perfect refresher I needed to help get me out of a reading slump. Tristen writes such a gorgeous setting for this book, shifting from the chaotic New York party scene for the elite to the peaceful countryside of Italy.
Our main character, Matteo, reflects these settings in his actions and through his character development : A numb, party boy, lost in grief and the feeling of not knowing your roots.
Giuliani is our stunning, down to earth, selfless love interest . I loved her fiery spirit and no shit attitude. She really stood on business and didn’t let her wants outweigh her dreams to ensure her family’s legacy carried on.
Their relationship was filled with lots of steamy tension (honestly wasn’t expecting it to start off quite like that) but when in Italy. Giuliana grounded Matteo when he needed grounding, while he was so supportive in her dreams of success. The nicknames and back and forth were so cute and definitely added more depth to their relationship.
This book gave off the best parts in hallmark movies (hotshot MC meets down to earth love interest) and had a little drama to it that I was not expecting but definitely enjoyed

This is a second book from Tristen Crone and I think I love this one more than I love Playing for Keeps! Once again the cover for her book is *chef's kiss* - a hot dark hair MMC with a midsize beauty set against Italy. It sets the vibe for the whole book.
"My days begin and end with you."
One of my favorite things about this book is that it is written entirely from the male perspective! When I started reading this, I kept waiting for it to switch to a female point of view but it never did. I felt that it was refreshing compared to other contemporary romances and now I want there to be more romances that is only told from the male POV.
I thought the chemistry between the two was so strong. They both held their ground with not giving into temptation as they were working together for those few months. I loved seeing Matteo's growth from the beginning to the end and realizing he needed to grow up. He never fully gotten to grieve his father because he was just so angry at him and how he was treated. I am glad though that he knew what he didn't want and that he didn't just fall in line with taking the family business. I am also glad that he was able to take care of himself after his time in Italy and work on the trauma that was inflicted.
I love how Giuliana was this strong female who wanted nothing more to work in her family's business and making it successful. Her sister and grandmother were also enjoyable addition to the story. And because Matteo could see how hard she worked to keep the olive grove afloat and understood her big plans for the farm to help bring in money, he wanted to make sure that he did not ruin that for her.
My selfish self wish we got to see more intimate time between Matteo and Giuliana just because I loved the way that Crone wrote those scenes.
I'm looking forward to see what Tristen does next!

This is a second book from Tristen Crone and I think I love this one more than I love Playing for Keeps! Once again the cover for her book is *chef's kiss* - a hot dark hair MMC with a midsize beauty set against Italy. It sets the vibe for the whole book.

One of my favorite things about this book is that it is written entirely from the male perspective! When I started reading this, I kept waiting for it to switch to a female point of view but it never did. I felt that it was refreshing compared to other contemporary romances and now I want there to be more romances that is only told from the male POV.
I thought the chemistry between the two was so strong. They both held their ground with not giving into temptation as they were working together for those few months. I loved seeing Matteo's growth from the beginning to the end and realizing he needed to grow up. He never fully gotten to grieve his father because he was just so angry at him and how he was treated. I am glad though that he knew what he didn't want and that he didn't just fall in line with taking the family business. I am also glad that he was able to take care of himself after his time in Italy and work on the trauma that was inflicted.
I love how Giuliana was this strong female who wanted nothing more to work in her family's business and making it successful. Her sister and grandmother were also enjoyable addition to the story. And because Matteo could see how hard she worked to keep the olive grove afloat and understood her big plans for the farm to help bring in money, he wanted to make sure that he did not ruin that for her.
My selfish self wish we got to see more intimate time between Matteo and Giuliana just because I loved the way that Crone wrote those scenes.
I'm looking forward to see what Tristen does next!

I literally just finished beta reading this for Tristen moments ago and girl I BLEW through the last 80 pages I should be asleep rn and I am NOT lol. Tristen's writing was so smooth and entertaining and so perfect for romance. I loved this story, this setting, and I loved Matteo! It's so rare that we get a romance from just the man's side and I thought it was perfect for this story, especially since it focuses so much on Matteo's mental health (another thing lacking in fiction!). I loved the humor and Matteo and Giuliana's relationship was so dang cute D:
This doesn't come out for a small millennium lol but I'm posting my review now because I'm so excited! Get pumped ya'll, this is a good one. I'm so excited to see what the cover ends up looking like and I'm also so excited to read Tristen's other book (coming out in June this year!)

I really enjoyed this one so much! This book really surprised me is so many ways and in a good way. This story is completely told from Matt's point of view. He is sick of being the party animal as they don't help keep the voices in his head down. And when his late father's will comes into play he goes to Italy. These is an olive farm that his father and now him have stakes in. He meets Giuliana there and they have a one night stand only him to find out later she is the owner of the olive farm he comes to take over. She mistakes him for a volunteer to help with the harvest. Matteo plays into the role thinking it will be an easier way to take over. But the more time he spends on the farm and with her making him doubt his decision.
I really loved seeing this whole story from Matteo's point of view as he was a really intriguing character. The way he struggles still with a lot of things and has to find a way to work it out was interesting to read. I really loved the journey he went on together with Giuliana. They were both so cute together.
So if you are looking for a small town, hidden identity romance this is definitely one for you!

A whole romance book with the MALE MC'S POV the whole time?! Sign. Me. Up. It was such a different vibe reading from just the guy' perspective, but I loved it! Matteo has a way with words, and once he falls for Giuliana, there's no stopping this man from bleeding out poetry. And Giuliana is such a strong woman! I loved her determination to prove that women can do it, and they can do it better!
I've decided I'm packing my bags and planning a visit to Italy. While every plant I've ever tried to care for passes away, the food alone is enough of a motivator to go as a tourist at least, since I'll be no help in the farm 😆

This book is captivating and steamy. Tristen skilfully weaves a magnetic tale of love, angst and passion. I fell in love with Matteo instantly, his inner monologue and personal growth journey relatable on so many levels. The bold and sassy Guiliana captures everything a strong female lead should be. It is by far my favourite read this year. I was transported to a world of heat and romance, with deep and raw emotions throughout. So many goosebumps, laughs, tears and literal clutching of my chest, has me wanting to relive it all over again. One of those books you feel truly sad is over. I don't even want to pick up my next book, because I want the presence of these characters to linger with me. Beautiful writing that surrounds you with the taste of Italy. Highly recommend.

I could not put it down and I can't wait to pick it up again. I THINK OLIVE YOU is filled with heart, emotion, and a love so pure and genuine it knows no bounds. It addresses grief and how we battle our inner demons in the most delicate way, but ultimately, expresses how we are not alone and are worth so much more than we think. This is hands down my favorite romance of 2025 (so far!). From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The banter is sharp, the chemistry is undeniable, and every page pulled me further into their world. I don’t usually enjoy a third-act breakup but here it was done so well that it actually made the payoff even sweeter.
The characters were layered, flawed in the best way, and felt so real that I didn’t want to let them go when the last page came. The world building was immersive without ever dragging, adding depth and charm to the love story. This is the kind of romance that leaves you smiling long after you close the book.

Advanced ARC read
The premise alone drew me in - I love romances set in the countryside, and being part-Italian I was already hyped for this one. On the outset it looks like a bad boy redemption story, but it goes much deeper than that. Matt/Matteo heads to Italy to shore up some family business left by his late father only to fall in love with rustic, rural Italy and the owner of an olive grove in need of a good harvest to survive. His attraction to Giuliana sparks his determination to make himself worthy of her, even as he has trouble believing it himself.
I truly enjoyed this.

If it's any testament to how enjoyable this book is, I flew through it in one sitting. The writing is just so genuine and compelling that I couldn't put it down. Admittedly I'm writing this review about a week after reading, but I...actually can't remember anything I didn't like about it.
First, let's talk atmosphere. It's Italy; what could possibly be a complaint here? But specifically the descriptions of the olive grove and the homes on the property are just lush, sprawling, and gorgeous. Brb, booking a flight.
The characters immediately had me interested. Giuliana is a total badass that you can't help but love, and Matteo has that classic hidden heart of gold that makes you root for him. (Oh, and shoutout to my girl Isabella -- we love a sassy, all-knowing Nonna.) Once the pining really kicks in?! Ugh, the reluctant nicknames! Their special place! The angst! That Kitchen Moment™! I loved reading these two try and ignore the fact that they're crazy about each other.
If you wanna whisk away to Italy for a while, fall in love, and (if you're anything like me) develop a strong craving for some Italian food, read this. 🩷

SCREAMING BECAUSE THIS BOOK IS SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL. This is such a wonderful book, it was so refreshing to get a book totally from the man’s perspective. I relate to his inner demon so much, I felt called out at time.
THE YEARNING?!?! I adore Matteo, I adore Giuliana. Isabella reminds me of my grandma. The setting? ITALY?! I was hooked from the start.
Definitely one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. I will be revisiting this beauty many, many times.

I'm so thankful for being given the ARC of this book! I absolutely loved it. The descriptions of the places and food had me longing for Italy. I don't think I'll be able to look at focaccia without thinking of Guiliana and Matt. And Isabella is someone we all need in our lives (reminded me of my Nanna, who always knew more than she let on).

Honestly, all i really should have to say about I Think Olive You to draw you in is “focaccia as foreplay”. Are you intrigued? You should be. Think ghost but all parties are alive and the pottery wheel is actually delicious bread.
Anyway.
I spent a lot of time wanting to smack Matteo, because he starts off pretty terribly. He inherits an olive farm in Italy and travels there under the guise of working for the season but in reality, plans a hostile takeover to sell out.
Naturally, the woman he has a one night stand with before heading to the olive farm ends up being in charge of the farm he’s there to takeover. Drama is drama’ed, olives are harvested, bread is made, and we get wonderful character growth.
Something I find interesting about this one is that it’s a MF romance told entirely from the male POV, which I don’t think I’ve read before. You get so much insight with Matt’s inner assholiness and his eventual growth.
The setting is gorgeous as are the descriptions. Crone’s writing always manages to put me through ALL OF THE FEELINGS. ALL OF THEM. Don’t read this one hungry, folks, or you’ll be miserable.

An uncovered stake in a struggling Italian olive grove leads him to the beautiful Giuliana and sets him on a path of deception as he tries to figure out who he is, and who he wants to be.
The summer vibes literally pour from this book and it feels very much like watching a classic Hallmark movie. The set up feels similar to the movie A California Christmas, so I started this book already loving the premise. The characters were so cute and it’s hard not to root for them through all their pining. The writing was beautiful, easy to read, and being in Matteo’s perspective let the writer touch on men’s mental health, which I thought was handled excellently.
If you’re looking for a sweet, low-stress romance with just a hint of drama, then I highly recommend this wonderful book!
