M. Dane was raised in outback Australia, where he grew up on a farm with cattle, pigs, and his siblings—who were just as wild. In his isolation, he fell in love with novels as they offered unlimited adventures at the turn of a page. After finishing school, he traded fields for far-off lands, joining the army and embarking on a journey that took him around the world.

His foray into writing wasn’t a sudden leap, but a gradual shift that began with scribbles that evolved into his debut novel, The Traitor in the Trees. While he jokingly says his writing career started with struggling to spell his own name at fifteen, the truth is, the seeds of storytelling were planted long before then, in the dusty paddocks of his childhood.

Seventeen years in the army taught him more than just discipline; it opened his eyes to the wonderful cultures and experiences that shape our world. Now, having switched the uniform for a writer’s desk, his focus is on writing stories that capture the essence of his travels and the diverse beauty of the places he's seen. He hopes to bring a piece of the world to his readers, encouraging a curiosity and appreciation for the diverse cultures that enrich our planet.

This was such a cute and fun little read. The art in the book is beautifully done. The pictures on the pages matched what the words said, and this made it easy to follow along.
Losing a loved one is hard. Its ok to feel sad. We need to remember the good.
In the end, even though bunny would not be returning home, he and Sunny are happy. Bunny reunites with his family. Sunny takes comfort in knowing that Bunny will be ok.

Losing a loved one is difficult for all of us. This beautiful children's book teaches children through magic how to say goodbye. Regardless of your age, whether you are a parent, a teacher, or just you can relate to this easily. The beautiful illustrations perfectly complete this emotional story that will grab your heart❤.
What I liked the most was the overall idea behind the whole story. Together with Sunny, you go on a magical journey to find his bunny, who was taken away by Womple Wardle. Sunny can transform his hair into a kite and into various animals that help him catch up with Womple Wardle and when he gets to the clouds...you'll find out for yourself what happens there .
My younger brother also picked up the book, for him the illustrations and the story itself were the greatest experience.
My overall review is positive and I recommend this book. Go on a journey together with Sunny.

ARC READER:

The book Beyond The Clouds: The Magic of Letting Go explores the idea of how to deal with losing our loved ones. It tells a story of a Sunny, who has a bunny, that is captured by Womple Wardle. Sunny then decides to save his bunny and chases after Womple Wardle.

It is written in a beautiful poetic language that is easy to read. On each page, the sentences are accompanied by lovely illustrations. As the story progresses, we (as an adult readers) see, that there is a hidden deeper idea of how to deal with losing our family and close friends. It brought me a feeling of nostalgia because of how the thought of letting go was portrayed.

Overall, I definitely recommend this book not only to children, but also to adults who enjoy children's books. It is a great book to show children, that letting go is a part of our life.

This book comes out on 19th of March 2024.

Beautiful children's book

My little one is to young to understand the concept in the book but loved the pictures and was a quick read. I think it's a great story to help little ones understand loss when needed. The illustrations are beautiful.

Such a cool story. I'd probably recommend it to the older children a bit more than the little ones. It's a great way to explain lost to young ones. I absolutely adored the illustrations. They are well done. There's rhyming, which gave it a Dr Seuss.
