Detective Martyn Sorensen is assigned to a strange murder case. In the victim's apartment he finds a photograph of his own girlfriend. The picture is almost fifty years old. His girlfriend is only twenty four...

1984. England. Howard Robinson, a final year historian, meets and falls in love with the enigmatic Melissa, a new student at the university. As he delves deeper into her mysterious past their relationship begins to falter, triggering a series of disturbing premonitions which, though seemingly connected, do not appear to have any rational explanation.

2029. North America. The city police department is overstretched and a new killer is on the loose. Detective Martyn Sorensen is assigned to investigate the motiveless murder of Howard Robinson. While searching for clues among the victim's possessions, Martyn discovers a photograph, dated 1984, of a young woman bearing a remarkable resemblance to his own girlfriend, Melissa. What follows is a lengthening chain of inexplicable and horrifying events - where the answers would appear to lie in the strange echoes from the past.

Spanning the millennium divide, Silent Light is not simply a thriller but a hauntingly beautiful debut novel exploring questions of love and fate - and the pain of ultimate betrayal.

Silent Light is the first novel by Mayden Publishing and combines all of the best attributes of excellent modern a gripping plot, beautiful prose and flowing dialogue. On one level it is a compulsive thriller/murder mystery while an undercurrent of dark foreboding slowly builds to an explosive ending.
