Finding a missing K9 dog is a great way to give back to both the people and the animals who have helped Cage over the years. He didn’t expect his actions to help someone else—maybe even himself. Yet that’s the likely outcome when he realizes the dog belongs to a little boy who suffers from spina bifida and who lost his parents in a car accident. Now Cage must save a little boy and his dog, who need each other more than ever.
Risa never should have split from Cage years ago, and seeing the man he is now just accents all she has lost. Even harder is the realization that time did not change anything between them. He is still the one for her.
Yet getting to a happy future looks less and less likely, as the two of them realize something sinister underlies this whole mess, and someone doesn’t want them to survive …

Finding a missing K9 dog is a great way to give back to both the people and the animals who have helped Cage over the years. He didn’t expect his actions to help someone else - maybe even himself. Yet that’s the likely outcome when he realises the dog belongs to a little boy called Brian who suffers from spina bifida and who lost his parents in a car accident. Now Cage must save a little boy and his dog, who need each other more than ever. Risa never should have split from Cage years ago, and seeing the man he is now just accents all she has lost. Even harder is the realisation that time did not change anything between them. He is still the one for her. I loved this story as Cage reconnected with Risa and did everything he could to find the missing dog as well as help Brian. There was plenty of danger and drama as he fought the sinister force against them. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was a sweet story that will make you smile.

Cage goes looking for a missing War Dog that belonged to a kid I a wheelchair who lost his parents. He did not expect to run into Risa who he dated before joining the military. This book is very emotional but also uplifting. It shows that it doesn’t always have to be actual family that loves you and you can create your own family.

I loved Risa and Cash's story. These guys aren't strangers, but meet up again as he's searching for Scotty the war dog. My heart went out to Brian with u s disability and all he's been through, not to mention Killian, the 96 year old war vet. This was an excellent story. HEA. Cage is called up to locate a missing War Dog. He found the situation more complicated. An old girlfriend, a little boy and another vet. and I found this to be another page turner from the pen of Dale Mayer.

Dale Mayer's "K9 Files" series just gets better, Badger continues to search for war dogs that have disappeared from the radar and his brilliant wife, Kat, continues to matchmake. Cage Shelton was at a crossroads in his life, injured on a mission, his SEAL days are behind him. When approached by Badger to search for a war dog, animal lover Cage jumped at the chance, the only fly in the ointment was the fact that his ex girlfriend lived in the search area. Risa had broken his heart when he joined the military. Physiotherapist. Risa Hartney was shocked when she bumped into Cage, the attraction was obviously still there but could Cage ever forgive her ? Cage's disabled brother, Jason, was desperate for Cage and Risa to get back together, Cage had raised Jason since their parents had died and they were very close. This lovely, heartwarming story follows Cage and Risa reconnecting and battling together for a young disabled boy, Brian, who life had thrown as many curved balls as it possibly could and war dog, Scotty, Brian's only friend and from whom he had been separated. I am now looking forward to Trey's story.
Such a heart-felt story. The subject matter, young people in wheelchairs, as a result of completely different reasons, breaks my heart.
I love how accepting Cage is of his brother’s situation regardless of how it came to be. That’s a whole different mind set than if he was born with a disability or had a war injury causing it. It’s refreshing how Cage has done whatever it takes to see Jason thrive in his environment and pursue his passion despite his mobility limitations. So, it’s no surprise that Cage immediately empathizes with young Brian when he visits him for the first time.
I felt so bad for Brian missing his parents and also losing his dog, Scotty, the War Dog.
I love how this story develops with Cage & Risa working together to make good things happen. There’s a very satisfying conclusion along with a wonderful HEA!
Emotional page turner that tells a story and shines some light on dark aspects. Cage is enlisted to track down a War Dog. When he arrives he finds out the parents are dead, and the child who has spina bifida is in foster care. While trying to gather information he sees Risa, his girlfriend from days gone by. This is more than a second chance, more than a search for a war dog. There is family, dysfunctional, there is family that blossoms, there is family not by blood and there are the potential for dark aspects in foster care, group homes. Not to say there isn't good in reality. Thank you for the advanced copy. I freely share my honest thoughts and opinions. #Cage #TheK9Files #DaleMayer #ValleyPublishing #Booksprout
Even though his career as a SEAL was over that does not mean that Cage wanting to help people is. When he agrees to help find a missing K9 it will also mean helping a boy find solace after everything he has been through but also bring back the woman he has loved into his life.
Risa’s biggest regret is that she ended her relationship with Cage. Seeing him again only reinforces that the feelings she has for him haven’t diminished over time and not only can she help a little boy but have a second chance with the man she has always loved.
Cage is such a good man not only when it comes to his brother but when it comes to helping anyone and everything in need. A little intrigue and a heartwarming romance as Cage and Risa find their way back to each other.
Cage by Dale Mayer The K9 Files Book Twenty-Seven Cage Shelton is asked to check on a K9 dog. What sold him was that it belonged to a boy in a wheelchair, Brian, whose parents just died. Cage’s brother Jason also uses a wheelchair, so he understands the importance of finding the dog. What he didn’t expect to find was his old flame. Risa Harney couldn’t believe it when she saw Cage. Her first instinct was to run. After all, he never tried to contact her while he was in the military, so she took that as he had moved on. Now that she saw him again, her mind wouldn’t let her rest without him being front and center. A unique, page-turning story. Loved the “good guy” characters. **Mild sexual content and language https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
I really enjoyed reading Cage . This story is a fantastic story with intrigue and suspense and it's heartwarming and a fantastic second chance romance rolled into one tale the characters are wonderful . I stayed up reading till the end . CAGE is asked if he would check into a War dog that went missing after a tragic circumstance that involves the adopted family . CAGE didn't expect to get a second chance with the one woman he lost . CAGE starts investigating to find the K9 and finds danger also . I highly recommend taking the time to read this great story .

Life hasn't been kind to Cage and his family. Accidents to his brother Jason and himself sees them working with Kit, so when Kit has a lost war dog she sends him in. While looking for Scotty, Cage comes into contact with Risa and they need to face their past before moving forward to find Scotty and help Brian out has just lost his parents and Scotty. When Cage visits Brian in his foster home, things dont feel right. Trying to find answers, the best solutions for all see major changes for all. A great read.
OMG this melted my heart despite the selfish actions and words of some characters. Risa and Cage were fabulous, so caring and loving with strong empathy for others that shone through in this story. Brian devastated with the changes to his circumstances, he deserved to end up happy. Suspenseful scenes among the emotional ones, sometimes raw and desperate. I so wanted an extra epilogue and a last reunion to round it off. Inspirational and happy ever after story of second chance love in many ways.
Fantastic! Cage, Risa, Jason, Brian, Scotty and Killian, I love them all. They all go the extra mile, they all fight for what is right and defend others. But mostly they all love with their whole hearts and they get the biggest reward for this....family. Yes there is sadness and heartbreak, crazy people, selfish people and greedy people but this is all thrown into shadow with the joy and happiness that is found. A more than successful mission for Cage!
This was a really fast moving suspenseful adventure. Cage is trying to find a War Dog Scotty that went missing as after the parents of the boy he was living with were killed in a car accident. When Cage arrives and begins to look for the dog things getting interesting. It is discovered that they were murdered and he is in a foster home that is not conducive to his life in a wheelchair. Cage also meets up with a past love and finds out why she never returned his calls.
I thought this book was very well written with believable characters. Cage and Ross have their lives turned upside down because of the hunt for a war dog. The ending was very heart warming. The spiteful mother, the.devoted step dad, the supportive brother, and the uncaring foster parents are all people we could meet on the street or be related. HEA.

Cage got an assignment like all the other exp military guys to find a lost War dog. He would never have imagined finding his past girlfriend, A murder, A murderer, A lost War dog, a disabled child and elderly man in one trip. In an unimaginable situation, Cage, Ross and three others are threatened by the murderer and seem to be facing certain death. Enjoy this action packed story!
I want to give this a higher rating. It is a great premise and I like the characters. However, it is extremely over-written in many parts, particularly the emotional exploration of who did what in which circumstances. It's like writing about bad therapy sessions. I think I will go back to an earlier book in the series and see if it's any better. Thankfully, it is. I liked the incorporation of physical challenges into everyday lives.
Another excellent read for this amazing series. So much loss for this little boy but man did Cage come to the rescue. What a storyline. A real who done it after the circumstances were proven to be a crime. Real sad living spaces for Brian. So happy that there was a happy ending for Cage, Brian, Jason, Killian and Risa and of course the war dog, Scotty. Can't wait for the next installment of the K9 Files.
A little boy in a wheelchair whose lost his family, a war dog and a man on a mission. Dale has given us quite the story. It has danger, murder, suspense and it will get your emotions going. Wonderful characters. Loved the interaction of Cage and his brother along with Risa and Brian. My favorite so far of this series.
This is another incredible entry in a series of books that never fails to impress and never disappoints. Action, tension, drama, danger and suspense are skillfully combined with heart, emotion and romance to create a story that offers up spine-tingling thrills and heart melting, heartstring tugging.
This is a story about right, wrong and unfair plus how people can make a difference. Tugs at the heart strings. Thank goodness some people can advocate for others. Thank goodness caring can make all the difference in the world. Great heartwarming story!.

Steamy, fast paced and addictive! It’s a must read! I was NOT DISAPPOINTED at all. I actually fell in love from page one with this one. Just a phenomenal read. This author always haves me coming back for me and I just look forward to every new book she releases. If you’re a fan of romantic suspense then this author and series is just for you. Happy reading
This K-9 belongs to a boy in a wheelchair who lost his parents as well! No one knows where the dog went! Thanks for mentioning Vietnam war dogs pets donated to military and left behind for the VC to torture !
I always like a second chance read and this one has more than one second chance at happiness within it which made me well super happy! Definitely some twists and I would consider more than one bad guy as well as a mother and friend that need to get lost.

Oh my goodness.. This novel had all the feels! Cage is looking for Scotty, the missing war dog. He meets up with his ex, and between them they work towards finding Scotty. Cage befriends Brian who was Scotty's owner up until Brian is orphaned due to an accident taking the lives of his parents. This novel is my favourite thus far in the series. So much love!
Oh my, Risa's mom. Her and Celine are pieces of work and kinda remind me of some people I know. I loved the storyline and how things worked out. Looking forward to reading more.

I always enjoy this series, finding the k9s and love along the way and this story was no different. A boy in a wheelchair and his dog are separated after the death of his parents. Cage is on a mission to find the dog, only it becomes so much more. Murder, kidnapping, bullets flying made this one action packed story. Not to forget Cage reconnecting with his former girlfriend. Will they all get their happy ending?
I have read every single book in the K9 Files Book series and loved them all. Of course, any good read always had a dog. I can't wait for the next book in the series
As always Dale Mayer has written a great book about K9’s and there handlers, this story was great about a handicapped boy and his K9 dog, how they were separated and reunited. Great story….
