Medium Sam Firecloud and his partner Lacey are called into a posh residence in Pasadena, California, to investigate a suicide. When they arrive, the terrified spirit immediately attaches herself to Sam, but she is so desperate and panicky that she threatens to overwhelm him with her all-consuming emotions. Sam wants to help the woman’s husband understand why she ended her life, but he’s not sure he’ll be able to cut through her anxiety in order to get to the reason behind it. And now the panic-stricken ghost refuses to let go of her grasp on the medium. Sam has never been gripped like this before in his life, and he’s not at all sure he can break out of it and bring peace to the distressed family—on both sides of the veil.

I’ve read several of the now forty-two books in this series and they never fail to be a fun read that keeps me on my toes, not being able to figure out what to expect or where the story is going. Actually there are certain things that I can expect. One, that there will be a person who has died and their spirit remains, refusing to move on to the next life. When they died (last week or a century or more ago) is up in the air. Why they’re unable to move on is a mystery. What it will take so they feel like they can move on is a question that needs to be answered so that Sam Firecloud with the assistance of his partner, Lacey Fitzpatrick, can help them move on.
This story has all of those things and yet it feels like the elements are put together in this story much differently than those books I’ve read in the series prior to this one. Hopefully it isn’t a spoiler to say that multiple lives, past and future, are involved in the hangup preventing our spirit from moving on. I always enjoy reading the books in this series and this might be my favorite, at least until the next one.

Whenever I read a book by this author, I am prepared to become emotional. That was the case with this new book Destiny Walk. The whole concept of this book is a new idea for me to ponder. Is there really a pattern to our past lives? I am not sure how I feel about a this but it is something to think about. I would like to believe that I have been a decent person in this life so I hope that will influence my next life. When Sam takes on the quest to help a spirit pass over, one can read how much of a toll e whole process takes on Sam.He was really struggling with this case. At one particular scene I was crying. Not in sad way but I felt better for the whole group. Definitely a must read!
Enjoyed all the books and recommend them to anyone who enjoys this sort of book. If you have knowledge of the way Sam works it may give you a different perspective, if you don't, welcome to another world. The family ties are close and gives some insight to Native beliefs. The stories are interesting and some convoluted but all interesting. Looking forward to reading more, in the meantime I will have to do the housework that has been ignored the last couple of weeks, no I don't watch a lot of television and lately not getting much sleep either but the cat and I are both clean and fed. Well done Melissa.
As I read this story, I was reminded of how much each story in this series has challenged my thought process . I've enjoyed each one, and I believe there is a lot we encounter every day that we don't truly understand or are consciously aware of. One point does come to mind that has set in my mind for 30 years. My grandson's birth date 5-5-95 was also the day of my cousin's death. But reading to the end reinforced my belief that the 2 events were just the course of natural events. I enjoyed the story and love the challenge to think beyond the circle we are walking in each day.
Every book in this series is great. It seems each story inspires in a different way. The message you take from each book may be much different than what I receive. They allow you to feel what Sam is feeling and also what the spirit is feeling. You don't have to be religious to be very spiritual. These books remind me what's important and what really isn't especially in this current world environment that we are experiencing. Start the series and be inspired.
Well, I have reached the end of this series of 42 books, and while I'm sad there are no more Walks to read, I look forward to finding the next series of stories written by Melissa Bowersock, because she tells fascinating tales!
I love this series! Sam and Lacey are called to to help a widower understand what happened to his wife and why she died. The story that unfolds is tragic but Sam knows he can help. I can’t wait for the next book!
Different from usual, but still excellent. Lacey and Sam are tasked with finding the cause of a young mother's suicide. It takes a different method of finding the problem to allow peace to return. Kenzie is a big help. Spooky the cat is still alert to ghosts on the premises, but is still a kitten so is entertaining. Enjoyed it. #42 in the series.
This was a little out there for me.. I know, I know this whole series is paranormal and fiction, and they touched on reincarnation before but this one was just too out there. Again, giving it a two star pains me, because I really enjoy this series but I just could not get into this plot.
