Author’s note, this book is extremely dark and has a long list of triggers! Please read those before continuing. This book is set in the world of the Murdoch mafia, Memento Mori, and the Re Della Strada with character crossovers. You don’t need to read either of those series to start this book.
Fave moment: “You see, Angel, being loved by me is a death sentence and that is why I could never commit fully to you because the fear of my past still had control of me.”
Thoughts: Finally!! I have been hanging for this story for ages!!!! I loved this book so much!! I laughed and cried and laughed so more (especially when London blows stuff up) and you best believe my heart broke! The FMC was always strong, determined and independent. Seeing her broken and fragile was hard. But the love the MMC has for her! Swoooon! He literally would drop everything for her. The way the families gathered around and protected her has my eyes leaking!! So much action happens in this book and you will yell at our queen (Samantha!) thinking she is going to kill off one of our faves but she comes to her senses in the end lol she knows better *wink wink* Such a great read. Loved it.
This is Amelia and Cronus's book and I'm so glad we got her story. After leaving her family as she wanted to be a doctor and leave the mafia life behind we see the trauma she has faced and how much she needs her family to step in and help her.
Once again another book in this world did not disappoint , however this was a bittersweet read as it is possibly the last mafia book in this world that Sam has created. The Murdoch Mafia is how I started reading this author so I'm interested to see where she takes us readers next.
*"Damned by his Angel"** is about Angel and Grizz's story. Angel wanted to be free from all this mafia life. After all, she saved lives, and her family took them. After being dragged out of her apartment to patch a member of the family up, she begs to be let go. The Don releases her from the family duties, knowing it's hurting her inside to be a part of what they do. Anagel walks out with her head held high, but not after Grizz tries to stop her.
Angel lives her life, but when a past lover comes back to take revenge on her family, there goes that tough, grave, and brave girl that she grew up to be. When the man she thought loved her abuses and controls her she is forced to become someone she doesn't even recognize. When she finds out she's pregnant, she knows there's only one choice to make, and that is to run from the man she thought would give her the world but turned out to be a monster. There is only one place that she feels the safest, and that is with Grizz—the man her heart truly belongs to.
Grizz was lost once, and after Angel left, he shut down again and had to leave his family behind to become someone he thought he was worthy of. He lived in a small town where no one knew who he truly was. He met two elderly people who became like parents to him, so when Bill told him a new girl was in town asked him by his name and waiting for him at his home, he knew immediately who it was. Griss arrived at his house to find a person hiding behind a tree. He realized it was Angel.
Can they get back to a place where they both owned each other's hearts, or will their past rip them apart? Read Damned by his Angel and find out.
The queen has outdone herself yet again. This book tops all the mafia books. I felt a ton of emotions reading this book. Our angel is not a baby anymore. She's just who we thought she would grow up to be: strong, brave, and magnificent. Grizz is just 🥵. I have waited since the first book for my favorite mafia kid to have her own story, and finally, we have it. This is goodbye to the Mafia series (maybe?), but what a way to go out! Samantha, thank you for this amazing series. I know I said it before, but this book will hold a place in my heart.
Wow. Can I just say that again WOW. This book was just amazing. I’ve been waiting for Amelia’s book. It was definitely well worth the wait. She was so strong in all the other books when interacting with her dad and her cousins. To see her go through all the trauma she went through and than to rise up from it. My hats off to her. She was not gonna let her unhinged a$$ of an Ex take away her control, independence, freedom and self worth. Cronos has loved his Angel (Amelia) for years. Than she walked away. When she needed help she turned to Grizz (Cronos). After Grizz and Angel worked out their anger and everything else they were in it win it. Grizz vows to protect his Angel from her doorknob of an Ex. Who fights dirty.
With the Murdoch Mafia’s, Momento Mori’s, Re Della Strada and The Godfathers of the Night all come together to assist Amelia and Grizz. They are all ruthless and will go to hell and back to protect their families. Lots of page turning moments. Could not put this book down. Lots of twist and turns. I was hooked from page 1 all the way to the end.
It’s feels so bittersweet that the whole mafia series / world has come to an end. Definitely had to get that box of Kleenex. To say that I loved all the book is an understatement. I freaking devoured these books in 1-2 night of reading each book. I’m definitely going to go back and reread them all. I’m going to miss all families within each Mafia group. I felt like I was part of their journey. I haven’t laughed and cried so much in books as I have with Samantha Barrett’s Mafia Books. She is by far my favourite mafia author of all time. I also love her other books that she’s written. Definitely check her books out. You’ll be missing out if you don’t.
Thank you Samantha Barrett for another outstanding amazing book. Once again you did it. Every book of yours just keeps getting better and better. Thank you for being you. You’re an amazing writer and person!!!! Your my Queen!!!
Samantha’s books became an auto read of mine after Kings book. I knew this book would be an emotional land mine with it being the end of the Mafia series. Damned by his Angel took us THROUGH it y’all.
The emotions that King went through had me in tears. His interaction with Meelz when she comes home-ugh just waterfalls. Have tissues.
Cronos- LOVED HIM! Pretty sure he is my Bronze medalist in this series behind Chaos and King. His dirty talk, his dominance and whew the SPICE IS SPICIN 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (there is sharing of the FMC, not cheating tho, just heads up- it was well done and sexy as hell) and the love he felt for Amelia, when he finally figured it out -was a burn the world type of love and I’m here for it.
Amelia- a little disappointed in her character can’t lie. I get that she went through some sh@& but the back and forth of weak/strong kind of annoyed me. There are times she is a badass but then times she is hiding behind Cronos like a child. I’m like girl, you’re Kings daughter- come on. As with all the MFC in Ms. Barrett’s books, she endured ALOT. This is also an age gap with the FMC being older. I really enjoyed the reverse age gap. Well done.
It’s always fun to see the return of beloved characters and this book did not disappoint.
Super sad to see the end of this world but what a ride!
You do not need to read the entire series prior to this one but I ask you….why wouldnt you? I cannot wait to see what comes next from Ms. Barrett.
This book was heartbreaking, heart-warming, and over-all amazing! Amelia has always tried to separate herself from her family's mafia lifestyle. As a doctor she would rather save lives than end them. She moves to Chicago to live her dream, but her life turns into a nightmare. Her boyfriend, Colson ends up abusing her physically, mentally, and emotionally. She quits her job and he intentionally gets her pregnant. He does all this because he wants to take down her family. Amelia manages to escape and seeks out the one person she knows won't turn her away. Cronos lost his first love in a brutal manner. He did not think he would find love again until he met Amelia. Amelia wanted nothing to do with Cronos since he is part of the Greek mafia but she knows he will protect her.
I could not wait to read about Amelia. She has always stood out as a strong, independent woman who knows what she wants. She stood up against her family and went after her dream. Her actions allowed other members of her family to live alternate lifestyles also. Although, her life was derailed she sought help and found her happily ever after. Cronos is absolutely everything! He is fierce, dirty-talking, and willing to do everything to protect those he cares for. As always, make sure you check the trigger warnings!
I am so sad that the Murdoch Mafia and spin off books are ending! If you have not read these, you are seriously missing out! Samantha Barrett has become one of my favorite authors and I can't wait to see what she does next!
Damned by his Angel. Cronos this is the final book to the series. Cronos and Amelia’s story. If you have been following so far you know who these two are. Cronos leaves behind his family and moves to a small town in Minnesota where he becomes their caretaker. Amelia connects again with Colson ( college boyfriend) and he is a rightful bastard towards her. She gets pregnant and the abuse she has to endear from his hands is horrible. She finally makes her escape and finds Cronos. Together they try to keep hidden so Colson doesn’t find her. They wind up back at her families compound and all hell breaks loose. This was such an epic end to what was an amazing series. I’m sad that it’s done , but oh what a great ride it was to escape into this mafia world. Samantha Barrett is an exceptional author. You need to open your mind and read her books. She is an incredibly talented woman.
Samantha is truly one of my favorite , favorite authors ever . There is not one book of hers I can’t say I didn’t enjoy her or that I didn’t want to read 1,000 times .
This book the relationship the brothers have is so emotional, will do anything for one another . Tried to keep the triplets at all costs. Cronos has had a rough past in the love department with his two loves being ripped away from him.
Amelia has lived through sooo much in this book from beating beaten is put through he✌️it’s hard to read :-( you feel for her throughout this book.
I’m not going to ruin this for you! You seriously need to read this book ! It’s aooo good Trigger warnings …..
All I’m going to say is thank god for Bill he becomes one of my favorite characters in this book.
Omg what a bitter sweet moment this is, this is the last book in the whole Murdoch Mafia series and im incredibly sad about that, Ive loved each and every book and I love the characters so so much but holy hell what a finale this is, I devoured this book , I couldnt put it down when I say I went through every emotion possible im not lying , this story pulls you in all directions and you can't help but keep coming back for more !! Wonderful writing as always and Sam's definitely gone out on a high !! Run dont walk to download , you won't be disappointed!
Damned by His Angel by Samantha Barrett was everything I want in a dark, emotional read. From the very beginning, it pulled me in and refused to let go. The chemistry is intense, the emotions run deep, and the story is beautifully addictive.
I flew through this book and thought about it even when I wasn’t reading. It’s passionate, gripping, and perfectly written for anyone who loves a romance with depth, tension, and a little darkness. Highly recommend, this one deserves every star. 🔥📖
Crono' will forever be daddy in mine and Samantha's eyes. 💕😘
I was soooo excited that Amelia was going to get a book. Then, when I found out who the lead mc was, it became a 100% must read on release day. Let me say I devoured this book in 1 day. The storyline was not what i expected. Honestly, I can say that I was kinda disappointed in Amelia's character, but as the story evolved, I was like , there's Amelia I know. Am kinda sad that this is the last book for this family and Mafia world, but I can always hope that they will make appearances in other stories.
This was the 2nd book in the series so if read in order the reader knows most of the characters. So I loved the way there were so many twists and unexpected paths. I don't want to give any spoilers but the 2 main characters had to come to terms with their pasts before they could forge ahead to any future. Readers will enjoy the way they come together despite forces trying to tear them apart.
This book, I just knew that it would break me and then put me back together again. Ahh I just love all the books Samantha writes! I am so sad that these series are finished
I liked that we got to get a better understanding of each character and loved their development, which happened gradually. I'm not going to spoil anything, but as Samantha Barrett loves doing, there will be little surprises that will have you happy, mad, and then sad. It's totally worth going through.
I never fail to get captivated by Samantha’s books Cronos’ and Amelia - OMG This book went a bit different than what I was envisioning while I was reading - and it was so much better!! I laughed and cried reading it. I’m sad this is the end of Murdoch family (and extended families)
This one is a quick whirlwind of a read. Cronos is dark deliciousness. He and Amelia are sooo perfect for each other. Not sure when Samantha will be delving into Mafia again, but I know anything she writes is going to be absolute gold.
This was okay. Just like the first book in this dualogy, there is incorrect use of words present throughout. I did really enjoy the Mafia families' dynamics and the HEA. Be warned, there is a good bit of physical and mental abuse in this book.
I loved this book but I’m so sad Barrett is done with the Murdoch family. I have loved these books and love the characters. I am definitely going to miss them!
Cronos has separated from his family's criminal lifestyle to find something of his own. He's created a life so vastly different from anything he's had before. Amelia has also been trying to separate herself from her family name for years. She has finally been released from family obligation to go after the freedom she's always tried to hold on to. But their situations have worked out very differently.
It turns out that the guy Amelia got caught up with in college was not what he seemed. Now he's back in her life and all she wants to do is get away from him. That drives her to search out Cronos. They had a connection that we saw hints at in the last book. She goes to him for safety, protection, and to hide, but can't help but wonder what could be.
Even though there's a ten year age difference between Amelia and Cronos, he's been through enough in his life that it doesn't matter. He's wise beyond his years. And even though she hurt him when she pushed him away before, he can't help how he feels for her.
More secrets are unraveled and danger is coming. Amelia and Cronos have to decide what they really want and what they're willing to do to make it happen. And Amelia must face the truth of what really happened years ago that unknowingly started a chain of events. She must decide whether or not she can face the family that she desperately fought to be free of.
This book was so good. I was really looking forward to Cronos and Amelia's story and Samantha did not disappoint. And I loved seeing all the different interconnected families in this world make a reappearance in one way or another. I'm definitely not ready to let this bookverse go yet so I hope we get more.
