This was HOT!!! HAWT!! PIPING!! I'm so impressed with how full this story felt despite being a novella and also loved the dynamic of this trio; bright and bubbly hot girl singer, grumpy and serious hot older captain guy, and charismatic and Cheeky hot pretty boy. Like common denominator is that they were all hot so loved that.
And the sex scenes were so good and steamy!! And very well balanced like everyone was getting their share AMEN!
And I loved that there was such a satisfying little ending like they out here living their best lives and I love that.
I would honestly read another story with these characters and any other side quests/adventures they'd go on.

i saw tia williams recommend this in something and i adore tia williams so i downloaded it. i am officially a fan of adriana herrera. like she won me over in 138 pages, that has to be a record. this was a quick story but it could’ve been regular length and i would’ve eaten it up. there was plot, chemistry, it was just a lot of fun. just what i needed in between other books. i’m not in a slump but i feel like this would be perfect to help get someone out of one, it’s so fast paced. can’t wait to pick up her other books!!

Rosalía Ferrer is escaping her creepy incestuous brother when her stowaway craft is boarded by super sexy bootleggers Camden "Cam" McCollough and Vincenzo "Enzo" (last name not found). While figuring out how to get out of the bootlegging game, they also end up figuring out how to get into the throuple game.
1. Another turn-of-the-century romance more focused on the banging then the vibes.
2. Also, really terribly edited? Like, a few copy-editing errors, a lot of repeated words, a lot of confusing stage directions, etc.
3. I also just have to point out the inherit weirdness of these 3 doing the sex all over the boat—in the captain's bunk (which is apparently not soundproofed lol) and then on deck right there where you do the steering.
And then one chapter later, Cam is like "damn I will have to have Some Words with these horny horndogs about discretion" UM. Dude, you literally fucked Enzo on deck the night before do you even know the meaning of the word??

Adriana Herrera has done it again👏👏 Balancing the chemistry and connection between two characters is hard enough, but she made balancing three of them look EASY! And don’t even get me started on the historical world building! There was such a rich background on both the characters and the time period itself, I was fully transported to that time. (Do I like the pet name ‘Doll’ or was it just when Cam and Enzo said it?) Let’s not even get into the spice either because Adriana is going to bring it every single time😮💨 If anyone is looking for a spicy, historical romance novella, this is the one!!

jesus. as an Adriana Herrera devotee, jesus fucking christ! spice is an understatement. like I knew going in that this was an extra spicy book and I still was wildly under prepared. the plot was the porn. I did love the Caña Brava references in the book (only true Herrera fans would get it). she's kinda real af for this book though bc she wrote three stunning, incredibly well researched books, then decided she just wanted to fuck around and write prohibition smut. the funniest part though is it still felt time period accurate. my historical fiction queen 🙌. I really don't know how to feel about this book bc like, on one hand, it was actually good, and on the other it was wildly horny, to the point I was rooting for the characters to keep it in their goddamned pants. like grow up! but even with minimal non-smut scenes, Herrera still managed to write loveable, complex characters who grew throughout the far too short book. I would've read another hundred pages easily. also this is my first mmf book and I've decided I will never read another unless there's gay shit in it. otherwise what's the point? I want a true three way relationship where they're all equally intimate and in love like in this book or I want nothing at all. eventually I plan to get through everything this woman has written. I really love the way she writes and develops characters. although a lot sometimes, the sex scenes move the story forward in a meaningful way. Herrera does it the best, what can I say 🤷♀️.

I loved how the author attention to detail in every aspect of the world they created is easily pictured while reading. Instantly I clearly envisioned the world I was devouring in my mind.

I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect when I started reading this…but boy am I glad that I did!
This was horny as hell and entertaining as fuck. I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t pull away. I was engaged from beginning to end.
Truly the only reason this lost 1/2 a 🌟 was because of personal preference. Truly without Enzo this story would not have hit for me the way it does. I have this thing…this thing where I only tolerate dom men with a sub woman if they’re in a monster romance…or if the woman is a brat. In this one, although Rosi isn’t really a brat, Enzo sure as fuck is. And he is the true saving grace of this novella for me. There’s nothing I love more than a brat annoying the shit out of his dom 🙏🏼 That’s a true gift…and Enzo looking like an angel while being an obnoxious pain in the ass is the gift that keeps on giving 💖 I adore him. Thank you for your service, Enzo 🤝
Let me reiterate… The spicy scenes in this were HOT. If you enjoy a polyamorous relationship, this book DELIVERS. I loved the dynamic between Rosi, Enzo, and Cam. They were a delight to follow. The chemistry was definitely there.
Also. I should note that, although there’s plenty of spicy scenes, this does still have a plot line to follow in the background. Sure, it’s not as significant in most of the story, but all the characters had troubles from their pasts that they were trying to escape. It’s part of what kept my interest beyond the smutty scenes.
Anyway. I loved this. I had a blast, and I would highly recommend it.

Between below-deck BJs and above-deck serenades, these three try to find their jazz club happy ending by fulfilling one last rum run.
Camden & Rosalia & Enzo
All three of them truly compliment each other and are the missing pieces that each other need. Both in business with the jazz club but also personally. While this could very easily be read as just a ton of excellent smut, it’s that, but it’s also threading together an emotional tie that’s pretty beautiful. I also totally love that Enzo has been straight pining for Cam for years, wanting to literally get on his knees for his captain. It was a nice addition to the building tension and also made it believable that these three would engage in play. The simmering attraction was already there between these two, and when you throw in the firecracker honeypot that is Rosalia it’s pure perfection.
This was a super spicy novella with a fun premise and dash of adventure! I buddy read this with my best friend and we had many hilarious text exchange discussing not only the various positions we expected this trio to get up to, but also some of our plot predictions.

A sexy little slice of antagonists to lovers x3, this has just enough plot to string together the sex scenes. It was blisteringly hot, with lots of dirty talk and exhibitionism, and three people who just can't help but come together over and over. The time period was one I haven't read much, set during prohibition, and I liked that most of took place on a boat. The BIPOC rep was present, but very much a background note here, which works perfectly for the story. I hadn't read the original novella that was published as part of the anthology, but I was satisfied with this horny nugget from Adriana.

I wish this book was 1000 pages I loved it so much! The dynamic in relationships were delicious! I loved Rosalia's determination and fierceness. I loved Camden and Enzo as well and how they played off of each other. This book was steamier than I expected! I thought the heist was going to be the main plot but it focused more on the romance aspect which I loved!

I originally read this story in the Villain I'd Like to F... anthology and this is an extended version of the story and really enjoyed it.
As typical with Adriana Herrera, the story has queer and diverse main characters, which i love, and also super steamy. I'm sure to say this is the hottest story I've read by Adriana.

I wanted to love this, but alas. However it’s a very fun and SUPER spicy read with some very dramatic wonderful characters. It feels a little repetitive for the length but I’m not mad at it. High drama, big feelings, high heat, lots of spice for such a novella. Fun characters!

The smut wasnt terrible but it wasnt my cup of tea. I enjoy my books with a little more plot and character development. Having two pages in between each smut scenario doesn’t allow for much of that. There also wasnt much world building which didnt really give the essence of it being in the 20s outside of the mention of bootlegging, wardrobe and club scene. I read to about 40% before losing interest to one of my other books.
If you want just smut and dont care for much else, this might be for you.

January 18, 2025Tried to give it the ol’ college try, but only made it 1 chapter/12% in. 🥲 There are just too many things I don’t like here (starting off with sexual assault and a very real threat of rape, villain heroes, stupid sexual tension in places where it doesn’t belong…) for me to try to push through, especially when my friends who *have* read further have assured me I won’t like it anyway. Ah well. 😅

DNF at 60%. I’m sorry I just can’t take another “he licked her labia”. Also I HATE the way this author writes. Good fuck. I was so close so many times. The plot is iffy. The smut is terrible. The characters are questionable at best. I just hate this book. I don’t think there was any saving quality. And like it’s not even a long book. I just can’t.

This is a revised, expanded version of the short story Adriana Herrera wrote for the Villain I'd Like to F... anthology in 2022. I had a lot of fun reading this queer, poly romance that not only has racially diverse characters and an interesting setting we rarely see in historicals (the Caribbean), but it was also SUPER hot. There's nine chapters plus and epilogue, and it doesn't take the characters very long to act on their attraction towards one another.
This story was initially a part of an anthology about villains so obviously Cam, our bootlegger and kidnapper, has few qualms about accepting Rosalía's offer to have sex with him in exchange for passage to New York City. And Enzo, my favorite bratty nepo baby gangster and bane of Cam's existence, has only a few more scruples. But Rosalía isn't passive in all this; she isn't afraid to express her wants and desires, and she keeps pushing when she doesn't achieve her ends. I loved the dynamic between the three of them— there's this great mix of dirty moments peppered with sweet. And while the book is relatively light on external plot, it does build up to a quick, final heist before the three of them can settle together once and for all.
The sex:
There are multiple sex scenes, all high heat and on the rougher end. I loved the initial instances of voyeurism (particularly Enzo tragically jerking off when he hears Cam with Rosalía early on lol) and a sex act near the end when they're all together that's relatively rare even in poly romances.
Rosalía is a woman who knows what she wants and I do appreciate when an fmc gives as good as she gets in terms of dirty talk. And the dirty talk is BONKERS HOT all around; the degradation, the praise, plus immaculate use of pet names, from Cam calling Enzo "boy" (derogatory) and "brat" (mostly affectionate) to Enzo's tender use of "belleza" for Rosalía.
Also, I love that Enzo is a *brat* and tbh so does Cam even if he doesn't want to admit he's into it until after multiple up-close-and-personal confrontations. Between Enzo and Rosalía, they keep Cam on his toes, like, the vibe there definitely "I can't leave you two alone, can I?" (He can't, and he shouldn't).
Overall:
I really enjoyed this book! I'd recommend it to any romance reader looking for a a quick, high-heat read that is refreshingly diverse as far as historical romances go.

And the dirty talk is BONKERS HOT all around; the degradation, the praise, plus immaculate use of pet names, from Cam calling Enzo "boy" (derogatory) and "brat" (mostly affectionate) to Enzo's tender use of "belleza" for Rosalía.
Also, I love that Enzo is a *brat* and tbh so does Cam even if he doesn't want to admit he's into it until after multiple up-close-and-personal confrontations. Between Enzo and Rosalía, they keep Cam on his toes, like, the vibe there definitely "I can't leave you two alone, can I?" (He can't, and he shouldn't).
Overall:
I really enjoyed this book! I'd recommend it to any romance reader looking for a a quick, high-heat read that is refreshingly diverse as far as historical romances go.
