a good very brief summary of european history which is a LOT to cover, definitely good as a general refresher too. the information was decently digestible and I appreciated the inclusion of maps even though they were sometimes hard to read on my kindle haha.
The author has a readable history. However, he repeats the story that the camps were unknown to the Allies. I have sat in DC reading the newspapers that had stories about the death camps. The military made a decision to go after the Nazis and not make the camps a mission.
This is an excellent overview of events and figures that shaped the country. It lays out some intriguing facts about Europe's past leading up to today. It is well written and makes for a great book to have on hand for reference.

A good job of weaving together material from previous books. Not much new here if you've read the other books as I have. Good news, I didn't pay for it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is an informative and easy to follow overview of the history of Europe. I enjoyed reading this book.
Overall, it is an interesting read! If you're a history buff, this is definitely something you'd like. It covers a wide breadth of history within Europe, including several cultural, economic, and political groups. I will say, as a consequence of focusing on European history, it's very European forward - as in Europeaness is the best. And I find that the author missed a lot of the nuance that comes with many of the peoples and actions throughout the centuries. I feel like the faults of these people, the wrongness in their actions aren't addressed.
