In a world on the brink of nuclear war, one man stands between peace and global chaos.
Following the devastating aftermath of a nuclear detonation in the Panama Canal, the world teeters on the edge of war. The Russian president's claims about a hidden Soviet weapons depot in Georgia escalate tensions, pushing the globe closer to the abyss of conflict.
Acting U.S. President Jordan Stratton faces a nation in turmoil, grappling with the shadows of recent terrorist attacks and the critical condition of President Maggie Trousdale. Amidst this chaos, Reed Montgomery, the leader of a covert black ops team, is thrust into the heart of the storm. Challenged by personal demons and the weight of national security on his shoulders, Reed is sent on a critical mission to uncover the truth behind the Russian allegations.
But in Georgia, Reed and his team's quest quickly spirals into a deadly game of cat and mouse with heavily armed Russian forces. When the team discovers that yet another weapon of mass destruction is already en route to slaughter tens of thousands, the only path forward is to throw themselves right into the jaws of disaster…or risk the next world war.

I received an ARC through "Severn River" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This story begins with Reed and his team bringing Ivan to a CIA safe house to be interviewed. This is inrelation to the nuclear bomb that exploded at Panama. Reed is still letting the death of his unborn daughter take hold of his feelings and ignoring his wife, Blake. The President is still in the hospital with liver issues caused by the attempted assassination. Acting President Stratton is trying to hold the country together.
Russia has a plan to invade Georgia using the pretext of a hidden arms depot. They have identified that the nuclear bomb was taken from there and they were sending a force to find any other arms. Ivan leader that the Russian force is a ploy to overrun Georgia. Shortly thereafter, Reed and his team, less Turk, are heading to Georgia to find out what was going on. Their hunt led them into the battle the Russians were waging against Georgia. The Russian were using this as a steppingstone to take over Azerbaijan. They intended to explode a bomb and then use the same logic for their incursion.
Reed and his team were then given the assignment to stop the bomb. Using a vehicle they stole, they followed the truck carrying the bomb. They were several miles behind and trying to catch up. Once they got close, a battle ensued.
To discover how Reed and his team, Wolfgang and Ivan, were able to leave Georgia and what assistannt the crew from yheir plane contributed, then you need to read this book.
The ending will leave you wondering "What's Next?"
Jumping into a series at book 7 may not have been the smartest choice. However, once I figured out who the players were (with the help of past reviews on book 1-6) the pieces started coming together. So, while I would not recommend starting with book 7, it is possible. I do think I would have liked the main character, Reed, better had I started at the beginning. I also listened to the audio version so it took some time to differentiate between the different characters. With that being said, this series is worth reading/listening to from the start. I really enjoyed the multiple viewpoints, and while the main character was not my favorite at first, he was redeemed through Turk’s dedication and Lucy’s faith. His team’s commitment to him and their belief they could pull him back from the abyss was a turning point. How your team follows and supports you reveals someone’s true character. This is fast paced with a lot of political maneuvers and moving pieces. The fog of war was used effectively and showed how, in any plan, the other side always gets a say (both good and evil). I also enjoyed the personal story additions throughout giving the overall series continuity and how imperfect even the good guys are. I am fully invested, even after jumping in at book 7, in what happens next – I mean, seriously … what an ending!!! Definitely reading/listening to book 8!
Nuclear Nation (The Prosecution Force Thrillers Book 7), my second read from author Logan Ryles. If you like Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, or Tom Clancy or David Bruns & J.R. Olson you'll like this espionage thriller. Well-written with well-developed main characters that continue to grow in depth and a 380-page noir terrorism thriller that continually develops throughout the length of the book. After reading this I've decided to go back and read the books in the series I'd not yet read. I look forward to Ryles’s first book in the series, in fact Brink of War: A Prosecution Force Thriller (The Prosecution Force Thrillers Book 1) is high on my TBR list. “I received a Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Just when you thought the last few volumes maxed out the adrenaline, Ryles takes it up another notch in this compelling and frightening edition in the Prosecution Force series! Reed and the gang have their hands full as usual - working under time constraints and bureaucracy to stop another disaster from happening. They end up doing things their own way, and in the process, learn the Russian leader is playing a nefarious game of domination with potentially calamitous results.
Throughout, it's a potent cocktail of angst, blind rage and determination - especially on Reed's part - but at what personal cost?
Hang on to your seat, as the finish is one heck of a cliffhanger. Will Reed and company be able to continue the fight, or is it the end of line for the Force? Stay tuned...
Reed is driving me nuts, his on the edge, everyone can see it no one does anything about it The book is broken down into 3 or 4 sub plots all interlinked and then theres the storyline covering O'Dell. Stratton, the VP struggles with getting America motivated, never seen that happen, Aimes seems to have the might of the CIA at her finger tips yet fails to use most of it The O'Dell storyline beggars belief. You can see where it's going and its so implausible, I didn't bother reading the chapters dedicated to it Book 8 needs to seriously up it game, or that will be the last for me
All of the page turning action you have come to expect from Reed Montgomery who is in a grand funk after the killing of his unborn son. You will see a side to Acting President Stratton you may not have seen before and how far will O'Dell go to get a liver for Muddy Maggie? An "old" Russian bomb has gone off in Panama and Russia uses that was an excuse to take over Georgia where they have some older weapons in storage. It is a rather thinly veiled diversion for a much bigger plan. A much bigger plan requires a much bigger weapon. A bomb that would be blamed on America!
This is the exact same book as each of the previous books in this series. Reed is a mess, his wife/girlfriend wants nothing to do with him until he’s gone, the US gets outsmarted at the UN, the bad guys are smarter and have the upper hand, then Reed pulls victory out of his ass despite bring a dickbag, the wife/girlfriend pulls her head outta her ass, the US wins at the UN…most of the characters are assholes and I actively hate them, except Sinju and Turk. This is the novel equivalent of Pachelbels cannon.
I received an advanced copy of this book for my honest review. This is a great continuation of this excellent series. The action is not quite continuous but, very close. It keeps the reader guessing and wanting more. The characters are all great and believable. As with most book series this book should read in order to better understand the complete story.
Started out slow but picked up quickly. I rated it lower because I'm tired of the "short story" approach - just give me one longer finished book. This book abruptly ended at a crisis - and let me read the first 3 chapters of the next book. The earlier books in this series finished one story then something else happened in the next one. If #8 doesn't tie this all up I'm done with this author
Didn't enjoy this one as much as the rest of the series. Russia claims there is a hidden stash of nuclear weapons in Georgia and uses this as ruse to destabilize the region. This book feels like a bridging storyline, not much character development but setting a scene for the next book.
Author Ryles has ambitiously created a whole universe where things are going horribly wrong, and created the heroes to help. The only disappointment about this book is it ends on multiple cliffhangers.
Fast movie thriller that has the Prosecution Force operating against Russian forces and agents after the detonation of a nuclear bomb in an attempt to discover who is behind the attacks designed to start world war three.
Logan Rules has has come up with a story so frightening that no one wants to think that it could really happen, but could it? In today's world, so full of political, social and financial unrest do any of us really know?
The ghost of Reed’s dead daughter, ignoring his wife and the Russians setting off a second nuclear explosion are only some of the challenges Reed and the team must face this time.
Series has started to become the never ending story. In addition Reed is looking more and more schizophrenic. Not what you want to see in your protagonist. #8 needs to bring this story line to the end and Reed Montgomery needs to get back to who he was. Otherwise #8 will be my last read in the series.
PROSECUTION FORCE SERIES: Source: Ryles' ARC team. NUCLEAR NATION, #7 - Intense. Intriguing. Interesting. Kinda wonders about the Team's future after reading this quick paced, action filled, twisty-turny book. Man, I love Ivan; he adds so much to the meaty parts. Hope Eight gets published ASAP. 5*
FAILED STATE, #4 - My first of this series and I did not miss the first three books. Standalone, interesting with Wolfgang as a member of another "group". 4*
FIRESTORM, #5 - Totally mesmerizing. I could not put down this action-filled, fast-paced, intriguing story with its great, and no so good, characters and interesting story lines. Enjoyed Wolfgang's prosthesis. 15*
WHITE ALERT, #6 - Full of intrigue and suspense, multiple players, and interesting story lines. Add in a few happenings and surprises to make a hard to put down book. 5*
