This books cover is so gorgeous and says so much. A life cut short, a romance ended before it could truly flourish but with him as ghost maybe they can have closure.
This book for sure gave me a lot of feelings. The sense of loss and grief that follows. Claire for sure was a character that had me feeling her pain and her confusion. She was really well written for her age of group. She was written as a teenager perfectly. I could tell by the way I wanted to smack her on the back of the head for the decisions she was making but I understood why she made them. The conflict of alcoholism with her mom made it all more emotional. It showed how sometimes we hide from the pain of our past to rough alcohol abuse. To see her recover and finally deal with her past was amazing work witness
I could compare this book to, You’ve Reached Sam but I actually liked this book more than that one.
It was more realistic. I related and sympathized more to Claire and Fin.
This book left satisfied after a roller coaster of emotions.
I would for sure recommend this book to anyone looking for a book to make you feel.

Thanks to the amazing folks at Netgally for a copy of this book. My reviews is a honest reflection of my feelings towards this book.

I’m the author Somewhere Between Dandelions! While this is a YA novel, it truly has something for readers of all ages. If you’re looking to re-experience those magical butterfly feelings of first love, this book is for you. If you’ve lost someone and have dealt with grief or know someone who has-you might find something magical here. If you want a book that might make you cry, but will leave you feeling hopeful, this is for you. There is romance, family drama, twists, grief, forgiveness, healing and love. I’m biased, but I do think it’s worth reading and sharing with the world. 💖

“Wishes don’t come true. Not the ones made on candles pushed into birthday cakes or those whispered in the dark with hands pressed together. Especially not the ones made on dandelions.”

Somewhere Between Dandelions pulled me in from those first three sentences. It is the story of Claire who finds love, looses it, only to have it come back again. And yet, the story is so much more than that. This is a story of deep grief and sadness, hope, finding joy in small places, healing and the sweetness of wishing on dandelions.

Trisha Larson Harmon’s words float off the pages and softly land on your heart.

Thank you to the author, Trisha Larson Harmon and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this arc.

“I will find you in another life.” 😭

I’ll be honest, YA is not my usual pick. However, this book totally blew me away. I read while also listening to the audiobook for a fully immersive experience. I’ve never listened to an audiobook narrated by the author before, but I really loved this one. Something about listening to how the author wrote it is actually really amazing.

Without any spoilers, this book is a partly sad but wholesome reminder that come what may, we’ll all be okay eventually.

This book deals with loss, love, healing, secrets and learning to forgive. Claire is a high school student who doesn’t have many people in her corner. Her Mimi who took care of her from a young age, dies. Her mother is an alcoholic s ignores her, her best friend moves away. She’s liked Finn since they were young. He finally asks her out and it’s as if they’ve known each other forever. They have an amazing date, then he too dies, then she realizes she can see his ghost.
It’s about gifts from beyond the grave, about love and learning to love and forgive. It is beautifully written and touched me due my own grief that I feel.
This story will pull on your heart strings and maybe help you to deal with grief and forgiveness.

Once I picked this up, I could not stop reading. This YA novel is about love and loss—grief and healing. It was dialogue-heavy in the best way that kept the story moving forward. What a refreshing read—cried a bit, laughed, and just feeling so…hopeful. If you’re looking for a YA novel to give your heart a little buzz, this book will be for you.

Harmon's first novel definitely did not disappoint. She created a captivating story about both love and loss. The characters were well developed and engaging. Many lessons can be learned about life and how to heal from unhealthy relationships. I definitely recommend that you give this first time author a try. You won't be disappointed.

The love in your heart will keep those we lost in our memory.

This story has a way of touching you especially if you have lost somebody you love. Clair has an alcoholic mother. She recently lost her Mimi who really raised her. But now Finn, a boy she has crushed on for most of her life, has finally asked her out. The date was everything she hoped for and the kiss was a dream come true. Tragically he passes away the next day. At the memorial service she sees him. Only she can see him as they continue to learn about each other. He cannot move on until she helps him with something. So the story begins as they work together to mend his family and hers. The relationship is a sweet one and I could help but think of my father who passed when I was only 22 years old and how our relationship solidified during his last year as we prepared for his passing with ALS. In the end all we have is our love and memories to sustain us.

I want to thank the author for providing the audiobook to me. This review is voluntary and my honest opinion. The author is also the narrator. I enjoyed this book a lot and it touched my soul.

This book instantly drew me in from the first line. While the author does an excellent job capturing those giddy rush of emotions of a high school crush/relationship, it’s also a complex look at grief, trauma, loss, and hope.

I thoroughly enjoyed following Claire’s journey through grief, trauma, family secrets, and the beginning of healing. Harmon’s writing is enveloping and easy to follow with stunning moments that simply take your breath away and make you want to cry. I highly recommend it - despite being a YA book, I feel most ages will enjoy it.

Somewhere Between Dandelions is a beautifully-written debut from Trisha Larson Harmon. This book will evoke all of the emotions and will definitely pull on your heartstrings. This YA novel is about a teenager named Claire Goodnight. She has liked a boy named Finn since she was a little girl. She and Finn finally have their first date, which is absolutely perfect. Tragedy strikes soon after, however, and Claire's life will never be the same. The author masterfully writes about Claire's life as she navigates through loss and heartbreak. This is so beautifully-written and had me feeling all the feelings. I highly recommend this book!

*EDIT after seeing the authors video about my review, seems some people in the comments thought I was stupid and honestly I agree partially, my review could've been better. So let's fix it.*

First things first I was given a copy of the audiobook for free ( I responded to her Tik Tok ) in exchange for an honest review 😊 thank you for this copy Trisha!

So I didn't hate this book and I don't think it's a bad book. Only rating "bad books" deserve is a 1🌟 and I can tell this wasn't my cup of tea BUT I am trying to branch out so I gave it a shot, especially since the Author was generous enough to give me a free code. I give 2 stars to books that I didn't enjoy but it wasn't the book, it was me. That being said I did see some issues with this book. They are below, I added and took out from some of what I had to better represent my opinion of this story.

1. Ghosts having sex with humans shouldn't happen in any story. Ever. Sorry this is staying.

2. I don't see the point in Finn being a ghost honestly. This I'll take back. I was wrong. I think my blinded rage hate for Finn as A MMC just took over. He did help multiple people, or tried to. But I do think he was overly weird even for a ghost. I just didn't really like him so I'll just say it, I'm biased here.

3. Our FMC managed to be very annoying. But oddly accepting that she after a day was dating a ghost and totally was cool with it. Please tell me this wasn't a little silly? Maybe a little more shock factor could have been presented.

Side bar: the love triangle felt a little silly since both characters basically agreed Tyler was the obvious choice from the start and that they were both being crazy. Also was this a love triangle? One didn't know the other was around cause he was dead...and a ghost...idk. I usually just read fantasy / sci Fi maybe this is normal and I'm out of the loop.

4. Every character felt like they weren't fleshed out enough. I mentioned before this was due to the size of the novel/novella and I think a little more detail would have helped. Having the FMC calling her mom by her name the entire book along with not really knowing her moms story much until the very end made it hard to connect with the situation and the characters.

5. before I apologized for my opinion that the author shouldnt have been the narrator but I wont actually apologize. I felt it took away from really sinking my teeth into the characters, plot, and flow of the story. I do however think they could do it just maybe mix it up a bit with different voices or bringing in another person to help.

I have no doubt some people, especially younger audiences, will enjoy this and I am very happy for anyone who does. I will absolutely check out more work from this author in the future and would happily pay for any of her work.

Claire Goodnight has had a hard go at life. For as long as she can remember her mother Lisa has been an alcoholic who has left her mother Mimi to step in as Claire's mother. As often happens life gets in the way and Mimi passes away, Claire finds herself angry for not getting to say goodbye, and for her Mimi keeping her sickness from her. Then there is her best friend Julia who out of the blue moves farther away in California leaving Claire with no family to turn too.

The only bright spot is Finn the boy she has been in love with since he knocked her accidently off the swing in elementary school and who she felt automatically connected too on a spiritual level. Anytime she finds herself amongst dandelions she wishes for Finn to notice her and then one normal day adrift in the school hallways he does.

The first date they go one is everything she wished for, for Claire it was her first date and her first kiss and what better person for it to be with than Finn?

Finn is over the moon to finally be going out with the girlhe has had feelings for for so long. He decided one day that life was too short to not go for what you really want and Goodnight is who he really wanted.

Sometimes though things that feel to good to be true is too good. After an amazing date together the next day it seems as though Finn has ghosted Claire. At least until a wail splits through the classroom. Immedietly Claire knows in her heart something awful has happened. Finn wasn't ghosting her, he had fallen asleep and just never woke up. Just like that Claire's life truly fell into dispair.

Claire falls to pieces and her friend Tyler is there to pick her up and take care of her in a way that no one other than her Mimi has ever really done, which begins to make her see him in a different way. At least until Finn's memorial wherer something happens that she never thought possible. Claire is able to see Finn's ghost and speak with him.

They find themselves given time to explore what could have been. But with everything he can't stay forever, there are things that have to be done before he can finally move on.

I want to thank #Netgalley for the chance to read #SomewhereBetweenDandelions by #TrishaLarsonHarmon and #MelissaDrake in return for a fair and honest review.

“I will find you in another life.”

Claire hasn't had the easiest life, she goes home to the "lovely" Lisa, her Grandmother who raised her (Mimi) has passed, Claire misses Mimi and her best friend who moved away, everyday. The only thing unchanged is the crush she has had on the same boy since pre school. Finn.

Walking between the dandelions, Claire makes a wish - Even though she knows they are not real.

The next day Finn walks up to her at school and asks her on a date, Claire is ESTATIC - he picks her up on Saturday and she has the best night EVER, the best first kiss - with the only boy she has ever dreamt of - Until she wakes up Monday morning and she hears the most earth shattering words she has ever heard - Finn is dead.

Claire is broken - Something FINALLY went right, her wish finally came true - only to be ripped away. 2 weeks later the school hosts a memorial in Finn's honor and Claire cannot believe her eyes - Finn is there, she can see him - apparently she is the only one that can see him.

This book was honestly beautiful, is it about grief, YES ALOT actually - but its honestly so moving and the focus is more on the healing throughout the book for everyone. These characters felt so real. This story is about love and loss and friendship and new love and new life, second chances. It was honestly one of those books for me that I just wanted to pick up and read - and when I wasn't reading I was thinking about it.

If you were a fan of 1000 boy kisses, You've reached Sam or If he had been with me - you might enjoy this one. I am not comparing these books, they are NOT the same but they do explore similar topics.

The title intrigued me, very poetic.

The story had a slow burn for me, let me explain. It is a YA novel, so it began with the unburdened angst that you would expect. However, that ended quickly. Claire, the female main character has a seriously dysfunctional dynamic with her mother that is disheartening. She is emotionally alone which is heavy, especially for a teen. Suffering loss early is also a heavy theme for the young who tend to feel fearless and invincible. Thank goodness for the magic of the story which adds lightness and love which Claire needs.

Then, there is an unexpected twist that adds depth. At some points, I wanted more: I could've used more to describe a moment and increase the emotional quotient. For example, there were times when we were given tidbits about Claire's thoughts and feelings outside of those regarding Finn, but I wanted more which is a good thing.

Back to the slow burn. It wasn't until I neared the end, when I realized that I was not much older than Claire when I suffered a similar loss; I wondered if it would've been better to have him back or more painful. I probably would've taken any time I could get.... I realized again, for the first time in a while, that I have healed from something that defined a large part of my adult life.

Claire has many things to look forward to and many avenues of love that she didn’t realize or just recently uncovered. Her journey left her in a better place.

This was an easy read. The writing flowed and the narration and characterization felt like teens. I could see this as a movie.

It’s Claire’s senior year. She should be looking forward to college but instead she’s working in a pizza shop to pay the bills her mom can’t. Lisa, who has never paid any attention to Claire, is an alcoholic with severe depression. Claire is also mourning the death of Mimi, her grandmother, who raised her. When Finn, her crush since kindergarten, finally asks her out, it seems the Wheel of Fate has turned in Claire’s favor. Then Finn dies in his sleep - the night after their first magical date - of an unexpected brain bleed. Tyler, the manager of the pizza shop provides a shoulder to cry on and Claire begins to feel a tentative romantic connection to him. Inexplicably, after Finn’s memorial service, she begins to feel and see Finn’s spirit close to her again.

This fanciful ghost story is built on genuine emotion. The grief over the death of a loved one is intertwined with a universal wish, to have just a few more days with that special person, and how those days would be spent. Finn returns on a mission, and nothing becomes clear until the next to the last chapter and there the title ties in neatly with the plot. Overall, the writing is more than adequate. Some phrases are nearly poetic, but a few seem forced and awkward. This book will have a strong appeal to YA readers, but better editing could have made it stellar!

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley, but the opinions are my own.

A wonderful and sweet read.
If you like a good book that will make you cry then this is definitely it.
But I will say that it also left me feeling full and satisfied.
I loved everything about this book. The author has done a wonderful job with this novel.
I will never think about ghosts in the same way again. Yes, I believe in the supernatural so this was great book and it will make you think as you read it too.
Loss is hard of any kind. I agree with what Claire said about grief and missing ppl.
“Finn, you can’t stop me from hurting. That can’t be your plan for us or the reason you’re still here because that’s just not possible. And listen up— while I’m sure I’ll fall for someone one day, right now you’re the only one I want. "
I think she's saying that eventually she'll move on but that she'll always miss him.
Wow! Grief is a hard thing for sure and certain. Missing someone means that we loved hard and a lot when our loved ones were here.
I still miss my loved ones. I know they're not here but I like to think they are.
Time does have a way of healing and helping us too.
5 stars for a well written story that kept my attention all the way through.
I highly recommend.
My thanks for a copy of this book.
I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I saw a lot of people talking about this book, all of them saying how much they cried reading it. So, as I listened to a very sweet, heartbreaking story, I found myself wondering why...Don't get me wrong, this book is impeccably written, and the story is wonderfully sweet and sad; it kept me interested to the very end...but I was wondering why people were crying because the book overall, even dealing with such heavy issues, is sweet and lovely; full of what, to me, is hope even in the midst of tragedy...Well, let me tell you, as I sit in front of my PC trying to see through my tears, that now I understand! That heartbreak built up until, by the end, my face was scrunched up, cheeks streaming with both happy and devastated tears! Trisha Larson Harmon has a way of painting a picture that feels so relatable you can see the story through the lens of your own experiences. And then she shows you a picture of lives unrealized, ones that could have been, through the eyes of someone who deserved more than the life she was given, and you can feel that pain like it's physical. This is well worth a read, and I don't think I'll ever forget it. While it does have some mild steaminess, I would be very comfortable recommending this book for late teens. I think they will relate to it as much as us old broads who only remember what being one felt like.

Trisha Larson Harmon wrote a heartfelt book that had me in tears during most chapters.

Claire Goodnight had loved Finn since grade school. She finally had a date with him. Her heart shattered when two days later she is told that he passed in his sleep.

Claire had led most of her life in pain, especially since her Mimi passed. Finn was able to come back as a ghost so he could make everything “okay” with Clair and his family. His presence helped Claire to discover hidden secrets that will change her life forever.

My favorite, (most sad), sentence BROKE ME! “Maybe you hold your hands in your sleep because you used to hold hers.” Those of you that read the book understands why that sentence is heartbreaking.

Trisha thank you for writing this beautiful novel! I’m so proud to own a signed copy of this book.

Somewhere Between Dandelions

A great first novel from an author who knows her craft. The story is a touching journey of a young women discovering love and using it to conquer life and family challenges. The work and writing of the author help turn what could have been a generic teen romance into a gripping tale that readers of all ages can relate to and enjoy. If you have interest in young adult reading, science fiction, or just tales of the paranormal you will have a great time with this book and will look forward to what the author has to offer next.

**Thank you so much to the publisher and author for giving me an ARC of this book through NetGalley! These thoughts are entirely my own.**

I really enjoyed this book! The writing style at the beginning kind of annoyed me, but it got better as the book went on. The characters were super engaging, and the plot was really well done. It handled some really difficult issues in a tactful way.

I feel like the pacing was weird, though. Some of the chapter breaks felt abrupt, and some scenes felt almost too long and some I wish were longer. Also there was a really odd almost kinda sex scene? I was really weirded out by that, too.

For the most part, though, I really enjoyed the book. The characters were well developed and had awesome banter.

WOW…Somewhere Between Dandelions was beautifully written, and heartbreaking at the same time. This year alone I have read over a hundred books from seasoned and Indie authors and Trisha Larson Harmon belongs at the top! This book by far will leave a definite impact on your heart. I’ve never cried as many tears as I did reading this book and I will never look at a dandelion again without thinking about it. The characters Claire and Finn were relatable. Harmon’s words were so real and captivating between characters that once I started reading I did not put the book down until the story was finished. If you haven’t read her book already I truly encourage it 1000%

I really enjoyed this book - it was very sweet and emotional. It took me a few chapters to really get into it, but once I did, I felt like I could connect with the characters and feel their pain. I was always eager to see what would happen next, and I think the book could've been longer to explore the characters further.

The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the main character having sex with a ghost. It felt out of place and unnecessary to me. But other than that, I think it was a wonderful book and I can't wait to read more stories from this author in the future.

It's been awhile since I've read a book that made me cry. I'm a sucker for a book with a ghost and this did not disappoint. I enjoyed the journey and watching Claire's growth throughout the book. I'm glad everything came clean in the end, even though that is what totally crushed me. I wish there had been a little epilogue but at the same time, the ending was just right: bittersweet and heartwarming all at once.

Thank you to NetGalley and Trisha Larson Harmon for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

In this YA paranormal involving grief and family issues, the FMCs crush passes away after their first date and resurfaces as a friendly ghost. This book is on the more wholesome end of the spectrum and has coming-of-age and nostalgic vibes. I think it's well suited for a teen reader but could be enjoyed by adults of all ages.

This book is beautifully written and was an amazing read. The dialog was well written, though a little mature for the characters. However, it did not take away from the story and considering their ages it is easy to see how wrapped up they can be in their own love story. I would highly recommend this book to anyone considering it to read about Claire and Finn.
