We looked through about a dozen pug books and this was by far the best. It's well-written, very informative, trustworthy, and extremely detailed; every other book out there is severely lacking in one of those categories. It's also not too expensive (seven bucks at half-price books, new). Make sure to get this book *before* you get a pug, in part because you'll want its advice on selecting a breeder, but mostly because the pug is a very unique dog breed and you'll have to be prepared for all its idiosyncrasies. I love pugs and can't recommend them enough, but make sure you have help getting ready for their quirks and special needs!
