But things soon take a darker turn when one of the competitors meets an untimely demise. Jasmine knew the competition would be fierce – but could it really drive someone to murder?

Jasmine Moore and her dog, Luffy, have joined a televised competition on an island in hopes of earning enough money to help get her Private Investigator business off the ground. There are a total of twelve contestants. Various clues are spread around the island that will lead to finding the grand prize. There is a separate prize for the contestant who uncovers each clue. These prizes are completely separate from the grand prize. There are also cameras placed all around the island and tampering with a camera is grounds for immediate disqualification and eviction from the island.

Once discovered, each clue must be shared with all contestants to keep the contest on an even basis. Between the finding of the first and second clues, there is a message saying one of the contestants, Daiki, has been evicted from the island for tampering with one of the cameras. His twin brother, Takumi, denies that his brother broke any of the rules. Jaz also has her suspicions regarding the accusation after having one of her "dreams." While searching for a clue, Jasmine spots a blinking red light indicating a camera malfunction and makes an unwanted discovery. The next day, when she tries to show her discovery to one of the other contestants, her discovery has been removed.

What actually happened to Daiki? What did Jaz see that had her so concerned? Who moved the item? Can Jaz trust any of the other contestants in an effort to solve the mystery? Will Jaz and Luffy be able to solve the mystery or will she be disqualified and evicted?

This latest story has a unique plot line, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. The characters are well done and you can empathize with Jasmine's uncertainty as to who can or cannot be trusted. I am looking forward to reading more adventures in this series.

I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

The story was well-paced and kept me guessing until the end! While those are both very important to keep me hooked in a cozy mystery, I often felt that I had to suspend logical thought in order to enjoy the story.

Here are a few of the things I disliked:
1. The riddles were downright obvious, yet, the characters hemmed and hawed trying to figure them out. I'm not that great at riddles, but these felt elementary school obvious to me.
2. A few story elements didn't track for me- if there are cameras everywhere, how is Jasmine able to constantly have conversations with her dog and other characters in her room without anyone watching the show asking questions. In that same vein, is the dog actually out-loud speaking to her? Wouldn't that raise some questions on the show? I was a little taken about at the psychic/talking dog element, but if this is the 7th book in the series, there must be a readership for this element.
3. The ending felt abrupt. The whole book was building to a "who done it" moment, and then two pages out- here's your answer- the end. Most TV shows of this nature have a live show at the end for audience participation and revealing the winner. This would be a great way to wrap up all the reader and TV audience questions. I'm still a little confused about how the killer got their information.

Here are a few of the things I loved:
1. The characters are well developed! Although this is my introduction to the series, Jasmine, Luffy, and all the characters in the story feel real. I was rooting for the good guys and cringing at the villains.
2. The concept of the story was a lot of fun! How could a murder be committed in a televised, cameras everywhere environment?
3. As mentioned before, the pacing of this book worked well for me. It was a short period of time, but it felt natural in the telling of the story.

All in all, it was a fun read, and I would recommend.

Needing money to support her fledgling detective agency, Jasmine and Luffy participate in a reality game. Twelve contestants travel to a small island where they will try to solve puzzles to win each round. The winner/winners of each round receive a monetary prize, but last person standing wins the big one.

They barely begin the game when one of the contestants, a young Japanese twin, disappears and when Jasmine and Luffy find fingers sticking out of a shallow grave, they assume it is Takumi. Jasmine tells Andrew but the body disappears overnight. Did he move it or did someone overhear them talking? There are cameras everywhere, inside and outside.

After briefly trying out a couple of other partners, Jasmine teams up with Sam, a very non descript person who appears to be hiding special skills. Nobody can be that ordinary. Even his walk seems contrived to hide the gracement movement of an athlete.

These books are likely aimed at young adults, as Jasmine is very young and seems to act like a teenager. In spite of her youth, she is always highly respected for her detecting skills. In spite of this, the books are enjoyable mainly because of Luffy, who can communicate verbally with Jasmine.

Great Murder Mystery!
This is book 7 of the Jaz and Luffy series, but it would be great as a stand alone also.
I love how Jasmine is opening her new PI business, and by going to this hunt for a hidden treasure, it would help give some more attention to her business, and if she happened to win, well, the money wouldn't hurt either!
There are many turns and twists in this story, which is very different than the first books, as Jaz has no one else that she knows to back her up! No family, no local police, or her friend from the FBI. But, she does have Luffy by her side! I like how this starts off as a kool hunt for clues ... then it is a hunt for a murderer(s), but that hunt can't be seen or heard on camera, as the producers and security have forbidden it, due to them saying that Daiku was expelled due to tampering with a camera.
This was a great story! Thank you Max Parrott for another great addition to Jaz and Luffy's life in the 'never dull' state of mind!

This has to be the most interesting of the adventures of Jazzy and Luffy. The story is a mix up of Big Brother, Survivor and Murder She Wrote. Jazzy and Luffy have arrived at an island as participants in a contest being televised in real time. Jazzy is looking at the contest as a vacation but jinxes herself when talking to Luffy about being on the island. Of course, there's a murder, but is it really a murder and who is involved and what actually is happening is the question. Being sequestered and playing the contest has left Jazzy with many interesting situations. There's plenty of excitement and the story is a quick, easy and enjoyable read. All questions are answered and the story has a pleasant ending.

Six Paws Under: Psychic Sleuths and Talking Dogs (A Jaz and Luffy Cozy Mystery, #7), my seventh enjoyable mystery read from author Max Parrott. Well-written with intriguing characters and a captivating ongoing storyline that gets better with each book in the series. I read a lot of clean, cozy mystery & this series is more mystery than cozy but sometimes a book is just enjoyable and doesn't need a label. This time Jaz & Luffy are on a TV reality show, wait no spoilers here, buy the book, read & review the book. "I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." I'll definitely be reading more from this author and look forward to the next book in the series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Excitement galore! Jaz takes part in a reality show to earn money for her new business – a treasure hunt, for a month on an island, with 11 others. One is evicted for breaking a rule – or is he dead? Sophie is spoiled and wants attention, Sam is withdrawn, Daniel only wants her as a partner as long as they win … she feels she can trust two or three others – boy, what a crowd! There are problems to solve with clues and hints given (or to be found), prizes for each stage, and the competition gets heavy. As always, no sex or bad language – the characters and action are enough to make a great story.
I received an advance copy and freely leave this honest review.

A not so cozy reality!

Jasmine Moore and her dog Luffy are participants in an island reality show. If Jaz wins she will have enough money to get her PI agency off to a good start but the other contestants are just as determined to win as she is. Alliances form, power struggles take place for leadership, personalities clash like in other reality shows. This one takes a turn for the worse when Jaz begins having premonitions and she finds a buried body which then disappears.

I really enjoyed this mystery. It is fast-paced and there is plenty of good suspense. The interactions between the characters kept the story moving and interesting. I definitely want to read more in the series.

Jasmine is taking part in a television game show. They are looking for a treasure. They will be given clues to find it. Things are going well until a competitor is found murdered. Did another player do the deed? Will Jaz and Luffy solve the crime before the police do? Will they be the game winners?
The plot is well thought out and the story is well written. Come along on this fun ride Can you figure out the clues? I enjoyed this story.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.

Funnest book of the series yet! As always Jaz and Luffy never fail to keep my smiling! This installment has Jaz participating in a reality show to earn money for her business. The reality show centers around a treasure hunt where you have one month to solve the clues and win the money on an island with 11 other competitors.

Well it doesn't take long for high jinx to ensue leaving Jaz and Luffy to save the day (if the can stay alive long enough). As always I am in love with the characters and action. Great cozy series I highly recommend it.

Mystery on an island!

Jaz, along with Luffy of course, enter a contest to win money to help start her PI business. There are 11 other contestants on the island to solve the clues and win the prize, representing quite a variety of people and personalities! When Jaz discovers what she believes to be a murder, things get really serious. Who can she trust? Her visions keep predicting more trouble and there seems to be nothing she can do to prevent them. An exciting adventure and a great read!

This is a truly well written cozey mystery murder with a paranormal side to bring it to an even stronger and more intense who done it. Jaz is a new kind of PI along with a special kind of furry side kick. This time Max Parrott has them on an island reality show that starts of with an unexpected death. As expected from from this author the characters are vibrant, colorful and a few diabolical with deadly secrets leading to intense intrigue and a swirling ending you won't see coming .Acquire " Six Paws Under" today for hours of mystery entertainment.

Jasmine, accompanied her golden retriever, competes on a reality game show for a prize to jumpstart her PI business. The hunt for a prize soon turns to a hunt for a murderer. The talking dog was my favorite character. This is the first book I’ve read in the series. It read fine as a stand-alone and held my attention throughout. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.

I've never

Read any books by this author before, but I will in the future. The book was interesting and kept you guessing until the end. My only complaint was, it was so slow. It took forever to get anywhere and then took a long time to get moving again. If it was possible to squeeze the slow parts out, you would have a good book. Thank you Mad for having your books in Kindle Unlimited.

Cute cozy mystery. Even though this is the 7th book in this series, it is the first one that I have read. I received a free copy in exchange for a review of the book but that doesn’t change my opinion. I really enjoyed the interaction between Jasmine and her dog, Luffy. I think she will make a good PI. Look forward to reading more of the books in this series.

I love the characters in this book. The story is well-written and has plenty of twists to keep you guessing. The added drama of being on a reality game show while trying to win AND solve a murder heightens the fun and danger in this book. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Jaz and Luffy solve another great mystery. But this time they are on an island with cameras watching and can't let on that's what they are doing. Really a fun story. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Good

I enjoyed this book especially the dog and mystery and that Jasmine tried to look out for others. I think I take away one point because there was more potential in the story than manifested. That is common.

This is the first book of this series that I have read and I did enjoy it. Game shows always seem to have some drama. But a possible murder?? Having a talking dog as a partner was a new one for me!
