Four tales of strong women living during WWII cover the pages of this novel. I've read many stories, some true and some fictional, of the Holocaust. Never do I remember reading one set in the Warsaw Ghetto (especially during the uprising or focusing on someone in the resistance), a comfort woman in Japan, an SS officer's wife, or a nurse in the US army. These unique stories were well written and sucked me in. If you enjoy WWII historical fiction, pick this one up! Thank you Hidden Gems for the chance to read this novel.

This book follows the lives of four different women through WWII. Certainly there are some hard truths to face in our history during this time. While the book didn’t shy away from the truth, I found myself so drawn to these characters and how richly each of their stories were written.

My only complaint was how abruptly the story ended. I was left craving more and didn’t want this book to end!

A powerful story about how four women get on during the horror of world war. It follows them and how they deal with all the trials and tribulations they will face every day as they try to survive. See just how they get on

Couldn't (& didn't) put it down!

A truly creative intertwining of several "ordinary" (but anything but) women of WWII - stories of strong women in impossible (but real) situations, stories mostly forgotten a
& rarely written about. Worth your time to read!!

Highly recommend! I absolutely love this book. As an avid reader of WW2 Era Historical Fiction, I have pretty high standards of what I would consider a must-read. This simply is a MUST READ! I couldn’t put it down and have already re-read it!
