Doc Wescott’s life hasn't always been easy or smooth sailing, but as the Amato Family Head Doctor, he’s made a name for himself in both the medical community and the underground crime world. His close relationship with the Amato Boss, has given him liberties most people don’t have, and it’s allowed him to build a home and family he wouldn’t otherwise have.
When tragedy hits the Family, Doc is the first on scene, using all his skills and contacts as a doctor to do what he does best—save the lives of those who’ve given him a place to belong.
Extenuating circumstances means one of Doc’s assistants is needed elsewhere, and additional help comes in the form of the last person he ever expected, but might have always needed.
Soren Petrov Knightly always knew the Bratva wasn’t for him. Too pretty for his own good, he’s the antithesis to everything the Bratva believes in. When his uncle negotiates an opportunity for him to join the Amato Family, he doesn’t hesitate to take it. A chance to make his own way, without having to censor himself for the comfort of others, is everything he’s always wanted.
When Doc and Soren meet, their connection is instant and unexpected. As their trust grows, they discover an understanding together they never thought they'd have.
Before they can settle into their life together, the Bratva reminds Soren that no one escapes easily—not even the Pakhan’s nephew. Doc and Soren will need to fight against the Organization’s prejudice and old-school ideals if they ever hope to have forever together, or die trying.
*Doc contains morally gray characters, consensual non-monogamy, a bratty boy and his exasperated Daddy, and medical play as punishment. This is a spin-off novel in the All’s Fair universe. While this book can stand alone, reading the All’s Fair Series first will enhance the experience.*
Abrianna Denae is a queer author living in Northern California. An English major, they have always had a passion for writing. Deciding to sit down and write one of the many stories that had plagued their mind for years was the easy part—finding the time to do it was a different story. Caffeine is their best friend, and sleep is their worst enemy. A lover of books that make the reader feel something, Abrianna tries to incorporate as much of their real-world views and feelings into their stories as they can.
Taking place alongside the other books, this features Doc as MC rather than on the sidelines. His new nurse is Bratva guy Soren who is with the Amatos because just uncle is trying to protect him. Soren is gay which isn't tolerated by his father. As well as building the relationship with the very bratty and ornery Doc, we have his long term bestie James. I loved the triplets who come into it, persistently annoying their best friend Soren. This was great fun, sexy, emotional and it does get dark but not like the other books.
Doc is the head doctor for the Amato Crime family. He has a friends with benefits relationship with his bodyguard James and is a Boy to his assistant Soren who is also his Daddy. All this is intermixed with allied crime families, accidents and surgeries on the "family" and intense play with his lovers including biting, impact, blood and watersports. It's an odd relationship with Soren sharing Doc with James but still claiming Doc is his. Expect a lot of violence and "family" involvement and super hot scenes. I received a copy of this book and this is my voluntary opinion.
If you have read Abrianna’s All’s Fair series then you have met Doc. I’ve been dying for his book since All I Fear, actually I think I begged Abri lol I loved getting his story and seeing his side of things. I can’t wait for more words from Abrianna. 🖤🔥🩸🔥🖤
My favorite quote:
• “Doc wants grilled cheese though.”
James laughs. “Already working on it. Everyone is having grilled cheese and tomato soup; except Doc, of course, who will eat two sandwiches because he hates tomatoes. That okay with you, Soren?”
I might be too obsessed with mafia romances at the moment...oh well. Here's Abrianna Denae's "Doc." Its the first book in her The Amato Family series. And its apparently a spin-off series of her All's Fair universe, so here's to binging that as well.

I didn't know this was a spin-off series until I had already requested (and got) the ARC. So (its' horrible really), I was forced to read the All's Fair series (the og series). Doc got more and more page time (both prose and script) as the series went on. And he's a sassy fucker. I love that for him. In the last All's Fair book, we also got to see some of the dynamic between Doc and Soren, which was not how I originally foresaw this couple going. However, the two of them are awesome in soooo many ways.
They're so sweet and fluffy and understanding. But they also put up with each other's shit. They work together easily, in the medical setting and out of it (in the bedroom and out of it). Its as if they knew each other in a past lifetime.
I don't know what is up with all of the couples in this universe, but they're all a little...unconventional. Its glorious as fuck. Break all of those cliches and stereotypes, you psychotic little shits you.
Also, please notice that one of the pre-made trigger warnings but Abrianna or her team is "light murder." Light. Murder. Wow, that's where we are in the mafia universe. I mean, its not a lie. The murder is here was light.
I kinda need Enzo's book. Like now. I loooove that guy. I want all of the HEAs for him (you may take that one but with good intentions and dirty thoughts).
Trigger Warnings: light murder, homophobia, drugging, mentions of child abuse, and more.
Was I frustrated with one part? YES! Don't worry, I'll tell you why.
Doc is the main doctor for the Amato crime family. He's close with the boss. He's even closer with his own bodyguard, James. When the clinic crew finds itself short staffed because [reasons] - a new nurse is brought in to help. Enter Soren, straight from the Bratva.
While Doc gives major BRAT & psycho vibes, Soren gives control, DOM, and DADDY vibes. Even if he's younger and twinkier.
These two mcs dance around each other a while before deciding to take the plunge.
💙 younger daddy/older boy 💙 consensual non-monogamy 💙 mafia adjacent 💙 doctor/nurse 💙 watersports & blo od pl ay 💙 very casual mentions of major kink 💙 pain kin k & degradation & impact play
While this book was spicy, and it was fun being in a world I never visited before with a new to me author - my main issue came down to a specific situation with the mcs. I'll be vague, as to not spoil the story... but I'm gonna mention it.
Before going on their kink adventure together, the two mcs have a conversation about boundries. One mc basically states that their only real boundary is DON'T CALL ME BY MY GIVEN NAME. While the two mcs seem to be a great match, and I do think they love each other and are probably a good fit together (y'all know I'm an HEA only girlie) ... one mc REGULARLY uses the other mc's given name. Like during sex and even outside of it. Like, dude, that was the ONLY thing he asked of you.
That one part left me unable to LOVE the story as much as I wanted to. But if I put that aside, I enjoyed the hell out of DOC and this super twisty story. It was full of all sorts of kink, interesting characters, found family, mafia, bad guys, morally grey mcs, hottie bratva triplets, DADDY, and so much more.
I was intrigued by Doc since I read about him in the All's Fair series (highly recommend if you haven't read it yet). Doc was so snarky and stood his ground in the mafia world, no matter who it was. I'm so glad the author decided to share his story with us, it just made me fall more in love with him. Doc was such a snarky bratty boy (no age play), he had such a mouth on him. But he stood by what he said and was no one's push over. Everyone knew not to mess with him if they valued their life, but some still tried. Doc had his relationship with his bodyguard, James, but both knew that James could not give Doc everything he needed. Then in walks Soren, the perfect Daddy that Doc needed, someone who was willing and able to put Doc in his place but still respected and listened to him. And Doc earned every punishment given to him, lol, since he was always pushing the line, testing the waters. Loved that the relationship wasn't instantly perfect, that Doc and Soren had to work at the relationship to find the right fit for them. Especially with Doc refusing to end his "special" relationship with James, which Soren respected. It was not MMM story since James and Soren were not involved. Each had their own separate relationship with Doc, each filling a different need. The separate relationships were weaved beautifully together with the same importance, love, and respect. Neither being deemed less worthy. There was also suspense, action, betrayal, mafia drama, humor, and kinky steamy moments. And thanks to Soren, we got introduced to many more wonderful crazy characters that need their stories told.
I’ve never read a Younger Top/Older Bottom MM story before but seeing as this was my first I’d say it was a good choice. I really liked the storyline between Doc and Soren and I will definitely be reading more by Abrianna. The spice was also 🥵🥵
Our favorite snarky doctor of the Amato family gets his story. If you have met Doc, you know he needs a partner that is both his equal and able to put him in place when he goes to Doc. Soren grew up in the Russian mafia and is given a safe out to be his true self without the fear of being offed for it. Along with Soren comes a bunch of Russians who you can't help but love. Their story shows us another side of the events of ALL I SURVIVE and how these men cope with the stressful situations of being part of this family. Abrianna shows us how consensual non monogamy is a thing and that it can provide a healthy relationship for all involved parties. The love these men have is different from the Doc from the other yet still valid and beautiful. Without all three, none would be truly full filled. It is truly a work of art in the way the relationships were weaved.
A MM mafia romance with watersports and medical kink sounds like a fun type. And for those two kinks alone I stuck with this longer than I otherwise would have.
This is a spin-off of another series, which apparently we don’t need to read. And plot wise, maybe not? But there’s a lot of characters being thrown at me and I don’t know how many I should know and how many are set ups for later books.
There’s been 4 POVs so far… one is a MC from the series I don’t need to read and it honestly could have just been told from Soren’s POV. James also has POV chapters.
And why is this Russian dude named “Soren”?
And why does a mafia boss need anyone to sign a NDA? Why not just kill them or blow off their kneecaps if they talk? Not take them to court.
There’s three triplets introduced: Dimitri, Dominic and Donovan. As if three ‘D’ names wasn’t bad enough, the author instantly starts alternatively between their given names and nicknames, Dima, Nico and Vonny, respectively. I’m awful at names, so I’m not a fan of either of these things.
But, medical kink and watersports. So I persevered.
And then we get to the James POV. Since James and Doc fuck (and on page for those that mind that), Doc has James saved in his contacts as “Soulmate”, and now he has a POV, I was wondering if this was poly. But nope, James thinks of how they’ll never be a couple and that one of the reasons is that James “not being able to understand feelings”.
Instantly, I was like, author, you care to elevorate on that? But of course, that’s the end of the chapter and James POV. So being suspicious I do a word search.
“Aromantic” got a hit. Am I shocked? No. Am i disappointed? Yes.
James is aromantic. So this means he doesn’t understand feelings? That’s quite the leap. And a harmful one at that.
Instant DNF and this author goes straight on the DNR list.

I loved this story with the complex men and the complex organisations surrounding them. I loved the attempts to separate physical intimacy and feelings or love. There were a lot of complex emotions and feelings that were quite addictive. I loved being back with the Amato family. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MMM story with mature content.
Abrianna Denae hit it out of the park with this book. I fell in love with the characters and the storyline kept me captivated—fitting for the Amato universe!
Doc is the perfect brat. I adore brats and this one was written exceptionally well. He was consistent in his actions and attitude. There was also enough flexibility there that it wasn’t over the top. Soren as a Daddy is delicious. Talk about heat! Those two burned up the pages!
The kink was well thought out and written exceptionally well. The medical kink really shone in this book. There are plenty of kinks highlighted and each one brought something special to the story. They were all applicable to the characters and plot.
Speaking of characters, I love that the author doesn’t make things perfect. Whether it’s in the kink, the relationship dynamics, or family issues, Abrianna Denae focuses on the realism of those aspects. It’s refreshing to see and let me delve right into the pages.
That world building is phenomenal. The Amato Universe is complex. I loved seeing Doc get his own book outside of the main All’s Fair series (which I highly recommend that series as well). Abrianna Denae’s consistency and ability to weave in the storyline really worked.
Make sure to heed the trigger warnings on this, but if you’re looking for mafia Daddy kink with a dash of blood and a scoop of kinky fun, this is the one to read.
5 plus stars for a kinky, captivating, and steamy read!
After reading this author's All's Fair series – which kind of made me uncomfortable but I still loved the books – I wasn't quite sure what to expect with Doc. Heed the content warnings; they are part of the blurb so I'm not going to repeat them here.
This book ended up being much milder than I expected. While there was some violence there wasn't nearly as much as in the All's Fair series. Doc and Soren are perfectly suited for each other as their kinks pretty much match up. I think this is the first 'daddy' book that I've read where the daddy is much younger than the boy. The age gap wasn't beat to death which I appreciated. I also liked James, who is Doc's best friend/f*ck buddy. Even though they don't have a romantic relationship the love they have for each other really comes through in this story.
I love how protective the Amato family is to all of the people they consider part of their family and inner circle. The next book is about Enzo, who was injured badly in the All's Fair series. I'm looking forward to reading it; he really deserves to get a happy ever after.
While you can probably enjoy The Amato Family series on its own, I think you will understand the characters and enjoy it more if you take the time to read the All's Fair series first.
An advanced copy of this book was provided to me at my request; my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
Doc works as head doctor for the Amato family and is in need of a new assistant after an accident leaves his assistant needing to help one of the family full time. Cristian (the boss) brings in Soren, who is from the Bratva family but doesn’t quite fit in with them, having to hide being gay and that he was never much of a ‘manly’ man.
The two have an instant connection but Soren resists due to Doc being his boss but Soren can see that the bratty Doc needs a firm hand and lots of care that the Daddy in him yearns to take Doc for his own.
When they end up kissing, all walls seem to come down - especially given that Doc doesn’t kiss anyone. They start to build a gorgeous dynamic, Doc never having had a Daddy before. Though Soren has to make room in their relationship for James, Doc’s bodyguard and best friend/friends with benefits which he is unwilling to give up.
This story had such great dynamics, interesting story, a dash of several kīnks and I really enjoyed reading this!
While this does slot into another series, I haven’t read any of them and didn’t find myself lost or like I was missing anything vital for this story. So if this sounds like a bit of you, jump in and read it!

Doc, an Italian mafia doctor, and all around chaos brat meets his match in Soren, a nurse from the Russian mafia. Doc may be older and larger, but pocket-sized younger Soren has no issues making his boy submit to Daddy!
This book was intriguing, dramatic, and full of excellent shmink! Top tier, creative shmink! Oof 🔥🔥! There is also lovely consensual nonmonogamy and aromantic rep with side characters!
Doc is book 1 of the Amarto Family Series, a spin off of the All’s Fair series! And let me tell you, after meeting all the characters and see all the dynamics- I can’t wait to read it for myself! I was so intrigued by the characters!

Doc (The Amato Family Book 1) by Abrianna Denae ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
This book tells the story of Doc Wescotts, a mafia head doctor, as well as a “regular” doctor. Doc has found his home in the crime world, thanks to the Amato family. We also meet Soren Petrov Knightly, nephew of the head of the Bratva. Thanks to an opportunity negotiated by his uncle, Soren has a chance to have a life where he doesn't have to hide himself, just for the comfort of others. He finally can be who he always wanted to be. Through the story we see the chemistry and connection Doc and Soren have. We also see how together Doc and Soren have to go against the Organization’s old-school ideas, if they ever hope to have a future together. I really enjoyed Doc, this was such a well written story. Everything from the plot, to its characters was so perfectly crafted, that it caught the reader's attention from beginning to end.
Doc is the first book of The Amato Family Series by Abrianna Denae, this is also a spin-off novel in the All’s Fair universe. Doc can be read as a stand alone, but it's recommended to read the All’s Fair Series, first to enhance the experience.
🖤 Younger Daddy/ Older Boy 🖤 Morally Gray 🖤 Doctor / Nurse 🖤 Mafia Adjacent 🖤 Consensual Non-Monogamy
I won a copy of this book in a giveaway. I was not required to provide a review but do so happily.
Even if I hadn’t won a copy, this would have been on my tbr as I enjoyed the All’s Fair series from which this is a sin-off. This book slides seamlessly into the AF world. There are several appearances from characters in AF but they are generally minor and it would be strange for them not to be around given that this book is based in the same universe. The book overlaps certain events from the All I Survive (book 3 of All’s Fair) but this time the focus is on Doc and Soren. The pair have to navigate their way through a working relationship as well as a romantic one whilst dealing with questionable families (the DNA type) and all that comes with being part of the Amato Family (the capital F type). I liked the inclusion of James and how he wasn’t pushed aside but also didn’t take away from the MCs. As for the triplets, I can see them bringing their own brand of trouble to one or more books in the future.
I think this book would work as a standalone but because I have read AF it’s hard to say for sure.
I loved the All’s Fair Series and looked forward to each story. Doc is the start of a spin off series that includes the characters I love. Doc has been a member of the Amato family for years. He is a unique personality. He has a big heart but an abrasive exterior. He has been in sort of a friends with benefits with James but both men know the other isn’t that magic one. Soren grew up in the Russian mafia. His father is a harsh antigay man. Soren knew he couldn’t safely stay so with his uncle’s help he became a member of the Amato family and his and doc’s introduction was an instant attraction minute. The path these two take to their unusual relationship is page turning. The secondary characters play a big part in this story. I really can’t wait for the triplets story. This story could be read without reading the previous series but it makes the characters more familiar if the previous is read.
Another great addition to the Amato world. I truly love this family in all their dark and crazy glory. Doc isn’t nearly as dark and twisted as the All’s fair series, while it still takes place in the same world and around the mafia Family, there’s a difference in this one. Doc and Soren both come from that world but their brand of kink is more standard, sane, safe and consensual, with safe words and everything. I was so excited to read Doc’s story after reading All I survive and getting glimpses of Doc and Soren’s relationship. I love the bratty boy and Daddy Dom vibes of this story and loved a lot of the kinks shown. Their journey is a beautiful exploration of kink together while dealing with the fallout of the mafia life and the Bratva that Soren comes from. Lots of sweet and tender moments and some blood and gore to stay on pace with a mafia book. Well written and showing so many of the characters we love from the Amato family.
Thank you Abrianna Denae for this ARC. This review is entirely my own.
This was my first book from this author and it will not be my last. The characters were were well written, the story told wonderfully and I loved the kink.
The chemistry between the two main characters was fiery. The side characters added to the story and didn't take away from the MCs. The only thing I wasn't a fan of. One of the kinks, while it was a TW, came out of no where and there was no discussion of it between the MCs. It just happened and then there was a small discussion about it after. I didn't like there was no talk between them before it happened. It's such a big thing when introducing new kinks between two people and to just do it was off putting.
Other than that, this was such a good read and I am excited to read more from this author.
Thank you for the ARC, I voluntarily give it an honest review. The TR Warning a bit funny as how do you have light murder!?! Here let me lightly stubby stub a bit of a nick here and nick there..haha. because that fit Doc so great. Working for Doc was a challenge that Soren will rise to after all the man was breathtaking, even in his bouts of fussing, And Soren was just the man to take that brat under control. James maybe the guard but he was the softer of the two but was all three men find their happy point.
I have been waiting for Doc to have his story as well as few others. Thank you, Abrianna for doing him justice. Because the storyline fit and flawed so well within the series as a spin-off. Oh the wreckage all over again with Enzo. Oh hope we get the triplets story, loved them.. who am I kidding all the characters need their stories told.
I have no issue with MMM but I just couldn’t settle into this one for some reason. Something always felt a little off balance with it. James just feels like an unnecessary third wheel. Maybe that’s why it felt off, the author just could never figure out the right way to insert him into the dynamic. It probably didn’t help that the author constantly needed to defend and explain the relationship between the 3 men to the reader via internal monologues. Like James is in the middle of rearranging Doc insides and now is when he wants to wax poetic internally about their dynamic, really, or Doc being in the middle of a punishment and thinks about it, just odd. Still an okay read for the most part.
Oh Doc, you did not disappoint. I absolutely love your snarkiness & was finally able to get a lot more of it 🤣 Thank you Soren for loving him anyway and putting him in his place when he needs it in the most creative, thoughtful & loving ways possible 💙 I love their relationship soooo much. And much love to Soren for not only accepting James' role in Docs' life but loving him too. Abri does an amazing job showing us the beauty of polyamory. Learning all about Doc's past was a heartbreaking but needed journey. I love Mama, she needs to visit more 🤗 And the Trips are here 😍 As always this is another must read. I can't wait for Enzo. 💙
"It’d be so easy to kiss him, to let him use that tongue on me. I wonder if his cock is getting as hard as mine is. I don’t take the opportunity in front of me for many reasons. One of those being that I don’t kiss. Anyone."
Would you like to guess what MC doing 35 pages later....?
DNF @34% This book should’ve been my kind of read—on paper, it checked all my boxes—but the execution was so off I couldn’t keep pushing “just one more page.” It relied heavily on telling instead of showing, and that made everything feel flat and unearned. It had so many flaws and inconsistencies, I have no mental power left to start listing them, because so much of it simply didn’t make sense.
I love Doc,Soren and James.Doc his a hard man to work with, he his the head physician for the Amato family. Doc needed a new assistant after one of the bodyguards got hurt and Doc ordered his assistant to look after him at his house with other people helping out and looking after the bodyguard. The boss told Doc that he would need a new assistant and that he had a plan. Doc and James had a deal there relationship is non exist. James gets whatever Doc needs. Soren takes care of Doc and loves him
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I have read the previous series and was hoping for Doc's book. I was not disappointed. Doc may be a very tough, take charge Mafia doctor, but what his sweet, bratty little heart craves is a Daddy to help him. Soren is part of the Bratva, and homopobia is rampant. It's hard for him to be true to himself. When he goes to work for Doc, he's immediately smitten and knows Doc is his bratty boy. James as a bestie was wonderful, and the inclusion of him to Soren and Doc's relationship was perfect.
This book is everything I had hoped it would be and more. It was so intriguing to get a peek into Doc and James unorthodox relationship and adding Soren was the icing on the cake. I love how spirited Doc is, and Soren was exactly what he needed to put him in his place and deliver the dominance he was looking for. There were a few nail-biting moments, but we got our HEA. I was practically frothing at the mouth with anticipation for Doc's Book and Bri delivered. I'm super excited for more.
A fun book with daddy kink (younger dddy/older boy). A spicy book I really liked the storyline between Doc and Soren and I will definitely be reading more by Abrianna. I liked it even though consensual non monogamy is not usually my thing.Abrianna shows us how consensual non monogamy is a thing and that it can provide a healthy relationship for all involved parties. This story could be read without reading the previous series but I would recomand it for better context.
We met Doc in the Amato family series and got to fall in love with his sassy mouth. Lol. He is a mess but do not mess with him. He meets Soren, which becomes his nurse and his Daddy. Soren is what he needs to help keep him grounded.
Doc also has a relationship with his bodyguard James and Doc is not willing to give him up. This is a totally consensual relationship and it is NOT MMM
Another good book from Abri. Can’t wait for the next
