Intersecting with Victoria Jacob, his view of life and the people in it shifts. Can he overcome his fear of love to propel his budding romance into something deeper? Victoria and Saint navigate the world together through the eyes of a high-functioning autistic man and his fiery wife who’d set fire to rain if it meant ensuring his comfort.

“Saint…
Exceedingly gentle on the eyes.
Perpetually tender in spirit.
A monster when needed.”

What an absolutely beautiful masterpiece this was! I meeeeaaaan a whole experience! This entire book was the breath of fresh air I didn’t know I needed!

I want to say that this is my second possibly third book where the MMC had autism and the way the author developed his character despite his diagnosis was so well written. The level of vulnerability and uniqueness we received while simultaneously giving masculine energy that oozed protector and provider was a sight to behold.

Saint is the second oldest of 4 Miller children and everybody’s favorite! His parents have always known he was special however, out of fear of him being labeled in a certain manner, his mother never allowed him to be diagnosed as a child by a doctor. Instead, their family nurtured his strengths and protected his weaknesses. As a result Saint grew up to be such an amazing man but he always felt that he didn’t belong. Academically he was a genius however socially he was a round peg in a square hole.

After working a job with his big brother, Saint crossed paths with his Beauty, Victoria. Victoria was a well known fashion designer and after going against her intuition, found herself in a situation Jesus himself couldn’t get her out of. Saint was in the right place at the right time and it’s because of him that Victoria is spared. Now forced to enter an arrangement that protects them both, neither of them could have imagined the all consuming love they would develop for each other.

The love was break dancing and pop lock and dropping off these pages!! The way Victoria fiercely protected Saint and the way Saint opened his heart to Tori had me feeling all the feels! These two made space for each other and created a bubble where no one existed outside of them. Tori was not playing about her husband and Saint was not playing about his wife! The visuals are always a vibe when authors add them to stories and I loved the visuals in this book!

I had no idea what to expect going into this read but to say I was blown away would be an understatement! Bravo Rae, Bravo!

4.5⭐️ Let's talk about it. This book was really great. Authors that write about autism make me nervous because I never know where their stories will lead. In Saint's instance, it does provide some complexity and individuality to the character. Being the genius that he is, Saint has no idea what he may be diagnosed with and with this new discovery, he meets Victoria while on a mission with his brother. In order to safeguard themselves, they enter into a marriage agreement. Everyone knows a good force proximity leads to love. The way Victoria welcomed and cared for Saint is really adorable. The way that Victoria did not play about Saint. Willing to protect Saint from anyone. Saint was willing to protect and care for his "Beauty" despite the fact that this was unfamiliar territory for him. Regarding the threat that Victoria faced, I would have preferred it if there had been more action. Victorias friends were just...meh. I didnt care for them.

Okay, I kinda knew what I was getting into with this read, but then again, I didn't. Still swooning! Who knew Saint would be a total a sweetheart? 😍 Born to a loving family, well cared for, and highly intelligent. However, he just felt different, knew he was different, and really didn't understand it. He made his way through life dealing with his "quirks" the best way he knew how and learned how to adapt. He sought out his own answers as an adult, as he needed to know and understand himself better. Upon a positive diagnosis, he felt free, as now everything made sense and he could move better with purpose. On a mission with his brother, he stumbles upon a beauty, who changes his whole perspective on life.

Victoria was a boss in every sense of the word. She was taking the fashion world by storm and forging her destiny. I believe that focus allowed her to have blinders on in other areas of her life. Now Javier rubbed me wrong right from the beginning. 👀 Girl, when your gut is screaming at you like that listen, and don't give a damn what your friends say! Your intuition is there for your safety and protection! She dodged a bullet in one respect, but now she is put into another situation where she is not sure what to do. Accept Saint's protection, or wing it on her own?

Although this was new territory for Saint, I loved how he did all he could to protect and care for Tori. He didn't know where this would take them, but he enjoyed her presence, as she calmed him and gave him the feeling of comfort he had never experienced before. Miss Tori was all in with Saint, and anybody could get it, his momma included! She was not going to let anyone talk down to, or disrespect Saint if she had a say in it. Their relationship was adorable. 💕 Things progressed really fast between the two, however, they fell into a deep love full of respect, support, and admiration. New author to me and will definitely be checking out more of her catalog. Great work!👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Loving beyond arrangement

“If they’re anything like you, they’d be absolutely perfect," was the perfect sentiment for Saint. He was diagnosed with autism as an adult, which stifled his ability to understand or fully cope with the differences that came with that diagnosis in his childhood. However, he was beautifully different. He had learned how to live independently, working as a Marine Biologist his mind was brilliant. Beyond his family he didn't have meaningful relationships, and even with his family he was not his full self. He chose to isolate himself to avoid the social awkwardness he felt around people, along with avoiding noise triggers. He was content with the ocean, his isolation, and had no thoughts of love or family until Victoria accidentally crossed his path.

Tori was a fashion designer with a popular couture and ready to wear collection. She was such a boss babe and I loved how she didn't bite her tongue and was so protective about Saint. Despite their meeting being untraditional, she couldn't deny her attraction to him. I love that she was open minded and embraced his quirks. My favorite parts were when she stood up for him against his family and her friends. She was 10 toes behind her man and I loved it.

I have been loving the arranged marriage trope and this one didn't disappoint. I appreciated the care that was taken in sharing the autistic point of view. The world is filled with people of all abilities and everyone is deserving of love. The author did a beautiful job articulating that.

I started and finished this book within a couple hours. I absolutely LOVEDDDDDD this. Saint and Tori?! ugh she was not playing about that man at all. it’s rare that you see the fmc going hard for their lovers b/c it’s normally the mmc’s. chile victoria wasn’t gone take no wooden nickels about her man even from his family or her close friends. I loved it here. Rae’s a new to me author but i’m for sure gonna read more of her catalog 🫶🏽

This book starts off kind of slow but it gave the HEA I wanted. This couple was too cute to me and I love an arranged marriage turned real. I also love when a disability is displayed and they are loved unconditionally. I hate that Saint thought that Tori wanted the money when she was really in love with him like he was her.

Listen, find y’all another man on the spectrum to play with because Saint Tyrone Miller will never be the one, or the damn two.

What the hell did Rae Anderson put in this book?! I need her to answer this question immediately or I’m contacting the authorities. This book…… what do the young people say? This book ATE DOWN!

Saint, a brilliant, thalassophile who finds love unexpectedly in a vibrant, fiery, fashion designer.

Sparks fly, as well as bullets.

Love happens.

The in between is a beautifully written story laced with passionate MCs who defy scrutiny of naysayers and love out loud despite their differences. Saint being on the spectrum made the storyline more robust; showcasing the struggles and prejudices that autistic people experience just to exist in a society that does not fully accept nor care to understand them. This was such an endearing tale.

Looking forward to reading more by Rae Anderson. Brava!

Sweet love

Victoria and Saint's love was beautiful to watch from beginning to end. Ready to read about the other siblings.

Plot: 4.0 - The story did get shifty with the father's double cross and the friendship spat; but it came together nicely.

Character Development: 4.0- There was little about Victoria's background, so at times her character was confusing.

Book Flow: 4.5

Overall: 4

Beauty come back to your Beast

neurodivergent MMC: Here are my "quirks"

FMC: Okay. I got you boo. I embrace you

Me: 🥰🥲

It hits so different, and it's so satisfying seeing someone make space for someone who isn't used to it. Here, we have a unique, almost lyrical love story between Saint and Victoria. The tropes are so beautifully woven into the story that it's hard to distinguish, which was used except one that was clear: Beauty and the Beast. Victoria is lovingly referred to by Saint almost from the very start. Victoria decided to finally be to a dude she was talking to a chance ends up on the beautiful Indonesian beaches. Her dude ends up getting, and Saint is left to pick up the pieces. Was it love at first tortoise for him? Possibly. Saint wanted this Beauty all to himself, and he was willing to bribe her to get it. What do we have next? A fake marriage story, a criminal empire, an MMC with autism and a recipe for a coconut and vanilla infused treat.

Saint & Victoria

This story was beautiful.. From Saint never believing that he would have love to meeting the woman who would love him unconditionally, fiercely, protectively. Tori was a firecracker and so in tune with her own self. I've read many books with a strong FMC but Tori was just different. Kinda inspiring. She was compassionate, understanding, thoughtful, kind, confident, bold... the list goes on.

There were a few parts in the storyline that that I wish there was more of, but overall, I loved it! 4.5 Stars

Saint was not what I imagined him to be. On one hand he was stone cold murdered but then on the next hand he was very attentive and caring for Victoria and that was before he even knew her for real. I will admit there were times where I had to remind myself that this was a fictional story because the way Victoria so easily agreed to what Saint proposed i said there is no way that would happen in real life although he did make it a hard offer to refuse.

Once they started to spend more time together and feelings started to form it was cute how they fell into a rhythm in a sense as if they were a couple for awhile. When Victoria learned that he was Autistic she was in full support more and I loved how she didn't play about him whether friends or his family, she let them know they could not disrespect him and that's how we knew she really loved him.

They had some rocky points in there but I was happy that Supreme talked to Saint and he went back and made up for how he reacted to what he was feeling instead of running away altogether. Overall I enjoyed the story and I will be reading more of the author's work.

This book gave me something that I didn't know that I needed. Saint was just that...A Saint. Starting this book, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. After a few chapters I was hooked. Tori was just what he needed, and he was just what she needed. There wasn't a lot of back and forth it just was what it was. I like a book that is straight forward. I wouldn't be opposed to a story of the brothers and the sister.

My NEW FAVOURITE BOOK, I’m such a sucker for romance disability tropes but can never find a novel that isn’t filled with stereotypes or bias’s . This book was anything but that , Saint had so much personality that it was hard not to fall in love with him. Victoria is such a sweetie along with so much patience and understanding for Saint. Everything about this book was perfection in my eyes ,CANT WAIT TO RE-READ THIS GEM IN THE FUTURE!!!!

Book Review: “Saint” by Rae Anderson

Rae Anderson's “Saint” is a compelling romance novel that brilliantly combines the tropes of forced proximity and marriage of convenience into a thrilling and emotional journey. The story unfolds with Saint, the male protagonist, committing a crime witnessed by Victoria, the female lead. Faced with a dire choice between silencing her permanently or marrying her to prevent her testimony, Saint opts for the latter, setting the stage for an unpredictable and intricate relationship.

The novel excels in its exploration of neurodivergence, particularly through Saint's character. Saint is portrayed with a raw and honest demeanor, grappling with his recent autism diagnosis and the societal perceptions that accompany it. Anderson skillfully depicts his inner turmoil and journey towards self-acceptance, adding depth and authenticity to his character.

Victoria, on the other hand, is a powerhouse of affirmation and protection. Her character is not just a mere counterpart to Saint; she is a successful, strong-willed individual who becomes his staunchest ally and protector. Her fierce protectiveness and successful demeanor make her an endearing heroine who complements Saint’s protective instincts, creating a dynamic and chemistry-rich partnership.

The couple: Saint and Victoria

Romance trope: character with autism; arranged marriage (sort of)
Series: The Miller Family
Length: 305 pages

Plot: Victoria, known as Tori to her friends, finally agrees to a vacation with her new casual boyfriend(ish). She's not feeling very confident about this vacation, a feeling that is confirmed when she sees someone kill her boyfriend. That someone is Saint, who promptly takes her back with him, not knowing what to do with a witness but not wanting to kill her. His solution? Marry him. What follows is a progression of understanding and exploration that promises to make them both into new people.

Commentary: Yes, more of this please! I loved this story, for both of them. Saint was - well, incredibly hot, yes. The scenes where Tori describes him getting out of the pool? Fire. But there was also something so vulnerable about Saint. You could tell he had adjusted to the world around him as much as he could. Others aren't as good at adjusting in return - not until Tori. She was so fierce in both her understanding and her protection. Absolutely nobody was going to say one word out of line about her man.
The only thing I didn't like about the book was sometimes the prose felt a bit purple - almost Austen-esque. It was very formal and stylized. The dialogue was spot on - it was definitely a conversation - but some of the exposition was a little overblown (in my opinion). But I did love the story and will definitely read more about the other siblings.

Next book in the series: Supreme: To Sadie, with Love

I’ve been in a reading slump for so long and I think this book got me out of it. It was such a cute read

My main thing is I feel like Victoria ignored the important ppl in her life (her friends and parents) bc she got into a relationship. I honestly feel like it was less about them being in a “shame” marriage and more about her just wanting to be under him.

Idk I feel like she could’ve kept their marriage a secret and him private without ignoring her family. Her parents saying “is this why we haven’t heard from you in 7 months” threw me off and I was like yeah sis was off that D cause ain’t no way

But aside from that I loved the pace of this book, I loved how they loved each other. It was such an easy read like there was very very minimal drama which I loved.

Also I’m not one for 3rd act breakup but I liked how this was done. Especially when she was like he’s so in love with me he can’t face me LIKE LMAOAOAO YESSSSS. Cause she knew his little breakup speech wasn’t nothing fr. Ugh I love them I wasn’t expecting to love this book this much ngl

10/10 Absolutely would recommend!

I absolutely love love LOVED this book! The author did a phenomenal job of telling the story while also providing outside knowledge. In the book the MMC is autistic and the author did not just state that as a fact she went as far as to have the characters explain what that meant and provide some attributes that are common with the condition to provide readers with a better understanding of what the character was experiencing. All of the details in the book showed the author took some time to do some research to provide depth to both the characters and the world they are living in. One thing I loved about the book is how Tori didn’t initially know why Saint acted the way he did but she accepted him the way he was and didn’t draw unnecessary attention to it. Once he revealed some insight on how his mind worked their relationship flourished even further. I also love how Tori defended her man even when they still hadn’t fully accepted what they meant to each other.

so good

This was a good time. Saint and Victoria were made for each other! I loved now Victoria was so patient with Saint and all her actions came from a place of understanding Saint and not trying to make him something he is not. Saint too was accommodating to Victoria at first although he may have been uncomfortable which shows how kind hearted he is. This was a real love story. The only thing that inked me was the 3rd act breakup, I found it unnecessary and it could've been resolved with an actual conversation! Other than that this was a really good read with fully fletched main characters, proper development and a good storyline that dives into the nuances of neurodivergence and just plain love. Reading the way in which these two just kept on falling for each other was fun.

I'm enamored

THIS is already one of my favorite books of 2024!
Saint is a highly intelligent, ex- military sniper who is also on the autism spectrum.
Victoria is a fashion designer with a penchant for speaking her mind.
A series of events lead to a marriage of convenience for these seemingly polar opposites. Over time she learns in intricacies and he embraces her bold nature.
It has some dramatic, but I love how the story focuses on these characters and how they map out their feelings despite their differences.
Saint gave BDE, and didn't play about his wife and Victoria didn't take no mess about her husband...not even from his family!!!
I absolutely loved this, and can't wait to read more from this author!

"Saint" by Rae Anderson was a total breath of fresh air. I saw it recommended on a post about Autism Awareness books, and I'm so glad I picked it up.

The book does a fantastic job of realistically portraying someone with Autism. It was refreshing to see how autism can manifest differently in people, and how some receive diagnoses later in life. I also like how she addresses masking throughout the storyline and showcases Saint's battle with masking his autism to fit in socially.

While the story starts a bit slow, things really heat up once Saint meets Victoria. She's incredibly supportive and fiercely protective of Saint. Anyone who dares to mess with him gets an earful from her – and I loved every minute of it. I also liked the dialogue and challenges Victoria faced with friends. It showcased how even the best of friends face disputes and disagreements.

Overall, "Saint" is a heartwarming and insightful read. Highly recommend.
