Astrid’s forgotten past was within her reach. Robin’s greatest mission is to protect a princess who doesn’t belong. They’ll have to reconcile in order to keep peace within the Fae Realm.
Astrid went to sleep after her father’s death in Ireland and woke up in New York City. She’s never felt she belonged in her new life, but her family refused to speak about “before”. High school graduation brings her freedom, and with it, the chance to return to Ireland and try to put together the pieces she can’t remember. Until an actual unicorn appears in her kitchen and she has no desire to remember anything.
Ronin would give his life for the king, but masquerading as a human to protect his daughter is almost too much. Astrid isn’t safe in their realm thanks to her human blood, and Ronin wants to keep her far from the Realm. Until he realizes Astrid may not be entirely human after all, but part unicorn after all. The more time he spends with her, the more he wishes she would choose him and her life in their realm.
Astrid cannot sent her attraction to Ronin, but she doesn’t belong with the unicorns anymore than she did with the humans. When the lies of the past put Astrid in danger, she has to trust Ronin to protect her. Ronin can’t decide if the best place for Astrid is in his realm or hers. He just knows he wants to be by her side, even if it means losing part of himself or herself to make their connection work.
Lexi Ostrow has been in love with the written word since second grade when her librarian started a writing club. Born in sunny southern California she's spent time in various places across the country and can't wait to settle down somewhere in the French Quarter when she's able too.
Lexi has been a writer ever since the second grade in some form or another. Getting her degree in creative writing and her master's in journalism she couldn't wait to get a chance to put her fantasies down on paper. Her debut novel, Torn Between Two Worlds is something that was simmering in her mind since middle school and she's so grateful to put it out into the literary world. From paranormal romance to thriller there isn't a genre she doesn't love to spend her time reading or writing.
Reading and writing are her first loves but her passion for shopping, love for yummy food and her love for all her many pets. She hopes to one day help other readers fall in love with writing as she did.
Lexi Ostrow has weaved a fairytale that starts off in the wilds of New York, to the beauty of Ireland to the enchanting Fae Realm. She's very descriptive in her writing so the stage is easily set. I liked the characters, Astrid is full of curiosity and wants an adventure and her grumpy bodyguard Ronin isn't so bad. He has a playful side which I didn't expect. This was a slow burn, with Astrid and Ronin circling each other, falling for each other without realizing it right away, or should I say in denial at first but they make a nice pair.
There are loads of supernatural creatures in this book but the story focuses on unicorn shifters. In my opinion, there aren't nearly stories that focus on unicorns (in this age range, haha) so I'm happy to get a story that centers on them. It has a unique feel. Especially since unlike in other stories they are unicorns first and humans second, it gives off a different vibe and I like it. There's unrest in the fae realm so of course there's a villain and his perspective is given. The way Ostrow wove him into the story is good, the saying "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions " fits this guy to a tee.
The story was entertaining but there were some parts that confused me and the main conflict was a little anticlimactic, I expected something slightly different. Even so, overall I enjoyed Between Realms, it was a good read.
This is a captivating blend of romance and fantasy that kept me hooked until the very end. Despite its brevity, the story delivers a richly layered narrative with well-developed characters and an engaging plot.
The dynamic between Ronin and Astrid drew me in with their undeniable chemistry and the tension of their relationship. The skillful navigation of their complex emotions left me rooting for them to work out.
The world-building and character development are noteworthy, a fantastical realm filled with action and intrigue. However, there are moments where the story's pacing falters, particularly during transitions between scenes, and I had to backtrack for clarity.
Overall, "Between Realms" is a compelling read that will appeal to romance and fantasy fans alike. Ostrow's talent for crafting captivating narratives shines through in this enthralling tale.
✨I was honored to receive an ebook as a gift from the author✨
For a short book there was a lot packed into it and leaves you hanging! It had you routing for Ronin and As...despite the back and forth between them. It was an interesting take on the fae world. There was a couple of times that I felt where the story shifted to a different part wasn't done as well as it did through out most of the book and I had to got back and reread to see if I missed something.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this book and I think that it is the first I have read where there have been unicorns! The storyline and the character development were well writrren and there was a lot of action packed into it even though it was on the shorter side. There were a couple of instances where I felt as though I had missed something when reading, which was a little frustrating, but apart from that Between Relams was a solid book that I would recommend.
This wonderful book will draw you in immediately and you will not want to leave. You really feel like you are in Ireland and the land of Fae. Aztrid and Ronin bring to life what love really looks like regardless of when or what you are born as. I was on the edge of my seat through most of it waiting to see if they would finally realize where their hearts lie. I loved the ending and am interested to see if there will be any offshoots from this book in the future.
A cozy romantasy read tied in with learning of one’s family history. It’s crazy what can happen when your past may not be what it seems, and there is more to who you are. Astrid finds this out when she returns to her home roots of Ireland, and gets probably a little more than she bargained for.

This one is as hard to put down. I was hooked from the first page to the last. Astrid and Ronin have great chemistry and I love their interactions. Throw in a lot of action and fae and this is a story you won’t forget.
This was a fun book! When your hot stalker bodyguard turns out to be your ultimate childhood fantasy with an Irish twist you tell him who’s boss. Slow burn, spice is on the lighter side, hot but sweet. And they live happy ever after!
I have always been interested in the Irish folklore, and this story does not disappoint. The trials and challenges that Astrid faces while learning about her father, she thought was dead, and the start of an impossible love keeps you on the edge and is kept through the whole story.
Unicorn shifters! Squeee! This is romantasy at its very best. Action, adventure and a hot unicorn shifter add in a bit of family drama and political upheaval sit back with a hot cuppa and enjoy.
Going home can be life-changing Regardless of one’s age or circumstances, finding out about ancestors, living relatives, and family lore can be exciting. And unicorns are an added bonus!
I would be scared, though, to be told upon arrival in a new-to-me country ‘Don’t touch the faeries’.
