Sadly, this wasn’t a book I thought it would be. I’m more of a *spicy* reader and thought this would be more along the line of the Devil kidnapping her and she had to decide what to do. But it was more of a light romance/ religion book.

The potential was there. I felt if a little more effort was given, it would’ve been an amazing book. But it felt rushed, choppy, and not proofread. The dialog was abnormal and didn’t flow naturally. Also, as I’ve said, the plot wasn’t what I was hoping it was.

Where I thought her human love wouldn’t be what she needed and she fell in love with the Devil, this was a complete opposite. The book immediately opens with grief and takes up a quarter of the book before things start to change. I felt so bad for her but as the book progressed, I realized she needed support and being young, she needed to learn important life lessons. The story deals with a love of important trigger warnings (death, suicide, pregnancy loss) so it felt heavier than a normal book. Also, when it comes to paranormal romances, the bad guy tends to win more often than the ones who’s supposed to be good. Here, the angel can get through to her and the demon is faced with new problems.

Even though the title is Dancing With the Devil, the Devil himself doesn’t really make an appearance. It’s mainly the angle and demon with talk about the bigger guys. God and the Devil are only talked about. Granted, gives the title a little more of a wow factor, it feels a little misleading.

All in all, this would’ve been a much better book if more time and effort was put into it. The plot had potential, but I don’t things Sparrow had enough support to push her to make it better. The plot is also different than what I expected. I hoped it wouldn’t been a little *spicier* but it’s been so long where the supposedly good guys win the war. If I’m honest, I wouldn’t recommend this to many people. It didn’t read like a normal story and didn’t flow naturally. Maybe with a little more editing, it’ll be much better, and I’ll like it just a little more.

I was offered the chance to read this through voracious readers, and I'm so glad I did.
It's a slow burn paranormal romance, where the MFC has to deal with loss and grief, most of her life, first her mother when very young, then her fiance and baby, she makes a deal with a demon to change this, only to meet her guardian angel, and find out that she is loved, and kind hearted. She mends relationships along the way, falls in love again only to lose it, but gets the promise of seeing them again.
It was well written, the world building was really well thought out, I have to give the spice 🌶 there is some but only a little, this is the first I've read by Eva Sparrow, so not sure if all her books are slow burners, in saying that I can't wait to see. This is not my typical troupe I go after, but I totally enjoyed it none the less. It is in two parts. The first will have you grabbing the tissues and not letting them go, Eva really let's you feel Lizzie emotions. It is written from two points, present and past memories. It's like you lost Henry as well. The second will have you laughing and crying till the end, where the demons deal falls flat.
Trigger warnings:
Grief of loss
Suicide
Attempted suicide
Loss of parents
Miscarriage
Depression

Emotional journey

This book we meet Elizabeth who is struggling and trying to deal with the loss of her fiance. She wants to make a deal with the devil to change her life. But instead meets her guardian angel and to have a second chance at love again.

This book is not exactly what I thought it was going to be. It is beautifully written and I truly enjoyed this book. It was a tear-jerker, your heart will break, but there are moments where you will laugh and cheer for Elizabeth.

I received an ARC copy from Voracious Readers Only, and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review for the author.

I received an advance copy of this book from Voracious Reader.

Although it deals with hard topics that we all face during our life time, it gave insight and true views of grief, loss, and choices that are faced within such times.

The Demon and Angel perspective allowed for the reader to see each perspective of how to face travesty and heartache. The paranormal aspect was a good way to relate to both sides of grief.

This book follows Elizabeth as she makes a deal with the devil to never have met her fiancé after he is killed. She then has to deal with a stalker who turns out to be her guardian angel. Very good book. I would recommend.

4 stars for this book.

This was the first book that I have read by Eva Sparrow. Can I just say this book was a roller coaster of emotion.

Elizabeth, the main character does go through some heavy stuff. I did like the fact she did change her way of thinking.

**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**

A tear-jerker which you can’t help but read on.

The book follows Elizabeth’s journey as she struggles with overcoming her grief following the death of her fiancé, where a situation involving the epitome of Hell and Heaven themselves, leads to Liz hoping for a second chance with love.

Beautifully written with fantastical elements, I throughly enjoyed this read! Your heart will break, laugh and cheer for Liz, all the while getting to know some intriguing supporting characters (*cough* *cough* Nicholas), in which I can’t wait to find out more about their stories!

Looking forward to reading what happens next with Liz!
