A runaway bride. A grumpy 600-year-old vampire pretending to be human. A disaster waiting to happen.
What could possibly be the most infuriating thing to a vampire disgusted by the internet? A twenty-six-year-old social media influencer that just ran out on her cheating ex fiance and insists on staying in Vlad’s quiet castle.
But he needs money to repair his ancestral home, and Audrey needs a place to lick her wounds after getting her heart broken.
He is ready to have humans invading his space. He is not, however, ready for her.

We meet Aubrey who was cheated on by her fiancé just a while before her wedding and who instead of sticking around decides to go to Romania at a castle/hotel.
While on the other side we meet Vlad and his best friend Doyle who is being talked into opening his castle up into a hotel as they can make a fortune, Vlad is NOT happy and is literally a skeleton at this point as he has no fed in a long long time and he refuses to entertain the idea until he is convinced.
Vlad aka Vlad Tepesh aka Dracula has been around for 600 years and has no desire to be in contact with humans so imagine his surprise when Aubrey shows up and he is smitten beyond belief.
He cannot help how he feels towards her and is enamored with everything she does. Though he cannot help being a grumpy asshole to her all the time which she confronts him on constantly.
The banter in this book was really funny and I enjoyed everyone’s interactions.
Vlad and Aubrey start up their love affair really early into meeting each other so this is an insta-love situation and not at all a slow burn. She is conflicted about everything as her ex is still trying to win her back, but he is a douche, and she refuses to entertain the idea.
Vlad tries everything under the sun (literally) to make her never find out he is a vampire, we also find out that Frank Stein (Frankenstein) and Jekyll exist in this world and are his ''friends''.
Sadly, he is unable to hold his secret for long and Aubrey finds out he is a vampire. Things are a bit complicated with a human knowing the truth, but Vlad believes within all reason she is his mate, and she belongs with him but needs her to choose.
A little bit of drama occurs, and we get a small separation of a week, but they find their way back to each other and at the end it's revealed she will live forever by his side.
I liked the premise of the book, and the execution was great BUT it was a bit too long? I think it could have been shorter and still great.
Doyle's book is next, and we know he is 300 years old saved by Vlad and is a werewolf. I wonder who his love interest is...I think it's either the chef or Aubrey's best friend!
I have a feeling we will get Jekyll’s book too and Hilda’s who left with him at the end of the book. (Hilda is the one who is older than Vlad, raised him and has been living in the castle for ages as a skeleton and refuses to speak).
Your Coffin Or Mine is not meant to be taken seriously. It's a little (well . . . a lot) ridiculous, the FMC can be immature, and there’s more than a few cringy words/moments. But it’s a decent book if you’re in a silly-goofy paranormal rom-com mood. So go into it with zero expectations and just have fun.
WHAT TO EXPECT: ✨ monster rom-com ✨ vampires, werewolves, and other creatures ✨ he’s an ancient vampire (Dracula) who reluctantly opens his castle as a hotel ✨ she’s a human social media influencer fresh off a breakup who stays at his castle ✨ grumpy x sunshine ✨ bad first impression ✨ dislike to love ✨ fighting feelings ✨ he hates everyone but her ✨ 3/5 🌶️ ✨ fated mates ✨ Romanian castle setting ✨ HEA
The cover is amazing, the writing is great, the characters are also really good. This book could have been so good, but…
I just can’t help being offended by each page I read. European accent doesn’t exist. Europe is a continent that contains 44 countries. We all have different language, culture and traditions.
FMC is served raw meat and first thing she says “it’s European”, like you can’t get badly made steak in the states. We do not eat cows as they walk.
“You have that whole European thing going for you.” Again, what does that mean?
Oh and let’s not forget the “You’re the one who told me to get the hot European dong in the first place!” Just stop it.
Since the whole book is set in Romania, I would expect all the characters be Romanian, unless it’s stated otherwise. So far we have Doyle, who’s by the way lovely character. Clarissa and Frank aka Frankenstein. Nothing screams more Romanian than these.
Also the whole “Dracula” was a bit butchered. If you decide to use this character, it could have been done with more accuracy.
I’ll end this review by saying that if the author did more research, which makes me question her editor, alpha and beta readers. It could have been 5 stars.
"And seriously, I have high standards. No werewolves or monsters need apply. Vampires are definitely the alpha species."
Your Coffin or Mine was absolutely unhinged levels of ridiculous from start to finish, but in such a fun way. The story is incredibly silly, the characters make questionable choices left and right, and there's definitely some insta-love, but if you love cheesy paranormal rom-coms as much as I do, it totally works. I thought Vlad and Aubrey were adorable together and I'm definitely excited to read Doyle's book next!
The wholesome, good vibes, smutty, hilarious book I never knew I needed 🥰
This was such a FUN book with great characters I loved getting to know.
The banter between Vlad and Doyle, (ancient besties), had me cackling. Vlad is the very definition of grumpy sunshine and is every bit the dashing, oblivious, adorable oh so swooon worthy hot vampire of dreams. The way he is beautifully written and the castle, in and out, exquisitely articulated, I felt like I was walking through the halls of the ancient castle myself.
He is broody but so dang sweet, I was captivated by his almost innocent like qualities while still threatening to unalive everyone in his way 😂
The one liners in this are priceless, the way the FMC really grows into her own, and the outside snowy landscape described hallmark perfect - took me on a feel good ride I loved.
And definitely smutty delicious! Daddy Drac can make me his good girl and handle my curves any day!
I’m excited to know more about other characters from this book too! Looking forward to more epic stories from this author!
The story starts off way too lusty for my taste, and the MMC—who is supposed to be an ancient vampire named Dracula—feels completely off. For someone who hasn't interacted with humans for over 200 years, he seems oddly modern, with no real struggle adapting to technology or society. It made the premise feel unconvincing, and I just couldn’t connect with the story. Not for me!
When I say I didn’t stop laughing from the first to the last moment of this book I’m not even joking.
Vlad the delicious grumpy vampire meeting the bubbly Aubrey gave me life.. and special mention to Doyle too because I cannot wait for his book now!!
The entire premise of Vlad not only having to come to terms with sharing his castle with Aubrey and her skimpy vests, but being dragged into the modern day because of what he’d discovered about her.. and seeing his delicious grumpy alpha spicy side come out. 🥵
Oh my gosh I’ve not laughed this hard in ages. This book had everything I want from a rom com and often find lacking. It had the funny, but it also had the spice!! So often I feel like one is sacrificed for the other, but I didn’t find that here at all!!
i wanted to like this SO much, but it fell flat for me in so many ways 🙃
now i know this is a debut and i don’t want to shit on the author, because honestly the writing was good! the execution was just so off.
starting with Vlad…..i wanted to read this because a celibate vampire who hasn’t seen boobs in 200 years is so up my alley but he came off so fucking creepy. when he first saw Aubrey(? i forgot her name already) the only thing he did was look at her boobs and tell her to put her nipples away. him and doyle (the werewolf best friend) talked about how they couldn’t stop looking at her boobs and that’s not hot…that’s fucking weird.
another thing that was so small but i don’t know if it’s because im an islander and have been subjected to the “your food is so weird” thing growing up, but Vlad woke up early and spent THREE HOURS grinding ingredients to make her breakfast (which was blood sausage) and when he asked her to try it she TOLD HIM it looks like someone shit on a plate or something like that. now keep in mind he hasn’t cooked in like hundreds of years and he was trying to be nice and makeup for leering at her tits and she was just so rude. she’s in a different country and she just comes off as so fucking entitled and it really ruined her for me.
because i got an arc of this i didn’t want to dnf and i tried for days to push through but i was fed up at around 47% when a guest came to stay at the castle and of course she was flirting with Vlad and wearing heels and blonde so Audrey got jealous and called her a skinny blonde bimbo and then goes on to say that she is well on her way to being a size 10 by the end of the trip like that’s a bad thing. as someone who IS above a size 10 that lowkey hurt my feelings 😂😅 she made it seem like she was going to be a swamp creature 🙃
all in all, this just wasn’t for me. it wasn’t terrible but i won’t read it again. 🤷🏻♀️🫣

Poor Vlad, all skin and bones gets news that his friend wants to open up his castle and make it a hotel. He's annoyed until Aubrey came early knocking on their door shes on vacation after her ex cheated on her. He's still grump, but he's curious and interested in the human. There banter is cute it's a slow banter. And he's making sure she is comfortable in his hotel. I'm getting info on how to make it better even if he doesn't care. Mostly cares about her. Like this man ate GARLIC to please her lol. I laughed at that scene. And I love the friendship between Vlad and Doyle even if Doyle did a few things wrong. I'm not a huge fan of Frank. 😒😒😒 I understood trying to save his friend, and I know he's getting a story. Hopefully, maybe in book 2. We see him differently.
The spice was there it was delicious, but I wish it was spicier. But that's me, lol.
Now, onto book 2!! Let's see how Doyle handles his girl.

Vlad “The Impaler,” aka Dracula, is being forced to turn his gothic castle into a boujee hotel, and he is absolutely pissed about it. 😂
Aubrey is a recently single, wanna-be social media influencer who books a spontaneous trip to Romania to escape her problems for a while. She’s also his very first guest.
It’s a super goofy and fluffy story where Vlad is irritated by her and the hotel business, but yet can’t seem to stay away from her.
My favorite parts of the book were how the author brought Dracula and Frankenstein to life in modern times and all of the funny lines about how annoyed Vlad is by humans, technology, and cell phones. The vampire sunscreen invention and garlic debacle were super funny too. And I giggled every time Vlad would get annoyed with Aubrey and call her “wench.”
It’s also surprisingly spicy! There were tons of spicy scenes, and it started pretty early in the story too. It’s definitely NOT a slow burn.
The entire thing was so cute and hilarious, and the vibes were awesome too 😍
This book really knew what it was and delivered.
I’d recommend this to anyone who is obsessed with vampire books and loves spicy, fluffy romance. I could imagine you’d really enjoy it!
Now I’m praying there will be more fluffy vampire books like this one coming out soon, because I just blew through most of them 😬
I was waiting for this book to get better, but it never did. The MMC is a misogynistic asshole. FYI, there is a difference between a grumpy MC and a straight-up POS. He is incredibly creepy and he only stops being a misogynistic asshole to the FMC when he starts seeing her as a potential fuck buddy. The FMC is annoying. The world building is terrible. Doyle is a shit friend.
This was an almost perfect blend of all the good stuffs like comic banter, swoon-worthy romance and steamy spice ... This was a hilarious take on the historical figure, Vlad and his castle that is being renovated to be turned to a hotel ala Hotel Transylvania. Problem is Vlad is least bit interested in this development, but his best friend Connor Doyle, pushes him to do so. Enter Aubrey, our runaway bride. Vlad and Aubrey start off with a bang and clash at every turn. All that sizzles into lust when Vlad falls in love with Aubrey's boobs lol .. Can't blame the man, he hasn't had any interaction with the female anatomy in hundreds of years.
Vlad is a total grump, who hasn't been in the modern age for quite some time! So he despises humans and everything they do to the nth degree. Aubrey is sweet.. They make a perfect couple. Doyle and Bernadette are the kind of best friends everyone needs!
The interactions between Vlad and Doyle were witty ..
" Not sure if you've noticed, Doyle, but our female problems, if you could call them that, are vastly different." He chuckles, yet his nose crinkles with spite. " Oh, they're alike in the ways that matter, old friend. They're both trying to kill us - you with garlic and affection, me with diabetes and hate." "You're joking," I scoff. "If only I were."
The spicy scenes were giving, the bad guys of the story were not so bad, and everything got wrapped up quite nicely.
“here I thought this shit only happens in romance novels with Duskwalkers or blue aliens that have dicks down to their knees.”
Your Coffin or Mine is a quirky, paranormal grumpy-sunshine romance that’s more cute chaos than creepy romance. A runaway bride hiding out in a castle with a touchy, 600-year-old vampire? It’s fun, it’s ridiculous, and the banter definitely delivers.
There are definitely sweet moments. Vlad has his romantic side when he isn’t acting like the world’s grouchiest antique 💀, but their relationship heats up fast. Sometimes it felt more pushy than swoony, and the story drags longer than it needs to. 🙄 Still, the playful vibe, spicy tension, and Halloween-romcom energy make it a light, entertaining read.
Not a favorite, but not a regret. I’d maybe continue the series… just not right away. 👀

things to know about the book ↓

I only got to page 43. I rarely DNF but this was... So bad.
I won't say the writing is bad exactly but the characters were awful.
The FL is a complete bimbo (advertised as sunshine character but no, she's a bimbo), she mentioned she wasn't dumb but honestly... she really seems it. She also thinks it's perfectly okay to go around a 'hotels' public spaces in PJ's that are see through, because she's on holiday and doesn't want to wear her clothes from the day before... Who does that? And thinks it's okay to do? 🤦🏻♀️
The MMC (grump character) is a creep. Staring at her boobs and outright telling her to cover up, while still obnoxiously staring! Then instantly starts bossing her around, getting angry at her and possessive when they've known each other hours... Do people seriously think that's attractive? 😅
I cringed my way up to this point but I just couldn't read anymore.
Part of me doesn't want to admit to reading this. But I did. I read it in one day and it was as predictable as you could imagine. But the writing... oh man, the writing.
I'll post some direct quotes and they'll help you make up your mind on if you like it, hate it, or want to read it like a B-movie and share the most outrageous phrasings with your friends.
The Quotes: "...my downstairs pops up for attention like it's urging him to play Whac-A-Mole with his dick."
"Like my dress, my bra seemingly unclasps itself and falls to the floor, and he becomes motionless, staring at my breasts like they’re Starbucks and he’s a thirsty millennial."
"...a legit growl rumbles out of him..."
"I'm so wet, it's like I'm a slip and slide for his dick."
“Do you not know how stunning you are? Look at me.” His fingers nudge at my chin, tilting my face to look up into his red eyes. “You are magnificent. And you are done hiding.”
4.5 / 5 stars for this adorably cute paranormal rom com! I'd give it a 4/5 spice level, not because it was super spicy, I just enjoyed the scenes that much.
Vlad the Impaler Tenev aka Dracula, was the. best. character. for this book. I absolutely fell in love with him and his character arc was so well done for this premise. He is a 500 year old Vampire who doesn't realize the times of telling women what they can and can't wear have definitely changed. As a reader at first I was like "ugh he is such an ass" but as the story moved on he grew and became the sweetest most lovable character.
“Aubrey?” Vlad says. My face heats and I paste on a fake smile. “Yeah?” “I would very much like to know what you are thinking right now.”
The authors note at the beginning of the book did list a few TW's and for me they were easy ones but definitely worth mentioning, and Hyde mentioned not to take this book too seriously... Which I actually commend the author for doing that because it put me in the mindset to just have fun. Which I absolutely 100% did. I read this book in two days once I actually picked it up and gave the time to read. I would say Your Coffin or Mine fully got me out of a mini reading slump. It was fun, Halloween-y vibes, Vampires, and other unique characters.
Aubrey is a social media influencer with curves and a big personality. I normally really dislike when current media is used within a book, especially as a job. It pulls me out of the story too much. BUT, I fucking loved Aubrey so much. I loved her story, I loved seeing her stick up for herself with her Ex. Her adaptability, quirkiness, and REALISTIC insecurities made me very much relate to her. Even when it came to her confrontation she was still nice and chose not to put another woman down.
No one deserves to be talked to that way. I just can’t imagine what it would feel like to be that nasty to people. She must be miserable.
I thought the way her body image of herself and how it was depicted was not directly written down but shown in her unspoken words. Vlad picked up on it immediately and did nothing but reassure her. It truly made me fall for them as a couple. I'm such a character driven reader!
The two MC's had some of the most enjoyable banter that I've read in a while. I thought some aspects did come off a little superficially, but again... don't expect this book to be a literary masterpiece. Its not meant for the reading connoisseurs of the keyboard warriors. (FTR read whatever the hell you want, I don't know why this would ever be an argument. I thought we left the banning books mentality back in 2003.)
She points to her face with her gaze dull. “My eyes are up here, you know.” “I’m well aware of where they are.”
I truly loved this book and when I tell you Vlad had the perfect dialog in the spicy moments, I was sweating. It was so so good. Was it super k!nky? no. not at all. but I absolutely ate it up.
Overall this book was FUN it was adorable, a sweet romance, had other characters that I'm excited to see if they get a book. I can see myself re reading this around spooky season. Vlad is just a winning MMC and I adored Aubrey so much.
“What do you want?” She gasps when I nibble lightly at her neck, watching her skin shiver in response. “I desire you to want me as much as I want you, to crave me the way I crave you. I want your heart, your touch, for as long as you will have me.”
Loooook If you want a grumpy vampire that has a weakness for nips and eating 🐈 you need a daddy drac in your life.
This book had me in a hold..
It's swoony, spicy, imaginative, a fresh take on the normal "monsters" and will have you howling like Doyal at the one liners in this fluff fest of just goodness.
And Aubrey... an influencer who left her cheating ex behind was perfect for Vlad and she didn't care of his grumpiness but she likes his pee pee alot and we are so glad she does!
Ugh, I didn't want it to end, and I need more... like now...
ARC reader here. Guys I cant . I absolutely loved this book. The characters are well written and so much fun. It’s multi POV and it just makes it so much better. I really enjoyed how much more you experienced with the characters.
Who knew I needed a Dracula comedy, but I sure as heck did. If you love vampires you NEED to read this. It’s a perfect fun read and you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait for the next characters book!
Some things didn’t hit right for me, but as it’s not a story meant to be taken seriously I just overlooked it. I think I would’ve liked it more if it had a slower burn.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next one.
This would have been a DNF for me if it wasn't for special circumstances. I just couldn't be into it.

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: The concept here is excellent. I love the idea of this ancient and all-powerful vampire brought to his knees by a sunshiney social media influencer.
The execution? Not great.
I'm reading now that it was her first book, and I think it showed. The plot, the dialogue, the characters - everything felt scattered. I was using a lot of context clues to find out details I should have been given from the start. I never really got into either character - Vlad was rude and mean, pretty much unless he was alone with Aubrey. And Aubrey really didn't redeem herself or Vlad's preconceived notions at all.
I get what the author was trying to do, and I'm sad it didn't work for me. In the end there was just too much hot and cold, and not enough to string each plot point together.
This book was absolutely ridiculous and so much fun. I loved the insta lust and insta hate, I loved the banter and the chemistry. This book was so well written. I enjoyed how Vlad had to learn how society works now and that Aubrey went along with his shenanigans. My only complaint is it could have been 50 pages shorter, some bits dragged.
I loved it! This book was so freaking cute. This has been on my TBR for a while and I wish I would have read it sooner. I can’t wait for the next one!!
I'm about 60% through the novel and I cannot take anymore. I wanted to push through since I received an arc, but I honestly cannot get the energy to finish it, and it's put me in a bit of a reading slump. The premise of this novel was so promising-- paranormal romcom? As an avid lover of both genres, I feel that my high expectations are the cause for the disappointment that I feel.
My first red flag-- insta love. I'm not a huge fan of this, I personally like to learn about the characters and watch their relationship grow, but there was none of that here. I also disliked their initial meeting: he stares at her boobs for an awkward amount of time (harped on) and tells her to put her nipples away?? How does that make me want to like the mmc? Is it supposed to make him endearing? Because I just feels creeped/grossed out.
It also feels as if the author is trying to prove that the characters are supposed to end up together-- from both povs they're constantly thinking about how the other person is so attractive and sexy, girl I GET IT
I'm also unsure of what kind of plot the author is trying to curate? So far it's just Vlad trying to keep his vampirism a secret and Aubrey has fuckboy ex-fiance issues, but the scenes aren't fleshed out well and it feels like we're just wiping issues away. It's very fluffy styled, which isn't to my taste for the most part. Don't get me wrong-- I eat up romcom cheesyness, but this just felt cringey and awkward for the most part.
Aubrey also calls multiple things 'Eurpoean' when it's set in Romania, which I find kind of icky. How does Vlad have a ‘European accent’ when he's lived in Romania his whole life and was the inspiration for Dracula? What is a ‘European accent’?
Another thing I didn't enjoy was the queer side character. I honestly can't even remember his name, but I feel that the character is very stereotypical. His character is basically drooling over the men, making innuendos and sexual jokes about said men (and the couple), and trying to bring the couple closer (as if they need it?).
I found most interactions to be cringy also. There's a scene where Aubrey makes spaghetti with (gasp) garlic!! which he cannot have because he's a vampire!! So they get a epi pen for vampires, which I thought was actually pretty funny, but the execution was lackluster. Basically it gave him a bunch of adrenaline and he had to chill out in solitude so he didn't attack anyone. Why not just tell her you're allergic?
If I had bought this book I don't think I would've tried to read so much of it, honestly would have dnf'd with the nipple police scene. I was going to give it two stars because maybe the end gets better? But with what I've seen so far, I cannot.

This book was recommended by the lovely Opal Reyne so I definitely needed to give this a read! I want to call it cute, but it isn't just cute. This is a super spicy monster (vampire) romance.
Vlad and Doyle, a vampire and a werewolf, decide to open a hotel in their ancient Transylvanian castle and Aubrey is their first guest. She walked in on her fiancee having relations with two people, and packed up and decided to take herself on a trip to not the beach.
The book follows Aubrey and Vlad as their relationship blossoms and lust turns into love. This is set beautifully up for a sequel with Doyle as the lead!
