Davina Spenser is shocked when her dying father reveals that he is actually Maceo James, the brilliant painter who went into hiding decades ago after being accused of murder. Determined to clear her father's name and protect his legacy, she decides to take his paintings away from Hardy Enterprises, the company they were entrusted to. But she soon finds that staying one step ahead of new CEO Justin Hardy will challenge not only everything she trusted, but her deepest desires. Justin Hardy knows he has inherited a corporation in financial trouble, and now some woman is making crazy claims that Hardy Enterprises holds the late Maceo James's valuable paintings as well as his share of the company. To save its reputation amid escalating intrigue, he has to ferret out the truth in Davina's accusations. But he is growing more and more attracted to her unyielding courage and hidden vulnerabilities. With the stakes dangerously high amid a life and death struggle, Davina and Justin must risk everything on the still-fragile bond between them--one that could bring disaster and heartache...or inspire picture perfect love.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. Although to be perfectly honest there were times that the story just dragged on.
I love that it wasn't the typical boy meets girl, girl hates boy but eventually they fall in love cookie cutter recipe that most Arabesque novels follow. This book has more substance. It is filled with mystery, suspense and raw emotions. The character's struggles to trust each other amidst all the suspicious activities surrounding their relationship is well written. Her only mistake is beating the mystery around the bush a little too much for too long. But if you can get past all that and hold on till the end it's worth it.
Baby, Justin and Davina, your FOREVERMORE is calling. I love this story of love. Ms. Harrison, you created characters with so much depth and complexity that I could not stop rooting for them. Justin and Davina had to have a scare put into them before their trust for one another could manifest wholly and completely. Then there's David and Natalie, a new love that is no longer smoldering from afar. Finally, family is forever and the Hardy clan shows us true family. Thank you for this Ms. Shirley.
