As much as I love second chance romance, I was a little annoyed by how long Nox and Gabby were apart. Eight years is a long time to be away from your mate, but I loved seeing how both Nox and Gabby were unable to fully let the other go. It took some manipulation to get these two actually talking to each other, but their reconciliation was such a beautiful scene filled with regret, longing, and deep love. I wished we could have seen Nox go into feral protective mode and fulfill his guardian duty, but overall I really enjoyed this story of love conquering all🖤

Tropes: childhood friends-to-lovers, second chance romance, obsessed hero, heroine-in-danger, forced proximity, only one bed, miscommunication, 'it's always been you' vibes, long separation, steamy🔥

This started strong with a little background to give context to Nox and Gaby's relationship, however I hate to say that the motivations and actions of both characters when they wete reunited didn't work for me. It didn't make sense to treat their mate bond as a secret when she knew about shifters. And there was no need to see Gaby in "reporter" mode to figure out their relationship.

I'm sure other people will like and love this so do give it a try.

De novo, não!

Mais um livro dessa série que não tem nada a ver com a série. A autora resolveu conectar essa história com uma outra série - dela mesmo - e ignorou o que deveria tem em comum com os outros livros dessa série aqui. A forma como se deu a ligação deles e de como Nox marcou Gabby como sua foi totalmente diferente dos outros livros. As regras do mundo shifter também são outras aqui. Ou seja, a autora fez o que quis e que se dane o que foi falado do personagem dela nos livros anteriores.

E como assim Nox cresceu como órfão, adotado por outra família? A trama da série é justamente sobre os irmãos Guardians (e o primo deles), e como eles são unidos. Como assim esse irmão cresceu longe da família? O que houve? Nunca foi explicado isso. Parece que a autora pegou um personagem que ela já tinha e deu um jeito de encaixar aqui só pra dizer que fazia parte dessa série. Achei uma total falta de respeito com quem pegou o livro pra ler acreditando seria parte da série Grizzly Guardians (que, aliás, está indicada na capa), mas que na real não tem nada a ver e faz parte de outra série. Me senti enganada, confesso. E repito: me incomoda demais essa falta de coerência entre as histórias da série Grizzly Guardians. Tudo o que foi falado sobre os irmãos no livro 1 e suas funções dentro da empresa da família foi ignorado quando chegou nos seus respectivos livros. Pra que colocar elementos que deveriam ser comuns, se depois cada um vai fazer o que quer? Socorro!

E sobre a história em si, eu não gostei da Gabby. Ela pensou só nela - e tudo bem, afinal ela tinha sonhos e achei válido ela correr atrás deles. O que me incomodou foi pintar tudo como se ela tivesse feito isso pelo bem de Nox, pensando nele, enquanto que na verdade ela estava pensando nela. Se estivesse mesmo pensando nele, teria, no mínimo, conversado com ele sobre os seus planos. Afinal, os dois estavam num relacionamento. Ela foi super fria e depois ficou de choro lá por uma situação que ela escolheu. Sofreu foi pouco. Devia ter sofrido mais pra reconquistar o Nox. Está aí um casal que eu não queria que terminasse juntos. Ela não fez nenhum bem pra ele. E nem a parte do perigo que Gabby corria deu em alguma coisa. Achei que teria, pelo menos, um pouco de movimento nessa história com o vilão, mas não. Outra decepção. Tô até com receio de ler os outros livros e ver que mudanças de enredo fizeram por lá. Deus me ajude!

I really enjoyed reading this story. I liked that it is a continuation of the Grizzly Mtn Shifters series, but also more. I liked that it brought in a few people to tie the series together. So much unnecessary heartache, because of things never said. Finally those things were said, and they found their home.

Book 5 -Nox

I suggest reading this series from book one. This book was.just as good as the others. She left for college not knowing anything about his animal, fated mates or how deep their feelings for each other were. Once she found out about all that (investigative journalist) and he explained it all, they got their HEA.

Nox ah nox you always were a charismatic boy and now you’re all growly and grown up. Thought it was cruel that gabby came into your life early and then made the decision to leave you. Author was smart and waited till the time was right and glad that you’ve both grown and gotten smarter. My only disappointment was not knowing who had children in those years.
