Entin Soroy was the fastest market Runner in the City of Creannan. Now he's a Dungeon Runner. The only problem is, dungeons are high-risk, mysterious places that adventurers are wary of adventuring.
But who needs a party, anyway? All of the loot—the money, the items, the . . . junk—is just sitting there, waiting to be nabbed by someone skilled enough and fast enough to escape.
Of course, dungeoneering without killing mobs introduces an all-new set of challenges, challenges Entin finds potentially insurmountable given his lack of time.
The orphanage is struggling. Food prices continue to rise, casting more people to the streets to beg for copper chyps. If Entin can't make Dungeon Running work, he might have to return to market Running. . . .
Or maybe there's another way, a way that doesn't depend on adventurers who are playing it safe as to not risk their gear.
Dungeon Runner 2 is nearly twice as long as the first episode. It's full of fun, new characters, dungeons, challenges, and more. It is time for Entin to step up and make Dungeon Running work. The question, though, is whether or not he can succeed when everything is on the line.
(This book is currently only available from the author's website.)
Dungeon Runner 2 is decent, and strange at the same time. It's almost like the author was trying to tell two stories at the same time, and just kept weaving the real story among the weird one that just kept cropping up like a bad penny. I really could have done without the strange version of this story. I personally think the book would have been a whole lot better if the author had spent his time telling that story, instead of trying to make the story funny. For the most part, the stuff that was supposed to be funny just wound up being stupid, and made me really not want to finish this book. I'm not sure if I'll read the next book in this series, but leaning heavily toward not. I really would like to find out what happens to the portal, the conspiracy they uncovered at the end of the book, and even watch them beat more dungeons, though even that was getting rather silly by the end of the story. To each their own I guess, but for what it's worth, I really didn't like this book very much.
Business is Booming TL;DR - 4.5/5 (Rounded Up) Dungeon Runner is driven by the characters. It's still free.
The interaction between the characters is the force that gives the story so much heart. There's little to no fighting, good interaction, character motivation, and relationships that you start to care about. The length of the work is part of what hinders it though.
At nearly twice as long as DR1, DR2 is written like an episode of your favorite anime. Like your favorite anime though, some parts just don't feel like they're enough to get your fill, and just like an anime, some of the mystery is given away after the credits of the episode roll. There are guides at the end that delve into the development of the world and give insight into why things were set up the way they were with some of the developer names being VERY familiar.
Overall, the story is building up steam, the characters are growing, and there is more if you liked the first. However, I have a fair number of questions I'm hoping get answered here soon.
While I do enjoy these little episodes, it's less than100 pages. A good chunk of the page count goes towards a sneak peak at the author's actual book. Also a very good read. Wouldn't be so bad if there was a place to read the episodes online so we aren't stuck waiting for the author to publish on Amazon. I also found one mistake.
4/10 due to lack of length and the mistake. I like the stories that the author writes, but I want to sink into them and really blow a day away just immersed.
I enjoyed the first episode, it did a good job of setting up the backstory, characters, etc. This episode we see some more action, are introduced to some new characters and see a little bit from their perspective too. I'm hooked now and am looking forward to the next episode.
I loved book one. Book two is just as good. It's longer, but doesn't seem it, really, as it reads so fast and easy. I enjoyed the additional characters and the changes in point of view, to see how everything came together. Well-written and fun. 😎 I'm looking forward to the next installment.
Another interesting take on the dungeon litrpg books. It was a good form of progression but I still feel very much like an outsider with so little detail of what happened before, who the characters are and where to go. I wish the book was a little longer to give more depth to the characters but am interested to see where it goes.
I don't like that there is no real chance of the characters leveling up. I agree with Gabe, the System makes it too difficult for the characters to advance and grow. With that being said, I have enjoyed the story so far. Keep up the good work.🤗
The web serial turned book that was volume 1 was a great read both as it came out and in book format with the additional sections. Book 2 is a fantastic continuation and leaves me wanting the next book!
I had the privilege of getting an advanced copy but still did not finish it until now. I loved it, especially the bonus dungeon. Anyone would love to go through that. We even got a prison break and two budding romances. I can't wait until the final book.
Entin has his work cut out for him. He needs to expand his business, keep the orphans sheltered and get his new guild running optimally. Great second book to the series.
