Not a fan of calling the Ark of the Covenant “God‘s special box.“ Also think it would’ve been good to note that the reason Jericho would be destroyed is not just because God was choosing to give the Israelites the land instead, but because God was using the Israelites to judge the wickedness of the Canaaanites. Both kiddos picked up on people falling off the walls of Jericho in the illustrations, and that’s pretty traumatic to portray with any accompanying written explanation.

This is a classic story and an important one to teach to children.
