It is 1944 and the Nazis have invaded Britain. Deep in the Welsh mountains, a group of women wake to find their husbands have vanished; they have taken to the hills to join the resistance. Meanwhile, a patrol of German soldiers enters their isolated valley. Owen Sheers' moving novel 'Resistance' tells the story of the women, their relationship with the occupying force and the hard decisions they must make. In the autumn of 2010, the film adaptation of Sheers' novel was shot in Wales starring Andrea Riseborough (Brighton Rock, W.E.), Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon), Tom Wlaschiha, Iwan Rheon and Sharon Morgan. The journalist and writer Carl Wilkinson was given exclusive access to the cast and crew on location and 'Set Pieces' tells the behind-the-scenes story of the making of 'Resistance'.
