Midnight pleasure reminded me of a dirty version of the Wedding Planner movie. Prince Dale and Wedding Planner Emily fall in love while she is in the process of planning his wedding to Hannah. I am someone who doesn't love the FMC/MMC cheating in my romance book, but the plot to this book intrigued me!

Emily (FMC) is a strong, confident, independent woman. Who makes it known that she doesn't want to get married or be committed to anyone. But all that falls apart when she meets Dale and spends time with him.

Dale obviously grew up with a privileged life (hello he is a freaking prince!) and happily goes along with his arranged married to his friend Hannah. It's what his family wants. Naturally all of his willingness to marry Hannah disappears when he meets Emily.

While there wasn't a romantic aspect to Dale & Hannah's relationship, some parts of the story felt like cheating to me since they were technically set to be married. I think that was more so mind thinking "Hey sir you are engaged to Hannah you can't be doing these things with Emily!" but also my mind was saying "Get it Miss Emily!!!" so I definitely had some conflicting feelings. This might be my first and last cheating trope book It was just a weird point for my brain to wrap around, because the spice was spicing between these two but it also felt so wrong to cheer on!

If you are like me and love to try and guess how the book and/or plot line is going to go then you'll like how this book keeps you on your toes. I had a fun time trying to figure out how things would play out; it's not what you are expecting. I was pleasantly surprised, I'll have to reread this book to see if I missed any Easter eggs or foreshadowing early on in the book.

I am super thankful I got to be an ARC reader for this book, it was a roller coaster of emotions for me as a reader. Something new and intriguing!

I don't like the writing and the MMC. And the FMC. Can't see them as 30yo (M) and 28 yo grown ups. He's supposed to be royalty and she has her own company, be more mature?

What can I say about Midnight Pleasure? NOT GOOD THINGS.

In this little romance book, we’re met with Emily as she plans a wedding for Prince Dale and Princess Hannah. Little do we know Emily and Dale are going to homewreck! I had no clue what I was going to be incasing myself in because reviews were just so mixed and all over the place.

Some notable tropes you get as a reader are:
They both fall first but he falls harder (mmmmh homewrecking!!)
Forced Proximity (she’s his WEDDING PLANNER)
Fast burn (guess the homewrecking will do that to a romance)
Forbidden romance (did I mention she’s his WEDDING PLANNER???)

If you like infidelity and cinnamon, you’ll LOVE this read.

First off, I love a modern royal romance. I especially love when it has layer after layer of personal character stories. Pair that with open spice and you have a great book to tell everyone to purchase.

Claudia C. Adotey won me over with her book, Midnight Pleasure. Emily Wilson and Prince Dale Miller, the main characters in the book… wow, I’m at a loss for words. This was such an addicting read thanks to the characters. I couldn’t even put the book down, and let’s just say I didn’t feel bad one bit for staying up until 4am finishing it.

Dale, obligated to marry Hannah Cheddleton, a college friend, clearly doesn’t have wedding bells in his mind, and the minute he meets wedding planner Emily, all thoughts of getting hitched goes out the window. Not only is he dealing with an upcoming wedding but he also has to deal with his annoying brother, Matt in the process.

I loved Emily and how close she was with her best friend, Lauren, who should have her own book (she really needs her own book). However, while she may be close to a handful of people, so much in her life keeps her heart guarded. The way Claudia wrote her backstory will make readers truly relate and understand Emily.

Midnight Pleasures didn’t disappoint when it came to scandal and gobsmacked twists. When I say my mouth dropped, it dropped and stayed that way for a few minutes. I didn’t see it coming— and I. LOVED. THAT!

Overall a great read— so great I am getting the physical edition to re-read. This is a winner!

✨ARC REVIEW ✨
4/5 stars 💛

First, thank you Claudia for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was one of the first Royal romance novels I’ve read & I thoroughly enjoyed it. The differences between our FMC Emily’s life as a wedding planner in the city & our MMC Dale’s life as a Prince were so fun & made for a very interesting story.

It was decently fast paced, the banter & jokes between our main characters had me GIGGLING & the serious topics & conversations had me in my feels! I am incredibly thankful for the content warnings cos some parts really hit a lot harder & had me putting the Kindle down a little more but they were so integral to the main story & helped our main characters seem more vulnerable & relatable than just people on a page.

The spice wasn’t too spicy, the storyline was great & some twists were JAW DROPPING. The cheating trope switched something in my memories or something cos damn it made me feel a lot of things LMAO

All in all it was a great book & I’d recommend it for sure! Just make sure you check the content warnings 💛

This book is a modern royal romance . I really enjoyed this book which I don’t often choose to read a book that has cheating in it but once you read more you see the different relationship dynamics and boundaries.

Emily and Prince Dale’s chemistry was off the charts !!! Loved how Prince Dale got what he wanted at the end and stood up to his mother. Also there is nothing more than I love a strong honest fmc which that was Emily when it came to standing up to Prince Dale at times.

These two have their own struggles when it comes to family and mostly when it came to their father’s. Both backstories were heartbreaking when it comes to loosing a parent.

The only thing that I didn’t like was the ending. I feel like it was rush and I would of loved seeing them more together when it came to Emily being part of the royal family.

I’m sorry but this was disappointing. The plot twists were on point but nothing else was there. The writing made me want to DNF so many times because was boring and not at all easy to follow, I saw zero chemistry between the characters and all those long love declaration I read came from no where while also being not it. I don’t know, I suppose this book wasn’t for me at all.

DNF. This is a story about an engaged prince falling in love with the woman who was hired to plan the royal wedding. The spicy parts of this book absolutely delivered, but I found the two romantic leads insufferable in their self-pity and their relationship confusing. Prince Dale and Emily seemed to jump from “I’m very attracted to this person” to “this person is the love of my life” in about three pages. His feelings about his fiancée Hannah seemed incompatible with his feelings about Emily. There are so many tangential parts of the story that we could have done without. I got about halfway through and decided I just didn’t want to finish it.

Had the pleasure of beta reading this after being asked by the author, which I'm grateful for!

When the plot was briefly described to me, I was immediately intrigued -especially by the royal romance trope because I do love a good royalty storyline. Plus, Emily (the FMC), being a wedding planner was a job/trope? that I've not read before I don't think, so it was fun to see details about her actual job whilst reading.

Emily has built herself up to become a strong woman who's confident in her abilities. Which is what she needs when going up against those in the royal palace. We see from the beginning that she's completely against getting married/being in a committed relationship herself, yet she can't resist the man who Prince Dale shows her he is.

Dale has had a much more privileged upbringing in comparison and is more than happy to go along with his arranged marriage to his long-term friend, Hannah. That all changes when he meets Emily though and whilst this isn't technically an outright cheating trope, I'm personally not a big fan of it so I did struggle a little with enjoying some parts of this. Which is something I discussed with Claudia as I was beta reading, and why I would rate this 4* instead of a 5*. However, I think others will definitely enjoy the forbidden aspect to Emily and Dale's relationship initially, especially because as the reader, we can see the bigger picture even when the characters themselves might not. Plus, I did enjoy the spice scenes between them!

There was one plot line with this that slowly begins to reveal itself as the story goes on. And I was straight into Claudia's DM's asking if the thread that I'd picked up on was going to play out as I suspected lool! However, what I loved, (even though I did ask her for spoilers because I couldn't resist), is that I wasn't able to guess the full plot point -so it still kept me intrigued.

Once again, very grateful to Claudia for reaching out to me and very proud of her for releasing!

6 🌟; 3/5 🥵

Midnight pleasures is a forbidden love story between Prince Dale and Wedding planner Emily. They fell in love in the process of Emily preparing a Wedding for Dale and Hannah. I’m alway a fan of forbidden romance and when it comes to a prince and Wedding Planner, I’m Sold.

Midnight Pleasures is very good at describing the actual job of Wedding Planner, Claudia is successful in showing us much knowledge about this amazing job. I feel like Midnight Pleasure not only entertains me but also provides me with a lot of information about occupations I never have a chance to discover.

Beside that, Emily is a badass woman, i admire her a lot, her dedication to her jobs, the ways she built her company and her team from zero to become an amazing company. She is my Idol, and I have so much fun going into her head and knowing what she thinks.

And Dale, how I feel for him. He went through a lot, witnessed his father's death, and a kingdom weight on his shoulder, even having to marry a person he doesn’t love for his country. He has everything but freedom. He has a heart of gold, he always comes to the orphanage to play with them, I still feel touched about his conversation between him and little Mike. He is totally my kind of man, if he is not taken by Emily, I might well make him mine.

They are so amazing individually but when as a couple is totally sparkling, their chemistry is so dazzling that makes me drunk in their love for each other. They fall in love but the one who feels moved is me.

And the plot twist at the end about Emily's father I did not expect at all. I’m stunned by the truth revealed at the end. And I am not ready to leave this amazing world along with this wonderful character cast. Hopefully, Our Lauren has her own story !

Highly recommend if you love these tropes, Midnight pleasure is must read book:
They both fall first but he falls harder
Family trauma
Forced proximity
Fast burn
Forbidden romance
Prince x wedding planner

ARC REVIEW
✨I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️

Midnight Pleasure was both romantic and emotional. The story will grip you and get you addicted from start to finish. The bantering and the sassy comebacks of Emily and Dale was hilarious and had me giggling. Emily very admiring and stole my heart. She’s smart, strong and kind. Reading her story got me shedding tears 😭. Dale was quite sassy and a grump too. But once he gave in to his feelings for Emily, he was a goner. His sweet gestures gave me butterflies in my stomach. The plot twists in this story were also surprising. I did not expect those revelations at all 🤯. I do wish for more chapters after the epilogue. I need more of Emily and Dale.💙

Overall, it was a wonderful read. I cannot wait to read more stories from Claudia Adotey 🙌🏻.

Thank you to Claudia for the ARC of Midnight Pleasure.

This book started off great, I think the whole plot of the book is interesting and was so excited for it. But it kind of fell off for me mid-way through? I didn't like the cheating scene but kept pushing through because I did like aspects of the book. I got upset when Dale forced Emily to do something she had no desire in doing, but he thought she'd feel better after doing so. I loved some of the scenes, like Emily sticking up for herself especially pertaining to her successful business. The way Dale spoke about Emily was definitely love, but the circumstances surrounding them, just made me feel ick. I loved Emily, the way she held herself, the confidence, the attitude.

Thank you so much to the author, Claudia, and Literary for providing me with an arc to review. I am very grateful for the opportunity!

I loved reading it! Emily and Prince Dale’s chemistry was off the charts! They both have their heartbreaking backstories and trauma. I like how both of them were honest with each other. They eventually communicate and open themselves up to deal with aspects of their trauma and life events. Together they face it head-on and support each other, rather than running away.

I also did not expect that plot twist. I was shocked.

Overall, the pacing of the story was just right and it flowed well!

Midnight Pleasure is a forbidden romance with a Prince and a Wedding Planner as the MCs

First off, thank you to Claudia Adotey for the e-review copy!

Emily is an Independent, strong, and doesn't need a man kinda FMC... until she meets Prince Dale.😏
Okay, here's the thing... there's a whole cheating situation. Prince Dale is technically engaged to his friend Princess Hannah, and they are gonna have an arranged marriage but my brain kept saying, "Dude, you're engaged!" whenever the FMC and MMC flirted and/or had spicy scene.🤡

Definitely recommend if you're looking for a little bit scandalous read. (cheating/love affair trope)
Overall: 2.5/5 stars!

I give this book a 4.5/5 this book truly reminded me of Bridgerton and honestly I read it at the perfect time because I had just started watching that show so it’s really on time with everything I love Dale and Emily so much I think they’re perfect for each other. arrange marriage between Dale and Hannah really wasn’t for me but I do understand that aspect of the book. It’s just not my favorite part. It’s really hard sometimes to get into books that do have that aspect but I think, Claudia wrote it really well to wear. It was easy to get through and it wasn’t as bad as it could have been in my opinion by the end of it I was really happy that Emily and Dale were everything that I wanted them to be they’re literally adorable.

Though a cute and simple royal romance of forbidden love, this book fell flat to me. The buildup for most of the story was going one direction, and then a plot twist from out of the blue somewhat derailed and distracted from the story arc, and made one of the central plot characters out to be an undeserving pawn. It also didn't feel like the MCs relationship had any depth; a quick fall in lust would make sense, but their respective claims of falling in love after practically just meeting and barely any time spent together were just not believable.

This book was so sweet and cute 🙈
I was a really good read, the writing is super fluid and leaves you wanting to keep reading every time a chapter ends.

Although it's a light read, the book deals with important issues such as abuse.

I’m usually not super fond of fast burn stories. I like a good slow burn however, this book change my mind on that!

The story line was interesting. Pretty boring until about halfway through. There were a few times I felt like I had stopped reading or missed something the way the conversations/situations would jump around. Also I normally get giddy when I see typos but this book was full of them. Missed words, wrong words etc. It left me thinking about what happened to them after but if there was a second one I wouldn't read it.

Yes, yes, and uh yes!? Funny how I didn't update the progress, (sorry Claudia x) but let me just say that this was beyond- AMAZING?! From start to finish, I can truly say I was hooked. I loved everything about it and any other book written by Claudia I can't help but love within the plot and from what she writes. Emily and Dale's chemistry is beyond incredible when it comes to bantering and it's twists and turns in the novel itself had me at the edge of my seat- because let's be real-this was definitely living up to it's title. <3

Got this book as part of stuff your kindle day and based on TikTok reviews. Honestly it was trash, she’s a wedding planner who falls in love with the man she’s hired by-a prince. The language is weird like they’re from the 18th century sometimes but they mention tons of current pop culture references at the same time? The writing was just lazy and I didn’t like it at all.

What a great plot for a book. We never choose the person we fall in love with. That means we have so many obstacles to overcome. A charming prince from a faraway land, an independent, successful woman and forbidden love. All these ingredients make you want to continue to read the book over and over again.

A beautifully written book by an amazing author. I was hooked on Emily and Dale's story and oh my, the way Claudia writes is gorgeous. The spice scenes were making me sweat and I kept swooning over the way Dale spoke about Emily. I was 100% rooting for them. I'd love to see more of their story because it was so good. I'd also love to know more about Dale's brother!

A 2 stars for me!!
A romance between the royal MMC and commoner FMC. MMC is a prince, he should be bold and mature..But he is not like that..Some things I can't accept that are represented as love. I have more expectations about this book...But something I can't dive into this book.

Potential for a good story line but in the end it does not all tie together. Too many loose ends and what feels like an abrupt ending. Also, this book could use one more pass for spelling and grammatical errors.
