Imagine coming home from running an errand to find the man who broke your heart fixing your broken air conditioning system. For Moniya Wright this became her reality the day Quamir Abdul was released from prison without telling anyone. After another failed relationship, Niya decided to focus solely on the beautiful daughter she was blessed with amidst the wreckage of her broken heart.
Qua returned home with just as much guilt weighing on his shoulders as the tragic day that altered the trajectory of his life. He wanted to disappear in the noise as he’d done for the past five years, but for some reason God had other plans for him. One of the hardest things to do is open your heart to someone who has already scarred you in the past.
For Moniya and Quamir, love is good until the very second it isn’t and you’re bleeding all over your feet. Fall in love with this second chance romance where second chances sound better than they feel but it might be exactly what you need.
LOVED everything about this book!! Love me a second chance romance and this one did not disappoint. The beginning grabbed me in and held my attention til the very end. I wish I could read this one again for the first time. Quamir & Moniya 🤞🏽🤎
I really enjoy second chance romances and this one had some good moments but I wanted to see how Moniya and Quamir's story originally developed.
As she was just introduced and then we found out the two had history it wasn't showing me they had that much of a strong connection at first.
It was definitely physical attraction that eventually led to Moniya opening her heart since Quamir broke it before. We did get some information like how wild he was in his younger days and how she had to fight girls over him so the story did reveal their past to a certain extent.
Their reconnection happened quick and there were trust issues with Moniya after the past the two had but Quamir's plan was to show her that he really cared and it was nice to see how much he loved her and loved and accepted her daughter.
This was a cute second chance book which is one of my favorite tropes. Before going to prison, Quamir didn't know how to treat women and hurt a lot of them in the process. Moniya was one of those women. While in prison, Quamir grew up and knew how he wanted to act and what he wanted when he got out. Quamir and Moniya reunite when he is released from prison. Moniya was skeptical at first but she decided to take a chance on Quamir being a changed man. The way that Quamir loved up on Moniya and her daughter, Unique, was a joy to read. I was glad that Quamir was able to overcome his past and find the family he deserved to have with Moniya. It was good to see them building each other up so both of them could get their hearts' desire. Great second chance that was enjoyable to read.
I love a good second chance romance! Quamir and Moniya did not disappoint. Qua was carrying some heavy guilt over an incident caused by his past and Moniya was struggling with being a single mom of a nonverbal child. The way they reconnected as comical, but the snippets of their past into my piqued my interest. I wanted some flashbacks to appear because I needed to know just how bad he was doing my girl. I’m not usually one for second chances, but I felt that he was remorseful for his actions. Unique’s progress towards the end was the perfect way to close it all out!
Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes and this book did not miss! Author Mycah Edwards always delivers the most relatable characters and heart warming stories. Quamir was all in, not wanting to mess up his second chance while it take a bit before Moniya allowed herself to fall freely. The way he came and snatch her from Wynter's house!?! Baby!! Moniya then had no choice to see that Qua was ready and willing to do right by her this second time around! 5 PLUS stars and as always I can't wait to see the heat up next from this author.
Quamir & Moniya! I liked this dude. First, I am not a fan of second chance romances. But Qua stood on his square and made it happen. Second, the author wrote Mo as a real woman with realistic concerns, getting in her own way. It's well written, and I got lost in the story. Third, this is my first time with this author. I'm going back to check out other books. Read it. It's real and sweet.
I enjoyed this second chance romance. I loved the growth that Quamir had even though the tragedy he faced that caused him to grow up sucked. It was good to see Moniya accept him for the new man he was so they could build their relationship. I also loved how Quamir loved and adored Unique and treated her as if she was his biological child. This was a very good second chance romance that showed the power of growth and forgiveness and how both aid in healing.
Mucha Edward’s is quickly becoming a fav author of mine. Her stories are just so innocent and pure of love that you can’t help but to fall in love with the characters. Quamir was a lost soul until a tragic event showed him the error of his ways. The true love that was always for him allowed him to be a better man, together they made the perfect recipe for love. This way life
You had me in my feels within the first chapter. I boo hoo real tears! Qua definitely repented for what happened to his bestie. Glad he was able to finally make peace with it. Mo was getting on my nerves a little. I understand her hesitation but she should’ve moved slower instead of being hot 🥵 then cold 🥶 I love little Princess Unique
Quamir was a playboy and sold dope but when his best friend Alama was murdered he took the blame and was locked up for five years even though he did nothing wrong. Coming home he reconnected with Moniya a girl he really loved! Her jealousy and past hurts almost caused her to miss out on her HEA but they made it!
The story kept my interest however it would have been better if the author actual gave us the history of Quamir and Moniya's relationship. The story does not let us experience what she went through with him previously to build up to overcoming the past and moving forward.
What a beautiful story. I would have never thought Quamir would be the gentleman he showed us. Moniya was blessed to have such a loving man. This is a great story of how love prevails. Great book.
Sometimes you have to go through somethings ,to realize what you missed. Quamir always loved Moniya. Him being in jail allowed him to reevaluate what was important in life. I loved the way he loved on Moniya daughter. Excellent example of a second chance at love.
Sometimes pain is so hard to get through even when the person who causes the pain the most has changed. Sometimes it takes more than love to put yourself back out there a second time. I loved qua energy from the very beginning.
