What do you do when your life comes to a brutal end?
You start again.
My life was never easy. I was never the girl that others envied or the one that coasted by. I had to fight for every scrap of peace I got, and even then, it wasn’t much or for long. Still, my death was just as brutal as my life, so when the world finally faded, I thanked God that my suffering was finally over.
Yeah, what a joke that was!
Instead of blissful eternity behind the pearly gates, I was sent straight to hell. It's not all bad though. I'll let you in on a little secret they don't tell you when you're Hell is awesome. Especially when your death is so violent that it captures the attention of Lucifer himself.
Lucifer has a job for me. He says I died with Pride, and that Sin is exactly what he needs to win his eternal war. He needs me to get the last of his brothers to fall, and I'm just the woman for the job.
You know what they Pride cums before you Fall... or something like that.
3 stars 🌶️ 3 stars This was interesting and the author had a lot more going on here than I expected. I would like to have liked to see just a little more consistency in terms of theme throughout the series but it was interesting seeing what each author brought to the series individually as well.
This book is part of the seven deadly sins and is written by Kaytie Marie. This book was not what I was expecting, and I do not mean that in a bad way. This book surprised me and took a direction that I absolutely loved. Kaytie Marie’s take on ‘Pride’ was such a great interpretation that leads you into the World of Hell with demons, Gods and Heaven, and it is not your normal idealistic view of how things should be played out. This book was fun, spicy and ensnares you from the start, it is written at a steady pace and my only criticism is I wanted more. Her life had been hard, she was just trying to get by, but one night everything changed. She was brutally beaten and died but, in her death, she became who she was meant to be, a better embodiment of who she was and in this rebirth, she became the last sin ‘Pride’ and met two of her mates in the underworld. With one mate to find, and new powers coming forward she needs to trust her instincts in helping to end the eternal war.
There was a lot of things I liked in this book. Something I really liked was how Hell and Heaven kind of switched, so Hell wasn't a "bad" place. So even though one of the main love interest was Lucifer he was one of the good guys. I truly loved this cause I've never read a book like this so it was a very interesting read.
I found the main character to be very strong and resilient. She got a lot of stuff thrown at her and it looked like nothing affected her. She knew exactly who she was and what she needed to do.
The biggest issue I had was the pace of the book. Everything moved really fast. As much as I liked the ideas the author had and liked how strong the character was the pace made it a bit difficult for me to truly connect to the characters/story. It felt like so much stuff was happening and a lot of info being thrown out with no time to actually process everything before we had to move on to something else.
Pride is part of the Seven Deadly Sins series and is written by Kaytie Marie.
After a rough life and being kidnapped, passing on and moving toward what was next was welcome. What she didn’t expect was to show up to hell and meet a beautiful demon. But, when she’s taken to see Lucifer, everything she thought she knew about herself and how things are set up with the world are thrown on its head. Will everything make sense? Will she figure it all out?
This was a fun and quick read. I thought it was an interesting take on the seven deadly sins. Pride was really tough and willing to listen to her instincts. I just wish that the story was a little longer, it was over way too quickly.
This is the last installment of the Seven Deadly Sins shared world. It is a standalone read and the only one of the series that I read. I honestly had a hard time getting into this story. The beginning was interesting and spicy but then it kind of fell flat for me. I am still giving it five stars because the writing was solid, there was character development and there were no plot holes. Maybe if I had read the whole series I would have been more invested. Good story just not for me.
I love all things, heaven, hot down under, sins, angels, demons…. All of it!! This book was nothing like I was expecting, because it was MORE!
Pride’s story isn’t easy, it isn’t fair, but it was inspiring. I write this with tears in my eyes. The ending, was perfect! I am moved beyond some words.
I love reading every minute of it, and I hope you will read it too! The FMC is everything and her mates are too much!!! Shell is always hold a place in my heart, that cute demon.
They say Pride cums before the fall....wait thats not how its spelt, but boy is that how it plays out in this book. Pride is part of the Seven Deadly Sins series and is written by Kaytie Marie.
After a not great start, Pride may finally have everything she has been looking for, but only once she sorts out her new reality.
An amazing story by Kaytie Marie. Pride was a strong and tough female character and love all the twists Kaytie added to preconceived notions society has for "characters". Loved this book to bits and desperately hoping we get more stories from these characters again.
Wow! What an incredible ride & changing up a Heaven & Hell type story. It is incredible. Pride was a very different type of story I thoroughly enjoyed reading. This story contains a unique way of bringing the paranormal characters into a previously established story that was intriguing. I love it! Usually when you hear about the 7 deadly sins you think about good vs bad, and this story flips the script. I loved this interpretation & absolutely love the beautiful cover.
This book was everything I wanted and more! I loved the premise of this deadly sins focus. I tend to love demon and god romances so I already knew this would be amazing! This take on the sin Pride after her death is so engaging, and I loved being able to meet her mates! While this book is shorter than my usual reads, I loved it all the same, but I think I will always want more of this amazing writing!
Pride as one of the deadly sins and the final one to arrive in hell, she had to go through a lot to get there. The concept was good, but everything happens so fast for the story. It makes it hard to believe that someone would accept that quickly that these things were their destiny. Overall the story was easy to read and I finished it in one sitting. I'd probably give it an overall rating of 3.5 stars.
This book was a good short read. I was entertained throughout the book. It had me wanting to read the rest of the series. The story was a quick read but good. I read a lot of short stories and anthologies to find new authors. If I cannot be captured in a quick story they probably will not capture me in a longer one. This captured my attention and I wanted more.
I was ill when I started this story and had to set it aside. This one needs your full attention to be able to sink into this wonderful tale. I went through so many emotions with even a few tears as I read it. The words flow, the characters are richly described and locations are amazing. Kaytie is a very good storyteller and I enjoyed getting lost in her imagination.
This was a fantastic twist on the classic heaven and hell story. Pride went through such a hard life to get to where she was once she got to the underworld. I loved getting to know Pride and all of her mates! Great storyline, great steam and great characters! My only complaint is that it wasn’t longer! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
I really enjoyed this book. I felt the ending was a bit rushed for the buildup through the book but nonetheless it was still great. I loved seeing a kickass main character and seeing her accept her position without question. Once again Kaytie has written an amazing book!
Wow this book was super different then other books I've read like this and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I loved thecapects she brought into this book and how detailed she was about the descriptions throughout the book.
I LOVED this book! It's a nice quick read. I basically finished it in one evening. I absolutely adore the world building here. The author is so talented with her words and descriptions that I could see the characters and environments.
I enjoyed the unique twist that was put on Heaven, Underworld and Pride. The storyline is intriguing, fun and spicy. The character development and the development of Pride's harem was fantasic. It is a quick read that is very well written.
When I tell you I was living for this book I was LIVING for this book! I’ve always been into/fascinated with different tales of haven and hell and gods and goddesses so this was definitely my flow! Overall, the story, plot, spice and just everything! Cannot wait for more!
Short but lots of plot and action. Spice wasnt great, but it didnt get in the way. I want to read other books in the series now. This had a really interesting twist on what the usual stories are o that was refreshing and made it feel unique.
What a ride, I love books about the sins and four horsemen. This story did not disappoint it combined both. I enjoyed it from start to end. Pride is always a tough sin to recreate but it was done beautifully in this story.
I just love Kaytie Marie's twist on Heaven and the Underworld. One minute your being tortured, the next your waking up in the Underworld to find out you are the last sin and the next Queen of the Underworld. This is what happens to Pride and now she has to come to terms with having 3 mates and saving all mankind from the Gods. Pride by Kaytie Marie is A must read if you like your dark romance laced with action and humor.
