The Playboy King

Rate this book
They call me a playboy.

And soon, they’ll call me king.

I have everything I need to ascend the throne except for one little detail.

A bride.

I’ll find her this Wed Season.

How hard can it be?

She needs to be queenly.

It wouldn’t hurt if she was nice on the eyes, too.

The last thing I expect is to see her.

My sister’s best friend.

She’s everywhere I turn, including in my dreams.

And she’s making me sweat.

She’s more than worthy of a crown.

The real question is…

Am I worthy of her?

This is the most recent in the Golden Society series featuring the experiences of each of the Ashford family children as they go through Wed season looking for their perfect match. This time it’s Victorias turn, when told she has been matched with Prince Warren, who she used to have a crush on, she isn’t initially pleased. Prime Warren, known of the playboy Prince of Sweden needs to marry so he can become King after the unexpected death of his father, can he win Victoria over, will they be a genuine love match destined to go the distance? I received this as an ARC it’s a full length story showing that the path to true love isn’t easy or straightforward

predictable

I’m not too sure if I liked this book. First time ive read anything from this author and I found it predictable and skimmed most of it whilst still keeping up with what was happening.

This is book three in The Ashfords series and it is Victoria and Warrens story. Warrens carefree life has ended after the death of his father and now Warren will have to take the throne as the new king of Sweden which is his duty but before he can be crowned he needs to get married so this season he will enter The Golden Society to get a wife and have a family so that he can carry on the royal tradition and that means his playboy lifestyle will be at a end so that he can prove all the ones that had no faith in him that he can be a good king and navigate his royal obligation by choosing the right wife who will compliment him and help strengthen the kingdom. Victoria was excited to enter The Golden Society wedding season and find her husband but she wanted love and it is down to her parents to find her the right match and even though she was nervous about what would happen and hopefully there would not be too much drama like when her brothers had to choose their wives but with her best friend Sara going with her as her chaperone she was really looking forward to the calm before the storm. When Victoria and Warren are matched together she is not happy because she wanted to find her own husband and even though she used to have a crush on Warren she knew about his reputation and knew that drama would follow and the season hasn’t even started yet. The attraction and chemistry between Victoria and Warren is strong and intense right from the start and it will not be plain sailing with everyone having there say and butting in and all the surprises along the way but will Victoria and Warren eventually find a middle ground and realise that there feelings for each other are strong and right and get the happiness and future that they both want and deserve. I absolutely love this book and series so much and it is so addictive that I was unable to put this book down and I loved how strong the connection and bond between Victoria and Warren was and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

A must read! The story of Warren and Victoria.

This is the third Wed Season of this series. It tells of Warren and Victoria’s story of an arranged marriage. Warren to be the King of Sweden in a few months needs to be married before his coronation. He is a known playboy who needs to change his ways. Victoria is next in line in her family to enter the Wed Season. She’s an independent woman and will make the final decision to marry Warren or not. Warren’s sister, Sara, is best friends with Victoria. She suggests they make a match. Warren had been friends with Victoria’s brother, Roman. Warren and Victoria know each other from when they were younger. Victoria had a crush on Warren. Warren found her attractive. The Wed Season is held in England. Warren has to walk a fine line for Victoria and have the patience of a saint to win her over. Victoria needs Warren to prove himself to her that he’s serious about her. Their story keeps you on edge throughout the whole book and makes you want more of them at the end. Jacob Parker is a great writer for keeping you engaged so thoroughly from beginning to end.

In this novel, we are in the third wed season of the Golden Society, and it is now Victoria Ashford's chance to match! As it turns out, one of her very best friends' brother is going in to the season as well. Warren is the future King of Sweden, and as his coronation is looming, he is being pressured to marry. Sara thinks that Warren and Victoria would be a wonderful match...and so this adventure truly begins. Jacob does a wonderful job of weaving in characters we've met in the previous two books, without making if a necessity to read those stories first. These two characters have a ton of hot chemistry, which may land them in a little bit of trouble as they work their way through the season. Although, as it is a typical HEA, they ultimately figure their way around all the obstacles that they run into. This was a very enjoyable book. Thanks to the author for providing us with an enchanting love story.

The Playboy King is the 3rd book of the Ashfords' series. After Roman and Theo, now we get to read Victoria's story. As usual Jacob Parker did it again, love how he created the character of Warren and Victoria. Love their chemistry and how much they fell in love with each other so quickly despite what rumours Sophia created. He also made me end up liking Sophia poor her, I felt bad for her that she had to go through the wed season a third time. I love Sarah also and I felt like we might be having her story soon and I don't know why I feel like when it's her story she will be marrying a commoner maybe Clive will be the one we never know.

There is nothing to hate about this book and love the happy ending as usual. Highly recommended and I will not be giving any spoiler as you must definitely grab this book and start reading it right away. I love this entire series and can't wait to read the next book.

I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily leave my honest opinion.

This is part of the Ashford Series, but can be read as a standalone. Victoria Ashford is matched with Warren, future King of Sweden during the wed season. His sister, Sara, is delighted as they are friends. His playboy reputation precedes him, but it doesn't take her long that the rumors are just that, rumors. Is she ready for the requirements of being Queen? How does she handle all the drama from his ex-girlfriend, Sophia? What about her bouts with nausea? What about the trip to Sweden? How does he take the news of her pregnancy? What about when she finds out the wedding invites have already been sent? A cute story in a royal world with lots of protocol and drama with arranged marriages. But this arranged marriage is attached to true love. An entertaining story with an HEA an no cliffhanger. I read a free arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

This is the third book in the Golden Society and tells the story of Warren and Victoria. Warren was not excited to be in the Wed season though with the passing of his father, he needs to be married to ascend to the throne. He needs a future queen at his side. His sister thinks her best friend, Victoria, who is in this wed season would make the perfect bride for him. Victoria's father agrees and it would make another Ashford a part of royalty though he tells Victoria the final decision is hers. She is a strong independent woman who does not like decisions being made for her. Warren is a definite alpha male. Both are stubborn. Will they be able to make it work? There are lots of forces working against them. Good read though it is a long one.

I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.

This is the third book in The Golden Society, a series of interconnected standalone romances. I love this series! Victoria and Warren's story is well written, sweet, and engaging, filled with mystery, intrigue, and twists and turns. Warren is handsome, alpha, and charming. Victoria is Roman's sister (from The Golden Society). She is beautiful, smart, and independent. They are both stubborn, and determined. I liked the push and pull, the sizzling chemistry, and the slow burn romance. The world building is captivating. The supporting characters are interesting. I loved to see again the characters from the first books in the series. I liked Sara. She is Warren's sister, and Victoria best friend. Warren's ex-girlfriend, Sophia, is a she-devil! Looking forward to more in the series!

Another Big WIN!! I love it, great series! Wonderful story, perfect match with Warren and Victoria! She does need to think twice, she'll be the queen of Sweden if she marries him! But the chemistry is so strong and pulling them together, even when they try to stay apart. Oh boy, Sophia again too, the menace to the Golden Society, still at large! Rumors and stories all ups and downs, they're so in love but, can they hang in there through all the tough times? John has it out for Warren and Sophia has it out for Victoria! Thank you Jacob again for the wonderful emotions, humor, charm and don't forget spicy book!

I love this series.
It almost feels like Jacob Parker has transported us to a different world. But it also makes sense. The rich and royals of the world set up their children to make sure they have the best marriage lines. The Ashford family is American, but they are one of the leading families in the world. It makes them a perfect fit for any royal family. And Victoria, like her brothers in the 2 previous books, is set to be with Warren, the future king of Sweden.
I loved the way Jacob wrote this story. He gives you details about the inner workings of the Golden Society. The cutthroat nature of women and men who are not matched. And the slow way Warren and Victoria find each other. And find the love they both wanted.

This is the 3rd book (I think) in this author’s Ashford Series about Victoria and Warren. Warren is all alpha male. He’s not very happy to be in their Wed Season. Warren’s father has passed away and if he wants to take the throne he must be married. Victoria is also in the Wed Season and is his sister’s bff. Her father is a Ashford and although he wants her to marry Warren will give her the final say to agree. There’s push/pull between this couple. Both are opinionated and stubborn but ‘finally’ come out together. A bit wordy but a decent story. I wish the author would have come up with new scenarios rather then the constant back and forth that became a bit frustrating but although long was still an enjoyable read.

The Playboy King, book three in The Ashfords series follows Victoria Ashford and Warren, future king of Sweden. Warren is friends with Victoria’s brother Roman, while Victoria is friends with Warren’s sister Sara. When Sara finds out about Victoria entering the Wed Season, she suggests a match to her brother to make the match with Victoria, who both know each other from when they were children. Warren is to become the next King of Sweden and needs to find a bride before his coronation in the next few months. Victoria is a very independent woman, who will need more than the basic dates. She wants Warren to prove that he actually loves her before she can decide if she wants to marry him or not.

The third Wed season of the Golden Society sees the entrance of the first Ashford daughter, Victoria. She is strong and fiercely independent, resentful of some of Society’s rules and obligations. But she quickly learns her match is Warren, her best friend’s older brother and the future king of Sweden.

Equally as headstrong and used to getting is own way, Warren was a perfect match to Victoria. Their story, while long in terms of the page count, was a quick and enjoyable read. I love this series and the glimpse into the secret life of rituals of those in the Golden Society.

Sophia was back and up to no good as usual, but there may be hope for her in the next story…

I’m loving this series. This is the third book but can be read as a standalone. It is very well written with wonderfully developed characters. Victoria Ashford and Warren, who is to be the future king of Sweden, were matched during the wedding season. But can two stubborn people make it work. This story has it all or it did for me. It’ll grab you from the beginning and won’t let you go. You’ll find humor, charm, some spice as well as hot and steamy scenes. It’ll hit all your emotions. The chemistry is off the charts that is so strong and undeniable that it palpable. Who could stay from that? No one! Definitely a must read.

This is book three of this interconnected standalone series, told in dual first person POV and leaves you with a HEA.

I loved Warren and Victoria. I loved that Warren’s sister is Victoria’s best friend and had a hand in their match. I loved that he was iffy at first about Victoria but as soon as he saw her, he fell hard and fast and determined to prove she was the only one for him. I loved Victoria’s positive energy and her willingness to be nice to everyone, even the ones that wronged her.

I absolutely loved the bonus epilogue that I snagged using my KU subscription. I’m excited for the next book. This series has been really good so far and I kinda never want it to end. I received an advanced readers copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the third book in the Golden society Wedding season and Warren and Victoria's story.
Warren will soon be the king of Sweden after his father's sudden death but he needs to find a bride.
Victoria is the third sibling to be in the Wed season and was hoping for her own input to her match but her father agrees with Warren to the match between them.
There is tons of chemistry between them but he was a playboy and can she believe that he has changed.
So much tension and plenty of rumours but also so much love.
Loved the ending.

Warren and Victoria are matched in this latest story. Warren has a reputation as a playboy although acknowledging that he needs a wife in order to become king he is determined to be a worthy of Victoria. He tries to do the right thing but Victoria has her own opinions and he became unstuck a couple of times. They have their ups and downs during the matching sessions and the fact that Sophia set her sights on Warren didn’t help.
They get their HEA though with an added twist for them to look forward to.

Warren and Victoria are the perfect match for the third wed season of the Golden Society. He is the future king and needs a queen which he hopes to secure during the wed season. She is his sister's best friend and one that his sister thinks would be perfect. While she goes along with protocol, she is appalled at some of the customs of the society. Can a fiercely independent head strong woman capture Warren's attention and will it lead them to a happily ever after.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

I liked this story, it has a bit of everything it's humorous, charming and emotional as well as spicy and hot! Their chemistry is palpable. strong and undeniable and makes it impossible for them to stay apart. Victoria Ashford and Warren, the future King of Sweden were matched during the wedding season something his sister Sara, is delighted about as she and Victoria are friends. But will Victoria take on the role of the future Queen of Sweden bearing in mind his playboy reputation?

I liked the flow of the story and the characters who were all very well drawn.

I really enjoyed this addition to the series, which offers the perfect escape from my day-to-day stuff. Believe me, you need every one of these pages for Warren and Victoria's personalities to unfold, and for Mr. Parker to pull you into this world. Then you're hooked and rooting for this stubborn, perfectly matched couple. It's a bumpy, smokin' hot ride to their HEA.

awesome read

To start, I love this series. The concept of an arranged marriage resulting in love is cool. I do really hope that the mean girl in the book ends up finding love too and I have a feeling she might be the female lead in the next book and end up marrying Archie. I think that’d be a great twist on her character so far.

What happens when a playboy prince gets thrown into the role of king and needs a queen? He follows the Wed season rules to find one! This book was a great read with a mix of modern times and tradition. I would have given 5 stars but the ending is abrupt and seemed unfinished to me.

Warren and Victoria's story was enchanting, steamy and wonderful. Warren was trying to prove to Victoria he had changed from being a playboy. I really felt for Sophia who was trying to cause trouble. A lovely read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy.

This is the 3rd book in the series and does not disappoint. Sophia is back... causing trouble, but you can't help but feel sorry for her. Victoria and Warren's story is different but by no means boring or predictable.

Very regal

I have read out of sequence which may be impacting my view. It's a lovely story but I felt like some of the arguments repeated and didn't flow as nicely as they could have. The story needed a bit more depth for me to 'love' it but I still enjoyed it.
