At first I was excited to read this book because of the TW. After reading this book, I think I’m ok to get off this ride. I thank the author for her hard work on this book but I was not a fan.
After a while the beating and bruising of Veronica got old. I’m all for a pitch black book and even pitch black MCs but this had no real substance to me. The abuse didn’t make any sense and I got bored after a while. I pushed through it to see if it got any better and unfortunately it just didn’t.
Not moving forward with this series but wish the author all the best.

I love a dark romance, but this is not romance. It is more than dark, it is pitch black. But not romance, at all.
These brothers are more than morally grey, they are pure psychotic, clinically insane, maniacs. They are seriously twisted & brutal. It is not love they feel for Veronica, it’s just pure obsession. She is a toy which allows them to use & abuse her over & over again. What they inflicted upon Veronica is beyond diabolical. It’s not just basic beatings or whippings, or figging for punishments. (She never really does much to be punished anyway, they just enjoy hurting her). What she is put through, she would not survive in the real world, no way! They torture her in ways you would torture someone you hate & want to kill, not someone you claim to love. They are not kink related punishments which they inflict upon her either, but pure brutality. We are talking, broken bones, shot, stabbed, nails ripped off, over & over again. There is getting off from pain, but I find it hard to believe in some of these torturing scenes would anyone gain pleasure from such torture like Veronica does. No matter what is done to her, she always orgasms, she enjoys their touch. Only someone with a severe mental disability who does not understand what is being done to them would be this way. No matter how shy, in her position, you would try harder to escape or just end it. This is beyond a pain kink. I also cannot understand why she wanted to go back to them. I would choose to kill myself in a less painful way than choose these brothers.
The story itself is crazy & I feel it is missing some major backstory & details regarding the brothers that we desperately need. Such as, why are the brothers like they are? In fact, why is the whole family the way they are? No way would one family all be so mentally deranged. Not an ounce of compassion, sympathy or love.
I also feel maybe some details were missing regarding Veronica. For example, when she’s in a coma & wets the bed, why wasn’t a catheter inserted (but then I thought maybe that was to do with the whole don’t touch her, or you die). How could she walk so soon after being shot in both legs? What is the timeline? She’s in a cast one moment, then having another bone broken the next. Has she healed in between any of these? How long has the hell she is living in been going on for? How can she see? The amount of face slaps & head bashing, I’m sure she’d be bruised & swollen to the point her eyes can’t open. She’s tied up, but she can use her hands to speak? I have so many questions.
Despite my questions & the lack of a background story to help understand the brothers & it's ending with a twist on a cliffhanger, it is a devilishly good read.

If you're looking for a dark romance, wait no... dark erotica, that will keep you up until 3 AM, "Ours to Ruin" by ST Roran is your next must-read. This book plunges you into a world of morally bankrupt psychotic men who steal a red-headed, green-eyed virgin during an auction, mafia-style. Veronica, the FMC, is typically the kind of character I loathe—shy, mute, and not the brightest crayon in the box. Yet, despite my initial reservations, I found myself completely drawn into her story.
Ezra and Roy, the MMC brothers, are portrayed as the most savage and merciless dons imaginable. Their twisted minds and brutal actions make this book delightfully sick, in the best way possible. It's essential to read the content warnings because this is not a story for the faint of heart. Think "touch her and die" vibes, quite literally.
I initially picked up this book because I needed something to get me out of a reading slump, and my mood wasn't up for any sappy love stories or happy endings. The ARC opportunity came at just the right time. Despite my nerves about diving into such a dark romance, by Chapter 9, I was hooked. ST Roran's ability to manipulate the reader's emotions as deftly as her characters manipulate Veronica is nothing short of impressive.
The plot is pitch black dark and filled with spice. Surprisingly, the storyline holds its own amidst the intense and frequent steamy scenes. The pacing is perfect, keeping you on edge right up to the major cliffhanger ending. While I'm usually not a fan of cliffhangers, this one had me all in, even causing me to throw my Kindle during the last paragraph.
Rafferty is the plot twist I never saw coming. The author's skill in keeping the reader guessing and then delivering such a twist is masterful. On the spice level, this book scores a solid 5 out of 5 🌶️. The scenes are intense, though some parts felt a bit disconnected and confusing. However, the erotic content enhances the story and character development rather than overshadowing it.
A highlight for me was the dedication at the beginning, setting the tone for the entire book. However, one critique would be the frequent use of the word "snickered," which made the characters seem more like high school bullies than mafia dons at times.
Overall, "Ours to Ruin" is a fantastic read for those who enjoy their erotica dark and twisted. It's not for the faint of heart, and the comprehensive chapter of trigger warnings should be read carefully. If you love dark, intense erotica that has no romance and with morally complex characters, this book is definitely for you.

The rating is for some of the good smut because the story was just very weird. I do not have any triggers but this book is not for the faint hearted. It does not have story, or writing style and everything is just messed up and wierd. The story ends on cliffhanger and have major inconsistencies. BUT STILL 2 STARS FOR SMUT.💀🌶

• They hold her grandparents captive
• They slap her, break her bones, crushes and break her leg, pierce her skin with glass, cut her with knife, kicked her in stomach, use shock gun on her, urinate on her, perform electrocution on her, licks and drink her blood, craves their name on her skin with knife, makes cut on her neck with glass strands, punctures pins on her skin with nail gun, plucks her fingernails and toenails with pliers, shot both of her legs, broke her both hands, pour honey over her wounds and let honeybees sting her, and ties her to the moving windmill.

This is pure black hole. Pitch black! I didn’t think i could finish this. My heart ache for Veronica that i had to pause or scroll social media to distract myself. This is pure unhinged men and psychotic too. Deranged and filthy!

Not sure this can actually be called a book....
Reading this was painful. It's as if the author has only the slightest grasp on the English language. The writing was adolescent at best, with word choices that made no sense at all. I'm not sure I've ever envisioned a psycho killer "prancing" toward his victim. The sentence structure was around a 5th grade level, and the torture scenes often so confusing that they were impossible to follow let alone picture. I almost DNF this several times and I definitely recommend you save your time and money. I would give this 0 stars if it was possible.

This story was as pitch black as you can get. This was not a romance in anyway and I’m not even sure how Veronica survived any of the abuse she went through. My heart hurt for her so bad. These men were crazy and unhinged to the fullest extent and in no way are they redeemable. If you are looking for a super dark twisted story then you have found it here! Please check TW.

This book is DARK. Like center of a black hole dark. I can not stress that enough. If you’re the kind of reader who likes a happy ending and cute interludes, don’t read this. If you’re fairly certain your throne in the underworld is being polished right now, dive right in. Welcome to the madness. This book ends with a cliffhanger brutal enough to make you throw your kindle, make sure it has a soft place to land. Enjoy!

This story is dark.
From the very beginning, it plunges you into a world filled with shocking, intense, and cringe-worthy moments that will leave you reeling. The sheer intensity of some scenes kept me on edge, and though I often found myself in disbelief, I was completely hooked—I had to know what would happen next. Of course, it ends on a cliffhanger, leaving me craving more.
Let me be clear: this is NOT a romance story. Our FMC (female main character) has the worst luck imaginable and makes one terrible decision after another, only to face the wrath of the unhinged men in her life. These men are possessive to a fault, unable to handle rejection or share her attention with anyone else, and they’ll stop at nothing to control her.
If you don’t enjoy dark romance (or, in this case, a story devoid of romance altogether) or if you have any triggers, this might not be the book for you. However, if you’re ready for a pitch-black, chaotic, and unrelenting story that pushes every boundary, then buckle up and jump on this wild ride. This isn’t for the faint of heart, but for those who can handle it, it’s unforgettable.

This was a VERY dark book. If you aren’t familiar or prepared for something this dark, please don’t read it then leave a bad review. It’s not for the faint of heart.
That being said I very much enjoyed this book. It was disturbing but so very interesting. I was hooked from the beginning.
Veronica is a very naive main character. She was sold into s*x traff*cking but still believes in love. She also seems to develop Stockholm Syndrome but also not at the same time. Honestly I would like to see her become a stronger character in the next book like she was becoming towards the end. Obviously she’s still scared of Roy and Ezra but she seems like she could really gain power over them.
Roy and Ezra, in the meanest way possible, suck. They both torture Veronica but then love on her which confuses her. They set rules then change them. They say they love her then do things that aren’t loving. They are walking contradictions. They are very compelling characters but also very bad people.
The plot was interesting. Not a lot happened in the plot but the stuff you did see was interesting. I think this was more of a romance/character driven book rather than plot driven which worked really well for this book. I think if you don’t go into this understanding that you will be disappointed.
Overall, a very interesting book. Definitely would recommend for fans of really dark mafia books.

They say they love her then do things that aren’t loving. They are walking contradictions. They are very compelling characters but also very bad people.
The plot was interesting. Not a lot happened in the plot but the stuff you did see was interesting. I think this was more of a romance/character driven book rather than plot driven which worked really well for this book. I think if you don’t go into this understanding that you will be disappointed.
Overall, a very interesting book. Definitely would recommend for fans of really dark mafia books.

This author is a first for me, however, not the genre.
If you love a book that is pitch black dark, then this book is for you.

Beautiful plot and character building! I felt like I was part of the book. The amount of times I gasped, frowned and just shouted at Veronica was unbelievable 🤣
The spice was DELICIOUS and written beautifully. Had me on the edge of my seat the entire book.

I spent actual money on this and I’m livid about it. This was hands down one of the worst 40 pages I have ever read and I’ve read quite a bit of crap. I wanted to finish this solely because I actually purchased it but I just can’t. I have so many words to describe this book and all of them are synonymous with “dumpster fire”. And not even cum dumpster fire - just regular, pathetic, stinky dumpster fire.
The writing is terrible. The characters are terrible. There is zero creativity or continuity going on. The author wants to pretend that because she put a bunch of poorly described violence and sex that she has a “dark romance” and tries to excuse her shitty writing by describing the characters as “morally bankrupt”. The only thing bankrupt about this book is my desire or ability to pretend it’s worth the paper it’s printed on (and I say this as someone who has a digital copy!).
If I had taken every scatter brained thought I’d ever had, mixed them with the dullest characters I could think of, topped it with the most ludicrous plot point I could find under a dumpster, and then mixed it all in a blender, this would be the result. Actually, it might be better because there would be some semblance of entertainment value.

I will not sugar coat this, this book was rough. Often times I felt queasy when reading this. This book is not for the weak and is absolutely not a romance of any kind. However, I won’t bring down the rating here. This book is dark and never promised to give you happiness or the feel goods when reading and it delivers that on all levels. For that, it deserves the rating here. If you’re thinking of this for your next read; check your triggers, check your mental health and take your time because baby…it’s a dark read!

I wasn’t bothered by any of the trigger warnings but it got a bit ridiculous and made no sense whatsoever. Some scenes were so over the top and added nothing to the story whatsoever aside from “shock and awe”. The swimming with sharks was so weird and out of nowhere I literally rolled my eyes lol

Now in the beginning, I was told this is a dark romance by as I read it, this is purely pitch black. These men are not redeemable in any way. Ezra and Roy are the MMC’s and are considered to be Dons. They are described that they are as deadly as they come and man did they prove it.
They not only are ruthless psychotic men but they also kidnapped Veronica, who is the FMC, who was being auctioned off. She already has a real messed up life but it only gets worse from her. You can only but feel bad for her. She innocent and very shy. She also doesn’t have the smartest brain which puts her in many situations which can be annoying at times. But I kept reading because I really wanted to see her story unfold and hopes of something good for her but like I said, this story is pitch black.
This story does have good plotting and the pace as well is really good. And the spice? Well the spic is spicing and there is a lot but it’s good for the storyline and pacing. Now the part that I hated the most was the cliffhanger. I’m not a fan of cliffhangers at all but I will be looking forward to the next book.

I have so many feelings about this book. Let’s start off by saying this book is not a romance novel. There is no romance here. There is manipulation, degradation, torture, and general ownership.
This is a 3.5 rounded up to 4 star read for me because while there were aspects that I enjoyed there were some things I couldn’t get past that removed me from the world of the book because it was so unrealistic or outside of my preferred kinks. All I’ll say about those is go ahead and experience it for yourself but be aware this novel takes the idea of certain kinks and makes theme deranged scenes. This is not at all to be taken as a representation of the BDSM community.
We do start to see the loosening of the reins but these two men literally took the FMC and make no apologies for being morally pitch black. However we’re starting to see a strength and perseverance from Veronica. An awareness of the darkness outside of that inside her own world.
This novel ends on a cliffhanger. Mild spoiler but also if you read dark romances that span a few books this likely won’t be too much of a surprise: I for one am hoping to see Veronica away from Ezra and Roy, and how she deals with the new hurdles in front of her away from the two men who own her.

I really wanted to like this one and it was okay but I wasn't what I expected. It wasn't even that it was black it was just twisted.
Veronica was so sweet and innocent and Ezra and Roy were just horrible.
I'm not sure how they can declare on a fairly regular basic that they love her and then proceed to hurt her the way they do. Then they do something nice like stick up for her against their mum or learn how to sign but then in the next breathe their whipping her or sticking pins in her.
The end were she is clearly trying to get to Ezra despite everything and that fact that she is in Raffery's arms and get Roy is still blaming her and waiting to killer her.
At the start I really did prefer Roy but by the end I was rooting for Ezra. His crazy seemed to be constant were as Roy seemed to be all over the place.
I hate that it stops on a cliff-hanger because now I need to know what's gonna happen next. I really hope that Ezra is okay and he get to her before Roy does. I know she says she doesn't love them but I have my doubts. Plus if she's with them she can still have contact with Dr. Shreta, Bolanle and Keegan and she seems to really like them since they are in similar situations.

I’m a dark book kind of gal. I consume a lot of it and enjoy most of what I read. Did I like this book? Yes and no. Will I return to this book? Probably not.

Storyline seemed disconnected from the characters so while I can appreciate the read I don’t feel what they feel
I felt like this had a lot of potential. In some ways it had delivered in some ways it didn’t. While this book was definitely dark, it felt in-cohesive and there was little connection to the characters which isn’t something I enjoy because I can’t properly enjoy the scenes that are trying to be set up. Which caused this book to be consumed over days rather than a few hours. To me it felt more like a research into the kink- boom sheets shaken- and move on rather than a flow from one thing to another. Again not a bad read and I can appreciate what it tried to do, but I felt disconnected and that is why I can’t give it higher.

This is darker than pitch black - WOW! But you know I couldn’t put it down.. 💅🏼 I found myself taking a few breathers while reading because of the heartache I felt for Veronica. The Donovan brothers are downright unhinged and I’m sorry but it’s hot 🥵 And they’re Irish so it’s not my fault x2. Do not think you’re going to get a romance with Ours to Ruin; these psychotic brothers are twisted and brutal, the darkest of the dark Mafia Dons/Sons you could imagine.
I did have a few issues with jilted storylines and timelines which left me scratching my head, and I missed having some world building and background building for the MC’s, but honestly it’s better to just stop thinking and read. 💀 This ends on a blue balling cliffhanger so get ready to scream.

This is darker than pitch black - WOW! But you know I couldn’t put it down.. 💅🏼 I found myself taking a few breathers while reading because of the heartache I felt for Veronica. The Donovan brothers are downright unhinged and I’m sorry but it’s hot 🥵 And they’re Irish so it’s not my fault x2. Do not think you’re going to get a romance with Ours to Ruin; these psychotic brothers are twisted and brutal, the darkest of the dark Mafia Dons/Sons you could imagine.
